Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1143: Chapter 8-2: Overwhelmed with Emotions (Part 4)

Almost without any hesitation, after the battle ended, six black warships immediately rushed to the position where Bandit No.6 was hit. In the absence of any discovery, these six warships quickly dispersed to search the obstacle zone.

From the actions of these six warships, Fatty could easily deduce the confusion of the opposing Commander.

However, this brief confusion didn’t stop him. On the contrary, every command he gave was firm. It seemed he had already determined that an invisible warship was right beside him.

Stealth Technology is not omnipotent. The ship can deceive radar and visual sight. However, the ship still exists and can’t transform into nothingness in the void.

Especially when flying in this asteroid belt full of floating rocks and dust. Perhaps the impact of a floating rock could expose the invisible ship.

The six warships that ended the battle would undoubtedly enhance their detection capabilities to the highest level. Without the pressure of electronic countermeasures, all the activated radars, optical observation devices, kinetic scanners, and space particle monitors function like countless pairs of eyes and invisible tentacles, scanning everything around. All data is gathered by the SkyNet System, forming a precise detection that can cover a radius of at least ten thousand kilometers,

If the distance between the two sides exceeds ten thousand kilometers, Fatty wouldn’t be worried at all. Two stealth Armed Merchant Ships could leisurely escape the vision of these warships and leave calmly. If it were only one or two warships, Fatty wouldn’t be worried either. But the actual situation is that the Armed Merchant Ships are less than five thousand kilometers away from the opponent! And the opponent has six warships!

This can’t blame Sechter. Although battles beyond five thousand kilometers in space can be clearly seen with the naked eye, this battle suddenly erupted in dense stardust and the asteroid belt. Relying on the radar loaded on merchant ships of this class, it’s absolutely impossible to detect these top warships with extremely strong radar stealth and electronic interference capabilities five thousand kilometers away in advance!

What really shocked Fatty was that the opponent had clearly assumed they would move towards the jump channel to Resk, hence their search direction was very targeted.

The Armed Merchant Ship carefully avoids the floating rocks in space. Meanwhile, the distance data displayed on the top left corner of the main screen in the central control console shrinks continuously.

Five thousand one hundred and two... five thousand thirty... four thousand nine hundred fifty...

Fatty taps on the virtual keyboard, attempting to find an asteroid where the ship could hide. But this attempt is quickly abandoned.

The six warships, maintaining a certain interval, start to fire in all directions! Their rotating turrets and secondary guns form a seamless optical net under computer control. One or two warships using this search method might be in vain; merely the spread of energy cannon angles would drive them mad. But the optical net interwoven by six warships under SkyNet’s unified control?!

Fatty stops his hand, everyone’s face changes!

The opponent’s actions indicate they already know about the invisibility capabilities of our ship! If it was just speculation before, now it can be confirmed that these warships come from within the Fei Alliance and they’re targeting us!

”At this rate, within two minutes, we’ll be discovered by them!” Sechter quickly calculates data, his eyes full of bloodshot.

”Under stealth status, what is our maximum speed?” Margaret asks.

”Fifty kilometers per second,” Sechter answers, ”But at this speed, we can’t avoid so many floating rock collisions.”

Margaret’s face is heavy. She knows that if it were in normal circumstances, a ship traversing the obstacle zone per second at fifty kilometers, or even two hundred kilometers, wouldn’t be considered anything. Those colliding floating rocks wouldn’t cause any harm to the ship at all. But now it’s different, the greatest survival skill of the two Armed Merchant Ships is invisibility. Once exposed due to a floating rock collision, they would face the pursuit of six military warships.

”What if...” Margaret asks, ”We just escaped?!”

”In terms of speed, we should be faster than them!” Sechter replies, ”But the distance is too close. Once locked, it’s hard for us to escape. Moreover, we can’t enter jump state under their pursuit. What’s more important is, releasing invisibility, for the rear thruster to go from zero to full, we need at least thirty seconds of acceleration time.”

Margaret’s heart sinks instantly.

Looking at the screen showing the increasingly close six warships and their interwoven energy cannon light, she has no other solution but to wish the ship suddenly turns into a butterfly miraculously lucky enough to pass through tiny gaps in the firepower!

Without entering the jump state, it’s impossible to truly shake off the enemy. And the thirty seconds of acceleration further shut the door on accelerated escape.

Thirty seconds is enough for those six warships to destroy the Armed Merchant Ship several times! Although their warships are nearly five thousand kilometers away from the ship, their energy cannon fire has grazed past the ship several times.

What to do? Margaret anxiously looks towards the command station and suddenly is dumbfounded.
