Counterfeit Hero

This is the first time we’ve seen someone dare to insult an officer like this, especially someone as notoriously cold as General Leefer.

”Say that again!” Leefer’s cold voice seemed to bite out each word from between clenched teeth, his murderous intent almost tangible. He was truly enraged.

”I could say it a hundred times, and you still wouldn’t get smarter!” Fatty curled his lips, and then unexpectedly bowed to Weii Jianshan beside him, apologizing with remorse, ”Mr. Weii Jianshan, I apologize on behalf of our army for our rudeness.”

The usually composed Weii Jianshan was taken aback, then waved it off coolly, ”It’s nothing.”

”You’ve gone too far!” Fatty abruptly turned around, pointing at Leefer righteously: ”I’m just a consultant for this unit! The command center can ask Major General Carolina what exactly my relationship is with this unit. You must know, they are the armed forces of the Mars Faction Mutual Assistance Alliance, here only to help voluntarily.”

A hush fell over.

”They just saved your Feiyang’s Nineteen Group Fleet, and then you climb up the pole, trying to give them orders. Who do you think you are?!” Fatty looked at him with a face full of disappointing scorn, his hand shaking: ”You can’t even figure out the basic relationship, and you have the nerve to ask me to repeat myself. I repeat that you’re brain-dead, and you climax?!”

Fatty ignored the trembling Leefer, his fists clenched, and turned to the assembly of generals, speaking earnestly: ”It’s fortunate they’re magnanimous. While I might have used some harsh words here, it’s better than it getting out and becoming a laughingstock for others, right?! Imagine what the public will say about General Leefer, not to mention the unflattering impressions like being a blockhead that would inevitably follow!”

The command room fell silent, the generals all at a loss for words.

Even though they knew Fatty was being evasive, and that the bandit army was indeed his troops, technically every word he said could hold up logically, confidently!

If word got out, the consequences could be quite unpleasant.

After all, under the banner, the bandit army isn’t part of the Fei Alliance, much less linked to Leefer. Ordering them as if one has authority is purely presumptuous and self-humiliating.

Being scolded by Fatty, Leefer couldn’t even retort!

Moreover, within the Alliance forces, Fatty’s direct superior was Bernadotte. Even if Fatty scolded Leefer, it wouldn’t warrant a military tribunal. Apart from putting pressure on Bernadotte, Leefer had no direct authority to deal with Fatty. As long as Bernadotte did nothing, Leefer had to endure the setback.

Would Bernadotte take action against Fatty?

Don’t be naive. Just by the sideways glance Bernadotte gave Leefer, it was clear he and Fatty were birds of a feather.

Some generals who couldn’t stand Leefer had to bite their tongues hard to stop themselves from laughing out loud.

That Fatty, he’s truly something!

”Enough!” Bernadotte broke the silence. He shook his head with a deep sigh, solemnly stating, ”In this matter, let’s consider General Leefer in the wrong. Since the bandit army doesn’t mind, let’s leave it at that. Major General Tian, have a look at the attached list after the combat report; it’s a list of our scientific research team members trapped on Canglang Star. More importantly, Chuckna Marshal Li Cunxin is also there.”

The generals felt sorry for Leefer; this Leray veteran and novice duo were certainly no pushovers. Bernadotte’s bite into Leefer was incisive, beyond polite! Quietly, he unequivocally positioned Leefer as wrong.

In the midst of the conversation, Fatty had already reviewed the list. With one glance, his expression changed.

”Damn it!”

Fatty’s words hit like a thunderclap, once again making all the generals’ heads spin.

”The bandit army cannot go there; at most, I can take a few people!” Fatty’s face was ashen: ”Marshal Li Cunxin is my idol. For the sake of our loyal ally, the Chuckna Republic, no matter how dangerous, I must rescue Marshal Li!”

Bernadotte nodded, saying nothing further.

The two exchanged a glance and disconnected the communication.

Before the screen went black, Fatty saw Admiral Rabinowski of Chuckna grab Bernadotte’s hand, too moved to speak.

”Give me two and a half hours.” Fatty turned to look at Douglas on another communication screen.

”Alright!” Douglas didn’t ask why.

From the moment Fatty saved Claudia, he had already decided to be this Fatty’s lifelong friend!

More than two hours later, the radar officer’s report answered Douglas’s question.

Outside the window, the Hanfrey Fleet was in a state of chaotic agitation.

Behind them, a massive fleet appeared on the radar screen.
