Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 308: Chapter 211: Barley Beer, New Addition to the Tavern (4k)

Early the next morning.

Upon waking up, Naoki habitually glanced at the calendar. Today was August 13th, and on the number 13, there was a conspicuous red circle drawn with a red pen.

That was a mark Naoki made more than a month ago when brewing beer.

It signifies that today is the day the beer is ready.

Thinking of this, Naoki, who was still a bit drowsy, was instantly invigorated.

He got up and left the bedroom, bringing Pawmot and Koraidon to the living room.

In the kitchen, his sibling Indeedee had already started preparing a fragrant breakfast for everyone.

The brother Indeedee was tidying up the mess made by Alcremie and other Pokemon in the living room.

Cyclizar lay lazily in front of the fireplace, squinting as though it hadn’t fully awakened.

Seeing this scene, Koraidon couldn’t help but chime in: ”Ah gaa hiss!”

How did it become so much like a lazy pig?

Hearing Koraidon’s voice, Cyclizar instantly woke up. It opened its eyes to find everyone looking at it.

”Gaa oof?”

Cyclizar panicked a bit, thinking it might have done something wrong.

Naoki, speechless: ”It’s fine, it’ll be a while before we eat. You can continue napping for now.”

Only then did Cyclizar relax, but after such a scare, it no longer felt sleepy. Simply, it shook its body and ran outside to breathe some fresh air.

The morning pasture always brings relaxation.

The breeze carried a faint floral scent mixed with the fragrance of fresh grass, with crystal-clear dewdrops hanging on the crop leaves in the fields.

A strolling Glaceon, a Dolliv performing Synthesis, diligent Combee, and wild Bird-type Pokemon perched on the rooftop - all of these combined created a leisurely yet bustling atmosphere.

Cyclizar loved it and soon joined in, running energetically across the grassy field.

In the living room.

Alcremie stood on the cabinet, watching the sister Indeedee prepare breakfast.

Pawmo jumped onto the sofa, its fluffy body lazily wrapped in the soft cushions.

Sunlight shone in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and as Pawmo moved, a few fine floating hairs drifted in the air, clearly visible in the light beams.

Naoki: ”...”

Looks like they need to feed the fluffy Pokemon in the pasture some chicken soup.

He remembered that chicken soup had an effect on preventing shedding and could make the Pokemon oily and slippery.

Not just Naoki, even the brother Indeedee noticed this scene.

It came over with a tool, cleaning up the floating hairs on the wooden floor.

Naoki felt satisfied and once again couldn’t help but admire the renowned Housekeeper Pokemon!

While breakfast was still being prepared, Naoki opened the door leading to the cellar.

The cellar was dim, with a faint fresh fragrance in the air.

Naoki sniffed carefully, able to catch a hint of the unique aroma produced by the fermentation of hops and malt.

”It’s really done!”

With anticipation, Naoki went down the stairs to the cellar, approaching the nearest oak barrel, turned the valve, and the golden beer began to flow out in a stream.

Following closely was the rich and mellow aroma of barley beer.

Naoki called out to Koraidon, who was guarding the cellar entrance: ”Bring a glass over!”

”Ah gaa hiss!”

Koraidon responded, quickly turning to fetch a glass from the living room.

Naoki took it, filled it with beer, and then looked down, letting the beer’s information float into his mind.

[Barley Beer (B): Beer fermented with malt and hops, an essential part of the tavern.

Cooking Effect: Intoxication. After drinking, it puts Pokemon in a tipsy state, bringing them temporary tranquility, allowing their body and mind to relax, and speeding up recovery from injuries in this state.

If Fighting Type Pokemon drink it before a battle, it might lead to some unexpected outcomes.

Evaluation: Basic barley beer, easy to make, a fine choice for home and travel.]

”Intoxication?” Naoki was a bit surprised by such a straightforward effect, but after thinking about it, it seemed quite normal.

It can bring tranquility to a Pokemon’s mind, allowing their body and mind to relax...

Perhaps those extremely exhausted Pokemon would appreciate such a drink.

However, what Naoki found interesting was that the beer seemed to have a special effect on Fighting Type Pokemon?

Drinking it before a battle, could it help them perform a Drunken Fist style?

Coincidentally, his pasture also had a Fighting Type Pokemon!

Naoki glanced up at Koraidon.

But after a brief contemplation, he decided against testing it on Koraidon.

He was worried that Koraidon might get drunk and start rampaging.

If it were an ordinary Pokemon, it would be fine, but Koraidon was a legendary Pokemon.

If it went on a drunken spree, no one on the pasture could stop it.

Having finished the beer, Naoki was delighted and promptly went to share this news with the Indeedee siblings who were helping run the tavern.

”This beer can effectively help Pokemon relieve fatigue and let them relax. If injured Pokemon drink it, their recovery speed will also increase.”

”In this way, we can add another drink to the tavern’s menu in the future!”

”Aiye?”

Hearing about the magical effect, the sister Indeedee showed an excited expression on her small face.
