Chapter 1307 Proof

”!!!”

Rose returned with proof of documents while Howard raised his guard. If the enemy tore up the documents, it would have been a disaster after all.

”This is the document from the Atracaeca Kingdom, proving that he has bought his own freedom.

”The acting lord changed his status to a special slave, which allowed him to manufacture runes and sell the rune technology for money according to the imperial laws. As such, the money was rightfully his instead of the marquisʼs.

”As such, he used that money to buy his freedom. This is the proof of his freedom. Please take a look at the date.” Rose presented the date.

”!!!” The Fire Lordʼs heart skipped a beat. Even the marquis panicked.

They both remembered the date when the new laws were signed. It was actually two days later than this proof. In other words, before getting subjected to the new laws, Tristan had become a free person.

Rose then took out another document and stated, ”This is the document of his transfer of nationality. As such, he is subjected to and protected by the imperial laws.”

The Fire Lord noticed something was wrong. ”What is this? His former nationality is the Greenwood Kingdom? He was from the Atracaeca Kingdom!”

The marquis believed the same thing. In addition, they had specifically stopped anyone from the Atracaeca Kingdom from becoming the Muivell Kingdomʼs citizens. How could this be?”

”Of course. Isnʼt that obvious? The day after getting my freedom, I switched my nationality to the Greenwood Kingdom first. My master knew you would be stopping me from changing my nationality directly to the Muivell Kingdom. At the same time, you have been paying close attention to the Zaecuria Kingdom, which is currently engaged in a trade with our Ardagan family.

”As a result, you let your guard down and didnʼt stop anyone from the Greenwood Kingdom from coming.” Tristan grinned.

”!!!” The Fire Lord and the Marquis sucked in a cold breath. They had been had.

There was only one person who could come up with this plan. And it was none other than Elaine.

That was right. The real reason Elaine gave him that document was because she knew they would use it against Tristan. She knew that if she baited them, they would fall for it.

Obviously, the one doing the nationality change was none other than Elaine. Thanks to the connection they had with the Ezenholm family and the Greenwood Kingdomʼs royal family, they had an easy time changing Tristanʼs nationality to the Greenwood Kingdom.

At the same time, the royal family simply asked another family in charge to process the transfer from the Greenwood Kingdom to the Muivell Kingdom.

Without realizing that this family had been tasked to handle Tristanʼs document, the bureaucrats from the Muivell Kingdom accepted him and signed the document.

The Fire Lordʼs hand twitched as though he was thinking, ʼAs long as this document is gone, they can fight back.ʼ

However, Howard immediately stepped forth and blocked them.

”What are you doing?” Annoyed, the Fire Lord gritted his teeth.

”Howard is just doing his job, Fire Lord, Marquis.” Elaineʼs voice echoed from the outside.

”!!!” They all looked around, finding Elaine entering the room.

”Elaine, you—!” The marquis gritted his teeth.

”I havenʼt done anything wrong. I simply canʼt trust the same person who threw my family aside when we needed them the most. Besides, donʼt you think you make your intention too obvious? I will be thrown away again once you deal with the Ardagan family.

”Itʼs ironic, isnʼt it? We were a loyal vassal before and did everything for the sake of the greater good.

”Yet, when we lost, we were cast aside as though we were easily replaceable. When we were at the lowest point, the enemy we were supposed to beat treated us justly, giving the opportunity to us, the offenders, the same as normal people.

”They treated people much better than anyone else.” Elaine raised her head. ”Thereʼs already no grudge between me and the Ardagan family. Besides, I really want to see what kind of world the Ardagan family can create… one where people donʼt have to suffer due to the lack of water, one where people can travel and live their lives to the fullest, and one where people can once again stand back up.

”Such a utopia… I, too, wish to make it a reality!”

”Elaine… You—!” The marquis was furious. He was about to snap, but Elaine coldly stated, ”Thereʼs no need to waste your breath, Marquis. This is the will of my family.”

”You!” The marquis stretched his hand, as if trying to grab her neck. However, another hand came from the side, catching his wrist.

”What is this? Is there a physical conflict inside this mansion?” Clara suddenly made her appearance, showing that if they wanted to fight, she would play along with them. Even the Fire Lord would have a hard time defeating Howard and Clara with his current strength.

Howard might not have the transcendent path, but he had runes. Clara was on the verge of finding her transcendent path. Besides, there was a hidden expert inside this family.

It was at this moment they realized, they had fucked up. Even if the merchants came here, they wouldnʼt be able to do anything.

After all, Tristan definitely wouldnʼt waste such an opportunity.

Tristan slammed the table while standing up.

”An Elder from the Tower Association has entered the forbidden zone set up by the Ardagan family. In addition, a marquis has doubted my qualification without any proof.

”As the acting lord of the Ardagan family, I have my duty to uphold the honor of the Ardagan family. Letting the Tower Association trample the dignity of the family and a mere marquis belittle the family…”

Tristan ordered with a stern voice. ”Howard. Form an investigation team and record all the evidence of the Light Lord trespassing in our forbidden zone. Weʼll bring this matter to the martial court, charging him with the death penalty.

”Elaine. Handle the matter of the marquis.”

”Yes, sir!” Howard and Elaine replied spontaneously.
