Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 322: Chapter 216: Go, Metronome!

The process of making pumpkin cookies isn’t complicated.

Plus, Naoki has specially studied how to make these sweet treats.

Now, he can make cakes, puffs, puddings, and cookies.

First, blend sliced pumpkin into puree, then mix it evenly with previously prepared MooMoo Milk. Next, pour Dolliv’s olive oil and sugar into the eggs, and whisk until fluffy.

Step three, pour in the pumpkin puree, add flour and cornstarch, mix the three evenly, and pour into a baking tray with round molds.

Finally, put two fresh red cranberries on top as decorations, and bake in the oven for about ten minutes.

Soon, with a ding sound, the oven stopped working.

Naoki donned oven mitts and pulled out the baking tray, seeing neat, round cookies exuding a rich fragrance.

It’s the unique flavor created by the combination of the sweet scent of milk and the aroma of pumpkin.

”Done!”

Seeing these cookies looking good, Naoki felt very pleased in his heart. He really seems to have some talent in making desserts.

Naoki glanced down, and the information of these little cookies appeared in his mind.

[Pumpkin Cookies (B+): Cookies made from pumpkins grown on the farm, a treat full of rural charm.

Cooking Effect: Lucky lv2, when used by Pokémon, the abnormal status hit rate of moves like Sleep Powder, Hypnosis, Stun Spore, and Ice Beam is moderately increased, probability of powerful moves during Metronome rises, duration: 10 minutes.

Review: Delicious cookies born to celebrate the harvest, it is said to bring good luck to Pokémon.]

”Hmm?”

Lucky?

At first glance at this effect, Naoki thought he had made a dish similar to Lucky Pudding.

But upon closer inspection, he discovered this effect only seemed effective when Pokémon used moves?

Naoki curiously picked up a still hot cookie.

The increased abnormal status hit rate of moves like Sleep Powder and Ice Beam was fine.

But the following Metronome is interesting.

It’s well-known that Metronome is a move that heavily relies on luck.

In the game, Metronome is described like this—waving fingers to stimulate the brain, using any move from all moves.

This means, moves like Groudon’s Precipice Blades, Kyogre’s Origin Pulse, Palkia’s Spacial Rend, and Dialga’s Time RoarRoar of Time can all be rolled out!

To roll out these skills, the only requirement for Pokémon is to be lucky enough.

Speaking of Metronome, Naoki first thought of that Togepi of Misty’s in the animation.

He couldn’t help but imagine a Togepi rolling Arceus’s Judgment in battle.

That scene, just thinking about it makes one excited!

Naoki excitedly licked his lips.

This pumpkin cookie is interesting!

But unfortunately, it doesn’t have much effect on the Pokémon in his ranch.

And the duration is very short, only maintaining for ten minutes. Unless specifically used for battles, it can’t be used in daily life.

Belonging to a case of something is better than nothing.

Naoki poured the baked pumpkin cookies into a plate and carried them downstairs.

Among his Pokémon, not many like sweet food.

Besides Alcremie, it’s only his sister Indeedee, the others are not against it, but not particularly interested in sweet food.

Therefore, Naoki originally intended to find Alcremie to help him with the tasting.

But looking around the living room, he didn’t find Alcremie’s presence.

Naoki couldn’t help but ask his brother Indeedee closest to him: ”Where’s Alcremie?”

”Ai Eedy.”

His brother Indeedee looked towards the door.

Gone outside?

Naoki was somewhat surprised, checking the outside sky, it was already dark, why was Alcremie still outside at this time?

He left most of the cookies for his sister Indeedee and the others to share, while he carried the plate to the ranch.

He wandered around the ranch, eventually finding Alcremie under the guidance of Butterfree.

Alcremie was talking spiritedly to Dragonite.

Curious, Naoki took out a pack of Translation Nuts Cake from his pocket.

Next, he heard Alcremie milkily say: ”Mama!” (Dragonite! Please teach me how to become stronger!)

Dragonite looked troubledly at the tiny Alcremie in front of it: ”Awoo...” (My method may not help you, as you don’t have wings and can’t fly...)

Alcremie looked puzzled: ”Mama?” (Does becoming strong have anything to do with flying?)

Dragonite’s eyes brightened as it explained: ”Awoo!” (Because only by flying can you make deliveries! Naoki says, the delivery process is exercise that helps Pokémon become strong, I owe today to deliveries!)

Upon hearing this, Alcremie looked down at its body.

It felt very sad.

Because it doesn’t have wings like Dragonite and can’t make deliveries.

Alcremie said sadly: ”Mama...” (I want to become the strongest Pokémon in the world...because then I won’t be eaten!)

Dragonite was already bewildered.

Naoki then stepped forward with Butterfree, comforting the disheartened Alcremie: ”Don’t worry, no one will eat you, everyone on the ranch will protect you.”
