Counterfeit Hero

No one expected that when the situation suddenly became dangerous, it was the Leray people who won the time to save everything for them!

Bernadotte truly wanted to laugh.

From now on, everyone who had considered Leray an insignificant player before the war will understand an undeniable truth—the Leray people have been fighting this war for four years and will continue to fight. From the beginning, Leray was not a side role; it isn’t now, and it won’t be in the future.

No one can underestimate this nation that fights in the fire of war! The Leray people used a single destroyer to capture the entire Mars Free Port, and with a fleet that doesn’t even qualify as a B-level fleet, they influenced the entire Southeast war situation!

With a courteous tone, Bernadotte’s face was flushed with pride, and the corner of his lips involuntarily curled up in smugness.

Fatty, well done!

More people continued to step forward to congratulate Bernadotte. Although many are reluctant to admit it, the facts are clearly laid out in front of them.

As a tight-knit nation alliance, the Federation Alliance possesses laws and systems formed over hundreds of years, very stringent. This is the foundation of maintaining the unity of the Federation Alliance member states. Whether it’s the powerful Feiyang Republic, the Chuckna Republic, or the annually rotating chair country, or even the Federation Alliance’s highest authority, the United Parliament, none can arbitrarily destroy these laws and systems.

It is precisely these legal systems that have, over centuries, constantly integrated the Federation Alliance member states economically, politically, and militarily. Although politically the Federation Alliance remains under national autonomy, economically and in cultural education, it has long been intertwined. Especially militarily, which boasts a complete unified system.

In the Federation Alliance military system, the armies of each country are classified into six levels according to a stringent assessment standard. Different levels not only represent different combat capability assessments but also different rights and status.

From the lowest Level 5 troops to the highest special-level troops, with each ascending level, the treatment of soldiers, the status of officers, the equipment of the armies, and the attention from the Military Department are all exponentially increased. And during wartime, high-level troops enjoy priority privileges in supply, transportation, rescue, air support, long-range strike support, and information support.

Not to mention special-level and Level 1 troops, even those rated as Second-level troops by the Federation Alliance Joint Command are treasures of each country’s Military Department. Many small and medium-sized countries in the Federation Alliance merely have Level 3 combat forces.

This rank was inconspicuous at the start of the great war, but as the war progressed, as the collaboration within the Federation Alliance Joint Army became tighter, and as the Federation Alliance Council’s control over countries economically and in resources strengthened, it became every General’s most urgent desire to have their troops pass assessments or accumulate military achievements to move up one or two levels.

Apart from the privileges and status gained by the army itself, a high-level troop also represents the right to speak in the United Parliament and the Joint Command!

According to the Federation Alliance’s military system charter, considering the bandit army’s achievements in the Longbow Star System, awarding them a Second-level, or even a Level 1 troops formation wouldn’t be too much. After all, their battle in the Longbow Star System indirectly saved the entire Southeast Star System war situation. The times create heroes, and this wave just happened to coincide with them!

Apart from the elite troops of several major countries, in the entire Federation Alliance Joint Army, how many can be rated as Level 1? In any battle zone, Level 1 troops are the core of the core, the main force of the main force!

If Leray indeed produced a Level 1 troop, then, Leray’s status in the alliance would naturally rise as well!

A few generals from ordinary small countries looked at Bernadotte with eyes naturally filled with a hint of envy, even jealousy. They couldn’t fathom how Hanfrey ended up being so incompetent, ultimately having the bandit army blow up the flagship and perform a hit-horse-to-catch-the-king maneuver.

”Tian Xingjian... Tian Xingjian... Wait...” An admiral who had been pondering suddenly called out: ”Is it that Tian Xingjian who captured Mars Free Port?!”

Evidently, this general from the Northwest battle zone wasn’t quite familiar with Leray’s hero.

Hearing the admiral’s shout, many generals showed expressions of sudden realization. They had celebrated for a while, but now they finally connected the name with the person. It was merely a not-so-unfamiliar name and a vague impression in their minds. To the massive Federation Alliance, the country of Leray is truly minuscule.

The crowd began whispering and discussing.

”Gentlemen...”

McKinley’s voice quieted the bustling command room hall: ”I think, the most important thing now is to draft an unfair contract and let the captured Mr. Hanfrey sign it.”

McKinley’s teasing drew a burst of laughter.

The generals exchanged smiles. The heavy depression since the Canglang Star fell into Mikami Yuto’s hands was lifted into the clouds at this moment. Especially Rabinowski, the Chuckna Admiral, and Vice Admiral Machira standing on either side of Bernadotte, were delighted with beaming smiles. After all, Chuckna was the direct beneficiary of this victory!

”General Douglas.” After a low discussion, McKinley turned and looked at the virtual screen, smiling: ”This is truly good news, but the Command is not at the front line and cannot provide specific guidance. You must know, what you’ve accomplished is entirely beyond our expectations. The unfair treaty for Mr. Hanfrey can only be drafted by yourselves. What we can do now is to await your good news and prepare medals, waiting for your return!”
