Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 320: Chapter 215: Pumpkin Cookies (4k)_2

”Oh, right!” Mrs. Dante’s question reminded Naoki of the matter of finding a tailor to make clothes.

”No, it’s almost Cyclizar’s birthday, and I’m planning to make it a warm coat using this wool,” Naoki explained. ”The town doesn’t sell Cyclizar clothes, only Cyclizar saddle covers.”

”A birthday gift, huh? Cyclizar will definitely be very happy.” Mrs. Dante was quite surprised. ”I never expected you to have such a skill.”

Naoki was momentarily taken aback, understanding Mrs. Dante’s meaning. He shook his head helplessly: ”...No, I don’t know how. I was thinking of asking someone in town for help.”

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Dante understood easily and offered warmly, ”In that case, leave it to me! I have a loom at home and I often use it to make clothes!”

”Hmm?” Naoki was slightly surprised.

Mrs. Dante proudly said, ”When I was younger, I was a very popular tailor in town! But later, many clothing factories emerged, and our handmade tailor shop slowly got phased out.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki thought seriously for a moment, then thanked the kind elderly lady: ”Then I’ll be troubling you.”

”Don’t worry, this is my specialty,” Mrs. Dante said enthusiastically.

The amount of wool was too much for her to carry alone, so Naoki had Dragonite help transport Mrs. Dante and the wool over.

Seeing Mrs. Dante, who is very kind to him, Dragonite was very happy, gladly taking the wool from Naoki’s hands and following Mrs. Dante to the town.

At five in the evening, Zack arrived at the ranch right on schedule to pick up goods.

After loading the barrels of MooMoo Milk onto the truck, he wiped the sweat on his face with a towel and said:

”Next month will be Thanksgiving. Have you prepared the pumpkin cookies?”

”Pumpkin cookies?” Naoki was a bit confused.

He knew about Thanksgiving because Zack had mentioned it to him before.

This day marks the last day of autumn, where people gather to celebrate the festival and give thanks to Calyrex.

But what did pumpkin cookies mean?

Seeing his puzzled look, Zack was quite surprised: ”You don’t know?”

Naoki was even more baffled: ”What do you mean?”

Zack thought carefully, muttering to himself: ”Makes sense, you left Porto Marinada Town at a young age, so it’s normal you don’t know.”

”In that case, let me explain!” Zack said. ”It’s a tradition that has been passed down in Porto Marinada Town for a long time. On the last day of autumn, to celebrate the harvest, people living near the town give each other small cookies made from crops.”

”In the evening, children and Pokemon would go door-to-door exchanging their small cookies with the homeowners.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki roughly understood why Mayor Thomas and others would celebrate Calyrex on this day.

”I understand now, I’ll make more later.” He nodded, especially since the pumpkin cookies Mrs. Dante sent in the afternoon had already been eaten by Dragonite and the others.

”That’s good!” Zack laughed heartily. ”I just let you know in advance so that when the town’s kids come over asking for cookies, you won’t be caught unprepared.”

Naoki thought seriously for a moment and asked, ”In that case, can I use one child’s cookies to exchange with the next arriving child?”

Working on a loop reuse.

Zack flustered: ”That’s never happened before.”

Naoki chuckled: ”I’m just curious, not planning to actually do it.”

Zack breathed a sigh of relief. To him, Naoki wasn’t the kind to pull such a stunt.

After loading the goods, he drove off from the ranch.

Naoki, meanwhile, picked a golden-yellow large pumpkin from the ground and carried it back into the house.

As dusk approached, his sister, Indeedee, began preparing dinner.

Naoki cleaned the pumpkin, then carried it to the Cream Workshop prepared for Alcremie.

Though called the Cream Workshop, it was actually a room dedicated to making cakes, snacks, and desserts.

Alcremie, sharp-eyed, noticed Naoki preparing to make desserts and quickly came running.

However, due to its small size, it couldn’t keep up and could only issue a growl asking Naoki to wait.

”Maa maa!”

Naoki stopped and watched the small Alcremie scramble across the sofa to reach him. He lowered his body as Alcremie hopped onto the large pumpkin he held.

”Maa maa!” It wanted to make desserts together!

Seeing Alcremie’s expression, Naoki said with amusement, ”Even after a whole day outside playing with Naclstack, you’re not tired?”

”Maa maa~” Alcremie shook its head happily, jiggling its little body, a light sweet aroma wafting from it.

”Come to think of it, I’ve seen other Alcremie having timid personalities. Except for their Trainer, they hide from everyone else. Why are you so courageous?” Naoki was curious.

Not only does it hang out with a much larger-than-itself Naclstack, but it dares to squeeze onto the same sofa with Koraidon.

”Maa maa!” Alcremie appeared proud, because it was a brave little Alcremie!

”Do you know what usually happens to courageous Pokemon?” Naoki raised an eyebrow and deliberately asked.

”Maa maa?”
