Chapter 1142: Chapter 2: Mixed Emotions (3)

The Major General took a long breath: ”I give it seventy points! This battle is enough to make them famous in one fight!”

Silence fell in the conference room.

With a somewhat profound look in the officers’ eyes, Leefer paced back and forth for a while, then coldly said: ”It seems I indeed underestimated this Leray Fleet. Being able to set an ambush right under Hanfrey’s nose and destroy the Feiyu Aircraft Carrier Cluster, including one Imperial Power-class Carrier and two Giant Wave. Modified, is impossible without sufficient strength. Even my Feiyang’s B-level fleet couldn’t complete the same task.”

”It seems.....” Leefer turned around, grimly said: ”I’ve stirred up trouble!”

The officers exchanged glances, seeing the astonishment in each other’s eyes. Following Leefer for so many years, they had never seen their commander, who always had unwavering will and disregard for others, make such an evaluation of a Mixed Army. Admitting he underestimated the opponent was unprecedented.

However, they also knew that when Leefer spoke in such a tone, that army would be in for a tough time! No matter how powerful, no matter how many secrets they held, they couldn’t stand against the Leefer Legion! Everyone who ever tried to provoke Leefer has met with defeat, and this time would be no exception!

”Since Margaret appeared in the bandit army,” Leefer looked at the interstellar map, snortingly said: ”I suppose there is something within that fleet worth her efforts. Peche.....”

”General!” The Major General put down his pointer, stood to attention.

”Immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the bandit army,” Leefer frowned tightly: ”Including everything on Mars. I want the most detailed information! Also, inform our people about their possible stealth capabilities, tell them to spare no effort in eliminating the target!”

”Yes, Admiral!” Peche saluted.

Though everyone knew who the target Leefer mentioned was, the expressions on the officers’ faces showed no change. In their view, this was only natural!

”Very good!” Leefer nodded. He stepped forward, took the electronic pointer from Peche’s hand, turned to survey the officers below, and said calmly: ”Let’s talk about something that interests you more.... Due to pressure from public opinion and the United Parliament, the command has decided to hold a new joint combat meeting in two days according to the situation, to determine whether my Army Group will engage in battle. Marshal Hastings, due to health reasons, will not attend, so I estimate...”

The electronic pointer lightly tapped on the interstellar map of the Ryan Republic.

Leefer said expressionlessly: ”Here, will be the result of the compromise from all sides during the joint meeting. The Ryan Republic is currently being pressured by the Naga Federation; since they do not dare to send us to Karsdon Star River and Resk, they will likely assume, letting us engage in battle in Ryan to enhance the attack on the Western Alliance, easing the pressure on other war zones, would be a good choice.”

While speaking, Leefer put down the pointer, sweeping his gaze. The officers sprung up like springs and stood at attention.

”The door has already been opened a crack.” Leefer picked up his military cap, lowered his eyes, and said word by word: ”Let’s show all the Fei Alliance citizens who the real soldiers, the real warriors are! Who is the true master of this world!”

”Yes!”

The response to Leefer was a low roar like a wild lion before release.

Two Armed Merchant Ships, hidden in the void, slowly deviated from the course, maneuvering deep into the obstacle zone. Unable to activate the ion thrusters, the ships’ speed was exceedingly slow.

However, no one felt impatient because of it.

On the long-range viewer screen in the control room, the Suss Fleet, after losing two Destroyers and one cruiser, along with all escort ships, finally collapsed. Six mysterious battleships were making their final attack. Even when the opponent had clearly lost the will to resist, these black battleships showed no relaxation. Their movements were still so cold and precise.

This was a complete victory. To prevail over many with few, for these six Feiyang Battleships seemed so natural.

No one wanted to expose their whereabouts before such space killers. Even though the two Armed Merchant Ships were hidden in the obstruction area and immediately entered stealth mode upon discovering the opponent, the opponent, after all, had a cruiser. The radar detection range of the cruiser far exceeded that of the Armed Merchant Ships. Who knew if, before this moment, the cruiser had already discovered them?

Just moments ago, Bandit No.6 had taken a hit from a dispersed Energy Cannon! Although no harm was caused, the change in line and data trajectory appearing on the SkyNet monitoring screen when the Energy Cannon was neutralized by the spacecraft’s energy shield, made detecting the anomaly very easy.

No matter what, Fatty was uneasy. He could only hope the opponent overlooked this anomaly; otherwise, they would realize there was a spaceship beside them. Those asteroids, clearly, did not have energy shields!

The spacecraft moved slowly. At a speed of less than thirty kilometers per second, the two Armed Merchant Ships were like two snails in the desert.

On the virtual screen, the battle had ended. Except for one escaping Suss Destroyer, all others had become debris floating in the entire void.

As time ticked by, everyone’s heart, with the actions of the six battleships, beat faster and faster.
