His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2246: Chapter 653: One Year Later (30) (Second Update)

”I heard someone in Paris is pursuing you! And he’s a handsome guy from Paris!”

Xi Meng asked with interest, sizing up Qin Mu, trying to glean something from her face.

Qin Mu merely lowered her head and smiled slightly: ”This woman, Chen Xiaomei!”

Xi Meng knew she could surely guess; they didn’t know much about her life in Paris, but Chen Xiaomei had been an employee at JY, so she knew much more and would inevitably mention something when they met.

”So, it’s true?”

Xi Meng asked again, her voice not loud, but genuinely curious.

Qin Mu looked at her and smiled helplessly: ”Maybe, but he hasn’t officially confessed!”

Just as Qin Mu finished speaking, the door to Mu Yichen’s office suddenly opened from the inside, causing both Qin Mu and Xi Meng’s expressions to tense up.

”Mu General!”

Although nervous, Xi Meng didn’t forget to greet him, and Qin Mu also tried to smile at him.

Mu Yichen gave Qin Mu a cold glance before walking past them.

”I feel like I might have caused you trouble!”

As soon as Mu Yichen left, Xi Meng leaned closer to Qin Mu’s ear and said.

”Ah! It’s actually nothing!”

Qin Mu remembered that he had actually asked about it last night, but she didn’t share anything of interest, yet today, he seemed very intrigued?

Qin Mu felt a tingling sensation on her scalp, pretending not to be afraid was a lie.

”Actually, Mu General really can’t bear to be angry with you; he wouldn’t dare drive you away again. Over the past year, you have no idea how he’s been living, I’ve never seen him smile.”

Xi Meng told Qin Mu.

”Anyway, it’s fine. Tell me what he has been up to this year. Did he really break up with that Miss Chen?”

Qin Mu pondered, holding a cup of tea against the table edge and chatting with Xi Meng.

”If they were considered to be dating, then they broke up. But I don’t think they were ever really in a relationship.”

Xi Meng explained.

Qin Mu listened peacefully, half-understanding.

”Mu General seemed to want to try things out with this Miss Chen for a while, but it seems like they just had a few meals together and attended some social events, nothing else.”

Xi Meng continued.

”No way? Wasn’t the Mu Family already considering Chen Xiaoyi as their prospective daughter-in-law?”

Qin Mu couldn’t believe it, didn’t want to believe it.

”The elders have that intention, but Mu General doesn’t, right? Besides, you are still Mu Family’s prospective daughter-in-law, aren’t you?”

Xi Meng asked her, leaving her speechless.

”But that Miss Chen does genuinely like Mu General. She even called me for lunch; you know, many women who like Mu General try to get close or learn more about him through me. Of course, I usually politely decline. Oh, and once, Miss Chen brought some clothes to Mu General. According to Zhao Huai, Mu General was about to try them on but suddenly refused.”

Qin Mu was even more baffled, having a hard time understanding Mu Yichen’s thoughts.

”I heard the Mu Family elders even changed their clothing brand, and just when everyone thought Mu General would also switch...”

Xi Meng suddenly looked at Qin Mu without speaking.

Qin Mu’s repressed gaze turned to her, expecting her answer.

”Mu General moved Chengcheng and Huanhuan from the Mu Mansion to the apartment and then brought you back!”

Qin Mu...

”Old Qin said it’s Mu General’s plan; he brings the kids and you back, so you can start over!”

Of course, Xi Meng was happy and wanted Qin Mu to know Mu Yichen’s heartfelt intentions.

Qin Mu was more shocked after hearing this, her eyes involuntarily moving, then shaking her head: ”No, I have to leave!”

”Qin Mu!”

As Qin Mu was about to leave, Xi Meng suddenly grabbed her, and Qin Mu looked at her confusedly. She said: ”You better not go anywhere now; there are many people downstairs waiting to interview you.”

”What?”

”I don’t know who tipped them off, but as soon as you arrived at the office building, a bunch of reporters rushed over. They’re waiting outside our office building now.”

Xi Meng explained.

Qin Mu...

During the New Year, so crowded?

Unable to leave, she had to stay. Qin Mu sat outside for a while and started feeling sleepy. Xi Meng noticed she seemed to be dozing off and said to her: ”You can go to Mu General’s office!”

”Me? Can I?”

”Who else can besides you?”

Qin Mu smiled wryly, thinking to herself, what’s the point of making things difficult for herself, so she turned and went into his office.

Xi Meng, Zhao Huai, and Xiaomei created a temporary group, and the three occasionally communicated. Xiaomei also hurried to JY.
