Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 310: Chapter 211: Barley Beer, New Tavern Offerings (4k)_3

Upon hearing this, Meowth froze for a moment.

It then thought that its wounded heart did indeed need some solace.

So Meowth nodded and, not in the mood to chat with Indeedee, simply said, ”Meow.” (Then I’ll have a drink, Meow.)

It placed a 300-value coin on the bar; this was a treasure Meowth found using Pay Day, round and shiny, which it really liked.

Seeing that finally another guest ordered a beer, Sister Indeedee was very happy, immediately filled a large glass for it, and asked Brother to bring it to the table.

Meowth sat at an empty spot, let out a heavy sigh, then picked up the glass and took a sip of beer.

Upon hearing its sigh, Quaquaval from the fire brigade turned its head to look over: ”Quack?” (What’s going on today?)

Seeing someone inquire, Meowth immediately began to express its heartache: ”Meow...” (I’m so foolish, really, I knew that rich Delcatty wouldn’t like me, but I couldn’t help confessing my love to it, Meow...)

Quaquaval: ”...”

A sudden spark lit up in Meowth’s eyes: ”Meow!” (What a beautiful Delcatty she is, Meow! She’s so beautiful, so noble and elegant, Meow! The moment I saw her, I knew my love had arrived!)

Then, Meowth’s expression became confused yet despondent: ”Meow...” (But it rejected my confession, and once again I’ve lost my love, Meow...)

Speaking thus, Meowth took another big gulp of beer.

Its expression was dazed, its face flushed, smoothly entering a tipsy state.

Upon hearing Meowth’s words, Naoki was taken aback.

Goodness, this is truly a romantic Meowth!

A drunken Meowth seemed to have forgotten its recent heartbreak.

It only felt light all over, like it was floating among clouds, wrapped in soft and white clouds, as if time had stood still.

”Meow!” (This feels so good, Meow!)

Seeing this scene, the other Pokemon were shocked, what’s happening to this Meowth?

Clearly, a moment ago it was sad about the heartbreak, but now it showed this expression.

Naoki couldn’t help but explain, ”This is the effect of beer; it can help Pokemon temporarily forget sad things, relax their body, relieve fatigue. After drinking it, as long as they go home and sleep well, by tomorrow morning, everything will get better.”

Upon hearing this, many Pokemon were amazed.

Does beer really have such effects?

Some Pokemon who weren’t planning to drink now showed eager expressions.

Seeing this, Naoki raised an eyebrow, ”Could it be that you’ve also had a breakup?”

”Pikachu!”

”Squeak squeak!”

”...”

A group of Pokemon quickly shook their heads, they certainly hadn’t!

Many Pokemon also covered their mouths and chuckled, creating a joyful atmosphere inside the tavern.

Naoki thus chatted with them, but just then, the tavern’s door was pushed open once more.

At this point, the night was deep; Naoki thought it might be Miss Jenny with her Growlithe coming over for a patrol, but to his surprise, he looked up to see a large group of unexpected figures.

Squirtle, Venusaur, Pikachu, Meowth...

The Pokémon that pushed open the door was a Golduck, evolved from Psyduck.

Seeing so many Pokemon, Naoki’s face showed a stunned expression.

The group of Pokemon also saw him, but in the next moment, they all made way.

Behind them, a creature with humanoid form and feline Pokemon characteristics stood in the darkness, with eyes showing no discernible emotions, calmly looking over.
