His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2224: Chapter 648: One Year Later (25) Returned! (Third Update)

At the end of the year, Qin Mu didn’t receive a call from Mu Yichen, but rather saw a WeChat message from him saying he had returned to the city.

Drinking and chatting with colleagues in a very quiet bar, listening to them talk about interesting stories from their lives, Qin Mu always felt like she was listening to some bizarre fantasy. Beautiful images appeared in her eyes, but they seemed so distant, as if they were on an unknown horizon.

Her assistant hurried to the bar and handed out a few business cards, printed with a Chinese name, Zong Yi!

Those two characters were quite beautiful and pleasant, very winning, everyone said it was a good choice, very interesting, but Qin Mu felt a chill in her heart.

Especially when she saw him looking at her with that persistent smile, Qin Mu thought of her past few years.

Back then, she thought she had reached an understanding with Mu Yichen, that they were united as a couple, and no one could separate them, no one could force her into unease.

She once wanted to keep moving forward with him!

She once wished he would always hold her hand, and go anywhere, as long as he was there, she feared nothing.

But, life is often unsatisfactory.

She wondered how those couples who stayed together in middle age endured so many years, if they ever doubted each other, if they always had a single heart, or if they endured various hardships to reach that age.

But no matter what, her life, she had her own way of living it.

Divorce!

When she returned to the city, it was already evening, and it was snowing lightly at Rongcheng Airport. Because Feng Fanghua didn’t want the child to see her in Rongcheng, she directly found a hotel, naturally it couldn’t be AM.

She had just checked into the hotel when Mu Yichen sent her a WeChat message: ”You’re back?”

”At the hotel!”

After taking a bath, Qin Mu lay on the bed staring at the ceiling light in a daze after replying to him.

”Let’s meet, I’m here too.”

Mu Yichen said.

Hearing the sound again, Qin Mu picked up her phone and glanced at it, then sighed helplessly, ”I’m at a budget hotel near the airport.”

After reading it, Mu Yichen frowned: ”Exact address!”

”Tomorrow, let’s meet and talk in detail tomorrow, I’m a bit tired now.”

Qin Mu sent him a message and then put down her phone, spread her arms and lay there in a daze. After a while, her phone rang again, but she ignored it, turned over, and fell asleep easily.

In the middle of the night, a blanket was gently placed over her, and she continued to sleep soundly, only that there was already another person sitting in the chair by the bed.

Thinking that after all the sails had passed, he would eventually become a stranger.

Qin Mu woke up in the morning with a headache, turned over restlessly, and unexpectedly, as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw someone on the sofa, instantly springing up reflexively.

It was clearly a man’s body, but before she could calm down, she realized it was him.

Somehow, Qin Mu suddenly breathed a sigh of relief, yet her brows furrowed in confusion.

Had he been sitting there on the sofa watching her for a long time?

No, the point is, how did he end up here?

”How did you find this place?”

Qin Mu tentatively asked him, thinking about how he could find her no matter where she was.

”This is Rongcheng.”

He explained casually.

Indeed, this was Rongcheng, his territory, it was easy for him to find her.

”When did you get here?”

”Did you smoke last night?”

Instead of answering her, Mu Yichen turned around to look at the ashtray on her bedside table.

Hearing his question, Qin Mu couldn’t help but glance over there too, a phrase escaped her lips, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

”You used to love smoking before sleeping, don’t you smoke now?”

Mu Yichen still didn’t answer her, just stared at her with his deep eyes.

Talking about the past, they could talk for days and nights, why bring up smoking?

Ever since he knew she had picked up the habit of smoking, every time Mu Yichen wanted to smoke, he would throw it away, remembering her smoking image, he felt like he was poisoned, it was hard to start, occasionally smoking one, it was fine if he didn’t think of her, but if he did, he had to stop.

”Why are you staying here?”

Since she didn’t want to talk about the main topic, he changed the subject.

”Wasn’t it inconvenient to stay over there! I heard your relationship has been progressing rapidly lately.”

Qin Mu’s voice carried a hint of playfulness, but couldn’t hide her embarrassment. She raised her hand to tidy the messy hair in front of her face.

Mu Yichen looked at her slightly embarrassed look, then got up and went to open the curtains by the window.

There was no sunshine, so it wasn’t glaring. Qin Mu instinctively looked out the window, as if it was snowing slightly.
