Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 328: Chapter 218: Forest Inferno (Part 2)

Outside the window, the flames blazed, and seeing this scene, Naoki widened his eyes and quickly walked to the window to look outside.

In the distance, the mountain behind was ablaze with fire, the roaring flames dyeing the night sky a deep red.

The thing Miss Jenny worried about has finally happened!

The mountain behind caught fire!

This season is precisely autumn when the leaves start to yellow, and the ground on the mountain is piled with flammable dead branches and leaves. Once they catch fire, the result is predictable.

”No, we have to help!”

Naoki hurriedly got dressed, brought Koraidon and Pawmot into the living room, and said to Cyclizar and Alcremie, who were woken up inside, ”You guys keep sleeping!”

Naoki quickly ran outside and happened to see Miss Jenny and Growlithe riding a police motorcycle past the ranch.

Seeing the lights on at the ranch, Miss Jenny turned around, stopped the motorcycle, and looking at Naoki from a distance, said seriously:

”The mountain is on fire, it’s dangerous here, Naoki. The fire will spread over soon. Leave quickly!”

Growlithe: ”Woof woof!”

How could Naoki leave? This is the ranch he worked so hard to manage with his Pokemon!

”Where’s Dragonite?”

Naoki shouted, and soon Dragonite flew over from the grass.

Just woken up, Dragonite was still in a sleepy state and drowsily approached Naoki.

After seeing the serious expression on his face, Dragonite instantly shivered.

”Do you see that?” Naoki pointed to the mountain where the flames were sky-high.

Dragonite turned its head to look and saw the crimson sky, and the whole dragon immediately became alert.

Naoki: ”Please, use Rain Dance, like last time, and make it rain around here!”

Dragonite sensed the gravity in Naoki’s words, nodded, then turned and flew towards the mountain.

Seeing this, Miss Jenny was slightly stunned, but she quickly reacted and said seriously, ”If you plan to help, come with me!”

Naoki nodded, riding Koraidon, followed behind Miss Jenny.

The two hurried through the ranch towards the mountain.

From afar, Naoki saw a lot of humans and Pokemon gathered at the mountain’s foot.

A firefighter, with an anxious expression, was reporting to his captain: ”We can’t, the fire has completely spread. Our firefighter Pokemon’s power isn’t enough, and the Rain Dance only covers a small area, unable to fully stop this fire!”

The captain’s face was sullen, and he looked at the mountain, heavy-hearted but still calmly issuing orders: ”Create an isolation barrier around the mountain to prevent the fire from spreading to the fields below!”

At this moment, another firefighter ran over: ”Re-re-report! Our helicopter saw a group of trapped Pokemon in the center of the fire! They... they’re working together to fight this fire!”

The captain’s face grew grimmer: ”Organize a rescue immediately!”

”Yes!”

The team member quickly turned and ran off, but at this moment, the clear night sky suddenly gathered a mass of dark clouds.

A vast area of darkness was sharply highlighted by the glow of the fire.

”Boom!”

Accompanied by a clap of thunder,

Large raindrops poured down, drenching the ground engulfed by the fire.

All the firefighters on the scene showed a look of joy on their faces.

It’s raining!

Seeing this scene, Naoki immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, they made it in time...

The rain was getting heavier, seemingly turning into a downpour.

The cold rainwater met the raging flames, and the whole mountain instantly hissed and crackled.

The fire stopped spreading, and amidst this downpour, it gradually slowed.

The ring of fire began to shrink, leaving only a wasteland of ashes on what was once a flourishing land.

Everyone took shelter under the canopy of the fire truck and looked up at the outside downpour.

Naoki, with Koraidon, followed Miss Jenny to the crowd.

Some firefighters, witnessing this scene, couldn’t hide their excitement, whispering with teary eyes, ”Thank goodness, thank goodness...”

Miss Jenny remained as calm as at the beginning. She glanced around and asked, ”How is the situation now?”

The firefighter captain’s grim face slightly eased: ”Casualties are unknown; we have to wait for the fire to completely subside to know.”

Miss Jenny: ”What caused this fire?”

Firefighter Captain: ”A Trainer camping on the mountain forgot to put out the campfire while resting at night. When he woke up, everything around him was engulfed in flames. He hurriedly rode his Flying Pokemon and contacted the fire department.”

Hearing this, Miss Jenny’s face became very unpleasant.

Just as she expected, such an incident eventually happened...

At this time, a sudden exclamation came through the firefighter captain’s headset.

This middle-aged man, with red eyes, thought another emergency had occurred. He immediately frowned and loudly inquired, ”Report the situation!”

”It’s, it’s Dragonite!”

In the air, the firefighter piloting the helicopter, releasing cooling bombs, was shocked watching the scene not far away.

In the darkness of the night and amidst the storm, a mysterious and powerful Dragonite was overlooking everything below.

It flapped its wings, creating a strong airflow, which turned into a hurricane, sweeping the storm towards the still-burning area.

Witnessing this scene, the firefighter immediately understood everything.
