Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 313: Chapter 213: Birthday Gift (Double-Length)

Calyrex... Everything still can’t do without Calyrex.

Planting the World Tree requires Calyrex, developing the Reversed World also needs Calyrex, and although the horse race doesn’t need Calyrex’s help, it requires his steeds.

Naoki stood on the Floating Island, pondering, and stared at the sleeping Giratina not far away.

Suddenly, Giratina drowsily opened its eyes.

The first thing it noticed was Naoki standing opposite.

Giratina seemed still in a drunken state, its speech turning into a tongue-tied stutter: ”You... you finally remembered to come!”

Naoki: ”...”

He looked at Giratina suspiciously, thinking how similar this sounded to something else.

He also had business to attend to; things in the Reversed World were over, and he couldn’t spend all day here.

Moreover, the weakness brought about by drinking Poisonous Mushroom Soup wasn’t fake.

Looking at the deeply resentful Giratina, Naoki said speechlessly: ”Did you drink all that beer?”

”Bee... beer?” Giratina squinted its eyes, barely using its intoxicated mind to recall what that was.

It suddenly got up and shouted: ”Delicious!”

Naoki: ”...”

Giratina glanced at him, threatening in a domineering manner: ”Br... bring me some more barrels, or... or I’ll drag... drag you in here and lock... lock you up!”

Naoki: ”...”

Giratina suddenly leaned in, drunkenly saying: ”Foolish hu...human, why aren’t you... you speaking? Such br... bravery! Dare to ignore me!”

With those words, Giratina released a towering fury, as if it was going to unleash amazing power to crush the human in front of it.

But in the last second, it still gave up.

Giratina lay back down, resting its large head on its two sturdy forelimbs:

”Never... mind, if I kill you, no one will be left to talk to me.”

For a moment, Naoki was at a loss for words. Thinking of Giratina’s legend, he felt touched, preparing to say something, but then he heard the dragon muttering:

”Although you’re a tiny, insignificant human, not... not as ambitious as those humans before... timid as well... zZZ!”

Looking at the once again sleeping Giratina, Naoki felt like he had something to say but didn’t know if he should say it.

Being called timid, he was tempted to lead Koraidon and a fully equipped riding Calyrex to invade the Reversed World, making this Evil Dragon work on the ranch!

Naoki raised his fist at Giratina, grumbling as he called for his brother Indeedee to feed him some detoxifying Pecha Berry Juice.

After bidding farewell to Mewtwo and the others, life on the ranch returned to peace again.

At five in the afternoon, Zack prepared to drive the big truck to the ranch for goods pick-up.

After loading several barrels of MooMoo Fresh Milk and goat milk onto the truck, Naoki prepared to take him home to inspect the cellar full of beer.

Standing in front of the brand new house, Zack couldn’t help but stop and look up.

He looked at the new house, then at the distant old wooden cabin, and couldn’t help but sigh:

”Wow wow wow, you’re really making the ranch more and more prosperous!”

Naoki looked at the group of Pokemon next to him, smiling knowingly: ”It’s not just my work alone.”

Upon hearing this, Zack also looked at the group of Pokemon bred on the ranch:

”They’re all great! Honestly, the first time I saw you, you were so skinny, Mayor Thomas and I couldn’t help but worry if you could manage ranch work.”

Hearing his words, Naoki remembered what he looked like when he first came here.

He couldn’t help but laugh: ”And now?”

Zack: ”It turns out our worries were unnecessary. Now you’re as strong as a Tauros!”

Thinking of the group of black Tauros in the Paldea Region, Naoki couldn’t help defending himself: ”It’s not that exaggerated.”

”Hahahahaha!” Zack burst into laughter, then looked at the stubble outside Naoki’s mouth and said: ”But you need to shave properly. Otherwise, you’ll look like a thirty-some-year-old man, and girls about your age on the street might call you uncle.”

Naoki: ”To be honest, that already happened.”

It was in summer; he often did farm work outside, which tanned his skin and grew a beard. When buying vegetables at Porto Marinada Market, he forgot to shave, and a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl called him uncle.

Zack showed a face of ’I told you so,’ amusing the nearby Cyclizar and Koraidon.

Their chat over, the two went to the cellar, where Zack, the professional, examined the beer’s quality.

Naoki patiently waited beside, waiting for Zack to set the beer price.

”Hmm, the fermentation is spot on, the aroma smells rich, with a natural oak flavor.” Zack poured a glass, sipping it as he finely tasted: ”Rich malt aroma mixed with the bitterness of the hops... It tastes smooth, with a clean aftertaste, very nice!”

Saying this, Zack couldn’t help but regret: ”Too bad the fermentation time was too short; if longer, it would be better, and the price of aged beer would be higher, the taste more rich.”

Naoki modestly sought guidance: ”Aging? And how long would that take?”

Zack explained: ”That’s up to you. Take wine for example, naturally fermented wine usually needs about 20 days.”
