Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 329: Chapter 218: Forest Inferno (Part 3)

This unexpected downpour was no coincidence; it was this powerful Dragonite helping them!

After a brief moment of astonishment, he quickly reported everything he discovered: ”It’s a Dragonite. It brought down this rainstorm to stop the fire! It’s also creating a hurricane to control the direction of the rain. Such... such an incredible Dragonite!”

”What?”

The fire chief on the ground was stunned, an expression of shock appearing on his face.

Dragonite... where did this Dragonite come from?

No, no way, how could a Dragonite possess such power!

Is this scale of a rainstorm really something a single Dragonite can unleash?

Upon hearing this name, Miss Jenny was also momentarily stunned. She then turned to look at Naoki, who was standing quietly on the side, not showing any hint of surprise.

”Naoki?” Miss Jenny cautiously asked, ”Is it the Dragonite?”

Naoki nodded slightly: ”It’s it.”

Miss Jenny widened her eyes.

This meant that it was Naoki who stopped the fire!

Hearing their conversation, all the firefighters present were frozen in place.

One firefighter asked incredulously, ”That Dragonite is your Pokémon?”

Naoki: ”...Yes.”

”Wait a minute, I’ve seen you before, Naoki from the Naoki Ranch!” Another firefighter got sidetracked, ”Aren’t you a rancher? How do you have such a powerful Pokémon!”

Naoki: ”...”

How should he answer this question?

As far as he knew, in most people’s eyes, a rancher is just an ordinary country farmer.

He actually understood why some people would be shocked to hear he was a farmer after all.

Because it felt like a farmer who lives by digging food from the ground suddenly started crafting missiles by hand.

”Watch your words!”

The fire chief was the first to come to his senses. He glared at that firefighter, then patted Naoki on the shoulder with a broad smile, saying:

”Well done, Naoki, on behalf of the Porto Marinada Town fire department, I want to express our gratitude!”

Miss Jenny also visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

She solemnly saluted Naoki: ”I also want to thank you on behalf of the police department, Naoki. We owe it all to you this time.”

”Just a small effort.” Naoki shook his head.

At this time, Miss Joy, who was in charge of emergency aid, arrived late.

She and Audino jumped out of the car, braving the rain to run under the car shelter, asking anxiously: ”How’s it going?”

Miss Jenny: ”Due to this rainstorm, the fire is subsiding. We still don’t know the situation regarding the wild Pokémon’s injuries, but we have our work cut out for us.”

”I see...” Miss Joy seemed to realize something too, her usually gentle expression turning worried.

Naoki stepped aside, silently observing the expressions of these people.

Although the fire was under control, none of the people present seemed happy about it.

Because they all knew that compared to the fire, the rebuilding process after the fire would be more challenging.

Winter was approaching, and those trees that burned down wouldn’t grow back in just a few short months.

The back mountain was home to many wild Pokémon, and even if they survived this disaster, it would be difficult for them to endure the cold winter without food.

This would mean that the wild Pokémon ecosystem around Porto Marinada Town would suffer severe damage.

Naoki felt powerless in this regard too.

Suddenly, a figure flashed in his mind.

No, there was still a way.

If he invited Calyrex here, then the ecosystem of the back mountain could be restored to its original state.

Moreover, it could simultaneously draw human and Pokémon faith for Calyrex.
