His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2245: Chapter 653: One Year Later (30) (Second Update)_3

”Auntie, is our dad inside?”

Chengcheng asked excitedly.

”He is! You two go on in!”

Xi Meng said to them with a smile, and as soon as she finished, the two little ones immediately dragged Qin Mu inside like they were kidnapping her.

Qin Mu had no choice at all: ”I’ll go in first, we’ll talk later!”

She mouthed the words to Xi Meng, and Xi Meng nodded, but when she saw Qin Mu being taken into the office by those two little devils, she couldn’t help laughing again.

People always say having children is a burden, but these two little devils, how are they a burden? They’re clearly the catalyst for that couple’s relationship.

As soon as Qin Mu went in, she smelled a familiar smell of smoke. She didn’t know why, but she suddenly wanted a few puffs herself. However, he had already put his cigarette out, then looked at them calmly: ”What are you doing here?”

As if he didn’t have time to bother with them, Huanhuan and Chengcheng exchanged a look and stuck out their tongues, then the siblings let go of Qin Mu and went to sit on the sofa like little bosses.

Qin Mu shook her head helplessly: ”They said it’s been a long time since they came to your office to cause trouble, so they wanted to come and really soak up the atmosphere.”

Mu Yichen frowned and looked at her disapprovingly: ”So you just brought them here to make trouble!”

”Yup!”

Qin Mu folded her arms across her chest, nodded, and answered very firmly.

”Hehe! Daddy, do you want to spank Mommy’s butt?”

”Yeah! Mommy’s lying! We never said we wanted to come make trouble, we said we really missed Daddy.”

Huanhuan and Chengcheng chimed in one after another, and Qin Mu only felt her head getting bigger. She glared at the two of them, unhappy: ”You two little scammers!”

”Let’s go out and play!”

Huanhuan suddenly suggested to Chengcheng. Chengcheng nodded, and then the siblings dashed out like the wind. The door slammed shut with a bang, and Qin Mu’s heart jumped along with it.

”Do you believe what they said?”

Qin Mu turned to look at the man behind the desk and asked.

Mu Yichen lifted his brows slightly and said nothing.

”What did you do today?”

Mu Yichen didn’t answer her question, but asked one of his own.

”Um... eating and drinking, shopping all morning, we had lunch at your hotel at noon, and then your daughter and your son sweet-talked me into coming here!”

As Qin Mu said this, she was already wandering leisurely around his office. She stood by the window and took a look downstairs, felt a bit afraid of heights, then turned back again. Seeing that he had lit another cigarette in front of her, she suddenly started laughing.

”Give me one, will you?”

She walked over to him.

Mu Yichen didn’t speak, just smiled, squinting at her. He turned his chair slightly so he was facing her: ”Come here.”

”Give me one?”

Qin Mu thought to herself, he’s in a good mood today, not bad, not bad!

But just as she walked over, he pulled her onto his lap. Qin Mu was a bit speechless, thinking, and here I thought you were in a good mood and about to be generous.

”So stingy!”

So she lowered her eyes and said to him.

Mu Yichen didn’t get mad; instead, his smile grew even happier. He took a hard drag on his cigarette, then pressed her into his arms. The faint smoke he exhaled drifted between her lips and arms, making her almost cough. She could only cover her mouth and burrow into his chest: ”Mu Yichen, what are you doing?”

”Cigarettes really are a good thing.”

He smiled, lowered his gaze to look at her seeking a sense of security in his arms, his voice calm yet making people overthink.

Qin Mu looked up at him again, seeing how dazzling his starry eyes were, and suddenly thought of Chen Xiaoyi: ”I ran into Chen Xiaoyi at the restaurant, she was very polite to me, you...”

She trailed off. Mu Yichen was still silently gazing at her. He took another drag, and the smoke was still blown toward her face: ”What about me? What did she say to you that makes you stare at me like this?”

”Nothing.”

An answer was already on the tip of Qin Mu’s heart; she no longer needed him to respond.

Mu Yichen’s arm around her suddenly tightened a bit: ”You’re really used to keeping things in your heart and digesting them yourself.”

With words like that, it was hard to tell if he was praising or criticizing her, but Qin Mu no longer felt like meeting his gaze. In a low voice, she said, ”I’m going out to see where those two have gone.”

Mu Yichen didn’t let her go. Qin Mu had no choice but to look up. Their eyes met, and what she saw was hurt.

After she left, Mu Yichen let out a long, forceful sigh, then lowered his head to stare at his crotch and laughed helplessly.

There hadn’t been many women sitting on his lap, but there were a few. They were all beauties, with looks, figures, and charms that were nothing to sneeze at. Yet it was precisely this cold woman who could so easily make him surrender.

”You don’t need to worry about them. The two of them used to come here all the time; they’re very familiar with everyone here.”

Xi Meng chatted with her as she made her a cup of flower tea, and then the two of them started talking outside the office.
