Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 345: Chapter 225: Dreams

”The space inside the Giant Pit is vast, with a complex terrain. Although there are observation stations inside, each only has a simple bed for resting, so you need to bring a change of clothes and enough food.”

”We’re located at the bottom layer of the Giant Pit. Although you could ride Koraidon directly down from a high place, I don’t recommend you do that.”

”That’s because there are a great number of ferocious Pokemon residing along the way, coming from the same space-time as Koraidon. We call them Paradox Pokemon.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki’s heart stirred.

Paradox Pokemon, does that refer to Great Tusk, Scream Tail, Roaring Moon, Flutter Mane, Iron Thorns, and the others?

Naoki asked, ”Paradox Pokemon?”

Professor Sada nodded, ”Those are other Pokemon from different timelines. In simple terms, they are certain familiar modern Pokemon in their ancient and future forms.”

Naoki furrowed his brows in contemplation.

All along, he had wanted to visit the Paldea Giant Pit to see those special Paradox Pokemon.

But unfortunately, he never had the chance to encounter them.

And now...

As Professor Sada said, this is a good opportunity.

Should he go take a look?

No need to think, Naoki’s mind already had an answer.

He wants to go and see, to see the Time Machine, to see those Paradox Pokemon, and if possible, he wants to capture one or two Paradox Pokemon.

Because they are just too cool!

For example, the Paradox species of Volcarona, Slither Wing, is a chubby, furry, cute big bug.

Or the Paradox species of Tyranitar, Iron Thorns, is a giant creature covered in metallic armor and highly intelligent.

Seeing Naoki lost in thought, Professor Sada thought he was worried about the dangers on the road.

”As long as you follow the path established by the observation station, you will not encounter too much danger. That path was set up through specialized research and is relatively safe.” She explained.

However, Naoki wasn’t worried about that problem.

Suppressing his excitement, he asked, ”Professor, can those Paradox Pokemon be captured by humans?”

Hearing this, Professor Sada was slightly stunned, then a smile appeared on her face.

She nodded, giving Naoki a positive answer, ”Of course, as long as you can capture them, just like capturing Koraidon.”

Naoki’s eyes instantly brightened.

In that case, he’s not going to be polite!

He wants them all: Slither Wing, Iron Thorns, Scream Tail, Roaring Moon, Iron Bundle, Iron Valiant!

Looking at his expression, a hint of yearning and expectation appeared in Professor Sada’s eyes, and she smiled as she said:

”To be honest, Naoki, having Paradox Pokemon and modern Pokemon live harmoniously in the Paldea Region has always been Turo’s and my dream.”

”We hope they can integrate into this world, live with humans like modern Pokemon, travel together, battle together, becoming top-tier combinations.”

”For this, Turo and I have been working hard here.”

Hearing these words, Naoki’s previously excited mood gradually calmed down.

He knew this was the dream of the two professors.

But in the game’s plot, this dream never came to fruition.

Because the primitive and foundational forces from the distant past were too ferocious, and the evolutionary forces from the distant future were too powerful.

The vigorous life force of the ancient and future Paradox Pokemon would destroy the modern ecosystem.

In the game, after the two professors accidentally died, the AI they created had to use the barriers in Zone Zero to control the situation to prevent Paradox Pokemon from leaving for Paldea.

But even so, Pokemon like Great Tusk and Iron Treads that can break through the barrier still appeared.

They broke into the Paldea Region, becoming the Titan Pokemon ruling different areas.

After contemplating for a moment, Naoki silently nodded, ”I understand, if it can be realized, this is indeed a great dream.”

Professor Sada smiled slightly, ”Then we’ll be waiting here for you and Koraidon to arrive.”

The call ended, and Naoki’s heart remained unsettled for a long time.

He thought about his previous warning to Professor Sada to be careful of a lab explosion.

If they took it to heart, then perhaps someday in the future, the two professors might survive the explosion safely.

At that time, would they abandon their dream?

Naoki didn’t know.

Things seem to be starting to move in an unknown direction.

”Forget it, everything will resolve itself in time. There’s no point worrying about it now. With Geeta and the Paldea League’s Champion-level Trainers around, it shouldn’t cause too much of an impact.”

With this thought, the heavy stone in Naoki’s heart finally settled.

Anyway, if the sky falls, Geeta will hold it up. Right now, he just wants to visit the Paldea Giant Pit and see those Paradox Pokemon.

Humming a little tune, he took out the contact information Geeta had left and gave her a call.

The League’s rewards didn’t interest him, he didn’t lack money, and he wasn’t very interested in Pokemon Eggs; compared to that, a visit to the Paldea Giant Pit seemed more worthwhile.

For him, capturing a Paradox Pokemon would be a big win.

Soon, the call connected, and after a brief greeting, Naoki expressed his wish to Geeta.

”...I want to take a look at Zone Zero. Professor Sada just happened to contact me wanting to check Koraidon’s physical condition, but she said going to the Giant Pit requires approval from the Paldea League.”

Geeta seemed more agreeable than he expected.

After hearing these words, Geeta didn’t say much, she only asked, ”The interior of the Paldea Giant Pit is extremely perilous. Without Champion-level strength, it’s impossible to take even a single step. Are you prepared?”

”Yes.” Naoki internally appreciated Geeta’s beautiful misjudgment of him.

Champion-level, Koraidon has definitely reached it.

When the time comes, he’ll bring plenty of Enhancing Cuisine and Recovery Cuisine to ensure his own safety.

”Alright.” Geeta nodded, ”I’ll submit the application to the League. You will have to wait for a bit. Once the League responds, I’ll contact you.”

”Okay, thank you for your trouble.” Naoki said.

Geeta’s face revealed a hint of a smile, ”I’d be even happier if you’re interested in working for the Paldea League.”

Naoki: ”...”

The call ended, Naoki walked out of the living room to the eaves outside, and as expected, he saw Koraidon’s figure on the grassy field basking in sunlight.

Koraidon had already picked up on Naoki’s scent. It immediately opened its eyes and lifted its head to look over, ”Ah, gah?”

”Koraidon!” Naoki walked up, squatted in front of it, and while rubbing its face, he asked, ”Have you seen any other Pokemon that come from the same place as you?”

”For example, a Pokemon like an elephant with a pair of gigantic tusks, as well as one crawling on the ground with huge wings that look like flames.”

At first, Koraidon looked confused at these words, but after hearing Naoki’s description clearly, its face quickly showed a sudden realization.

It nodded, ”Ah, gahs!”

Naoki: ”Are they powerful? Are they ferocious?”

”Ah, gah...” Koraidon thought carefully for a moment, then looked pleased with itself, ”Ah, gahs!”

It didn’t know if they were ferocious, but it knew for sure they’re not stronger than it!
