His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2217: Chapter 645: One Year Later (22): Not Wearing (Third Update)_3

The aunt explained for them from the side.

”Hmph! If we are hungry, we can be hungry, who are you, an outsider, to ask?”

Huanhuan, displeased, assumed the airs of the eldest daughter of the Mu Family, crossing her arms and looking up at Chen Xiaoyi, who was much taller than her, with a defiant smile on her face.

Chen Xiaoyi, hearing the word ”outsider,” couldn’t hold her expression, but she couldn’t argue with a child: ”Huanhuan, you can’t talk to adults like that, hmm?”

”Stop putting on airs here. Doesn’t everyone know you want to be our stepmother? I’m telling you, as long as my siblings and I are here, you can forget about it and get lost as soon as possible.”

Huanhuan wasn’t buying her gentle act at all.

Chen Xiaoyi looked increasingly embarrassed: ”Huanhuan, if Auntie wants to be your stepmother, it would have to be with your father’s consent. Conversely, if your father accepts me, don’t you think you should show me some respect?”

The aunt and the chef watched and listened from the side without speaking, thinking that what their family’s young lady was saying was exactly what they wanted to say.

”Our dad only loves our mom. Don’t think that just because you had someone remove all of our mom’s things, our dad will forget her.”

Thinking of that matter, Huanhuan felt a pang in her heart, unable to hold back her contempt for her.

”Both of us look a lot like mom. If you want our dad to forget mom, you’d have to kick both of us out.”

Chengcheng followed her sister’s example and folded his arms, speaking confidently.

”This...”

Chen Xiaoyi seemed a bit flustered upon hearing Chengcheng’s words.

”You’ve always wanted to kick us out, haven’t you? You wicked woman, don’t think my siblings and I are easy to push around. If you want to drive us away, check first if my fist agrees!”

As Huanhuan spoke, she raised an arm, a small hand clenched in an unconvincing fist, thinking herself quite formidable.

However, Huanhuan seemed to realize that one person’s strength might not be enough against Chen Xiaoyi and instinctively glanced at Chengcheng. Chengcheng mimicked the stance of a formidable male protagonist from an animated show, as if he were about to fight.

”You’ve really wronged me. I know you’ve seen a lot of bad cartoons where the stepmothers are all villains, bullying the children of the previous wives. But take a closer look at your Auntie Xiaoyi, am I really that scary?”

As Xiaoyi spoke, she unconsciously did a little turn around the kitchen.

Chengcheng, in a huff, seeing her pacing around their kitchen, ran over, grabbed the vegetables from the counter, and threw them at Chen Xiaoyi’s beautiful blue dress.

Chen Xiaoyi felt a push and, wearing high heels, accidentally fell backward.

The aunt and the chef just watched without helping her, retreating to the side, witnessing her fall to the floor in embarrassment.

”Wicked woman, you’re ugly and lazy, and you’re trying to take over our kitchen. Hmph, Grandpa, I’m hungry. I want food now!”

Huanhuan grabbed the anxious Chengcheng’s hand and then shouted to the chef nearby before dragging Chengcheng out.

Chen Xiaoyi awkwardly lifted her eyes to look at the people standing around her. Just a moment ago, she had felt these people were all like her servants, but now she only felt embarrassed as she slowly climbed up from the ground.

What she hadn’t expected was that not a single person was willing to help her.

”Today, you’re all willing to watch me make a fool of myself, so Qin Mu must have treated you all well before! It’s okay, I don’t blame you, I will do better than her.”

Chen Xiaoyi wiped her aggrieved tears with a tissue and then continued preparing Mu Yichen’s dinner.

The few people behind exchanged glances, but still, no one spoke.

Chen Xiaoyi’s tears continued to fall silently, but she quietly focused on preparing the ingredients she brought.

Outside the door, Feng Fanghua discreetly observed everything, then sighed helplessly, walking to the doorway: ”All of you, come out with me.”

Chen Xiaoyi turned her head in panic: ”Auntie, when did you come back?”

The few servants exchanged glances with each other, couldn’t help but show more displeasure to Chen Xiaoyi, but no one dared to speak, lowering their heads and filing out.

”What happened today, I’ll pretend I didn’t see, but from now on remember, Miss Chen is equivalent to me in this house, you are not allowed to bully her again.”

Feng Fanghua said.

Huanhuan and Chengcheng sat in the dining room chairs, both shocked to see their grandmother there, but listening to her words, the siblings felt wronged and angry, yet said nothing since they had pushed her earlier.

”Alright!”

Everyone said nothing more, just lowered their heads in agreement.

”Auntie, don’t blame them, it’s me who’s not good enough, I will use actions to make them willing to accept me.”

Chen Xiaoyi stood at the kitchen door promising Feng Fanghua.

”Silly child! This kitchen is not a place for a wealthy young lady like you to be. Why bother?”

Feng Fanghua walked over, took her hand, discovered her fingers were a bit rough, looked down and realized they were cut, feeling even more distressed: ”If you can’t cook, don’t. Mu Yichen can cook himself, and as for Qin Mu before, she didn’t enter the kitchen either.”

”Whether she did is her business, but as a wife, one should be able to cook a couple of dishes for their husband at least, otherwise what kind of a wife is that?”

Hearing this, Feng Fanghua felt comforted because what she wanted was for Chen Xiaoyi to consider her son, unlike Qin Mu, who selfishly had her son cook his own meals.

”Just remember that, Auntie remembers your words. Come with me!”

Feng Fanghua took her hand and led her out. The few servants couldn’t help but sigh.

Huanhuan couldn’t help but follow, watching Feng Fanghua lead Chen Xiaoyi upstairs from the living room side, feeling uneasy and quickly ran over.

Chengcheng sat for a while, worried his sister would be bullied, so he followed as well, instructing others not to make any noise.

After the siblings left, a few servants sighed in the dining room: ”It seems the Mu Family is indeed going to change hands.”
