Counterfeit Hero

In just one night, Canglang Star completely fell into his hands. So far, the Western Alliance Army on Canglang Star has increased to twenty-six armored divisions and thirty fully mechanized infantry divisions. All the air ports have fallen into the hands of the Western Alliance forces.

The Feiyang generals present felt frustrated because Mikami Yuto was mobilizing his three super fleets right under their noses, yet no one saw through his real intentions.

When the three super fleets, Yingri, Thunderbolt, and Storm, left Jiepeng Military Port and disappeared into the vast universe, the intelligence department and the staff department still assumed that these fleets would detour via the Bermuda Star System to the Saleria Longbow Star System to reclaim the control area of Longbow Star System. If Mikami Yuto had other plans, it would be at most to attack the Newton Star System and suppress the Fei Alliance Southeastern United Army to the Galileo Star System or even Gazalin.

Unexpectedly, only Yingri went to the Bermuda Star System, while the other two passed through Suss and entered the Resk Star System, launching a surprise attack.

Mikami Yuto’s move to strike east while pointing west certainly took everyone by surprise. The fact that Suss agreed to lend passage was even more astonishing.

It should be noted that although Suss and the Republic are allies, these two old military empires have always been wary of each other. The royal families of both empires are quite ambitious. To take the risk of letting the other side understand their military deployments, draw interstellar route maps, and conduct electronic reconnaissance without restraint and allow the other side’s military fleets to pass through their Star Domain is almost impossible for Emperor Su.

But surprisingly, the Suss people agreed!

In hindsight, Mikami Yuto’s move was not without clues. First, the situation in Resk was extremely disadvantageous for Suss. When they were unable to send new reinforcements, using allied forces became inevitable. Rather than lose Resk, bury Suss’s main force in Resk, and let the war fire burn into Suss’s border, it was better to let their allies pass through.

At least, no matter how ambitious the Jiepeng Empire was, they wouldn’t want to make a move on the Suss Empire at this point.

Secondly, from the overall strategy of the Western Alliance, Longbow Star System has already been attacked by Hanfrey’s two Elephant-class Royal Fleets. Behind Hanfrey are Desic’s 5th Group Fleet and the Su-Jie Alliance stationed in Bermuda and the Leray Central Star System. Even if Mikami Yuto seeks revenge, sending one fleet would be more than enough. After all, moving a fleet results in a vast amount of material and financial consumption, and getting angry over losing Longbow Star System doesn’t match his style.

Moreover, the three great super fleets under him are the ace of Jiepeng; now doesn’t seem to be the time to deploy these three super fleets.

Of course, these were all analyses made after the fact. At that time, the Resk battle had entered a critical period, the Mars Channel battle had seen the defeat and retreat of Chuckna’s 12th Group Fleet, and the Longbow Star System was facing attacks from the Hanfrey Fleet. All these had already attracted the attention of all the Fei Alliance generals. No one expected Mikami Yuto to be able to skillfully leverage circumstances, using one strike east while pointing west to achieve an unexpected victory.

Mikami Yuto, the number one general of Jiepeng, indeed lives up to his name. Perhaps, the entire plan had already taken shape in Mikami Yuto’s mind when Longbow Star System was first ambushed. Hanfrey, coming at the opportune moment, was merely his front tool to draw attention!

And now, everyone is most concerned about the Feiyang 19th Group Fleet in the Longbow Star System!

Everyone understands that now Resk has become an even more terrifying meat grinder than Stalingrad during Earth’s World War II. Both sides are in a tug-of-war, and whoever can’t hold on will lose the entire Southeast Star Domain, as well as the current war balance. Defeat would lead to a collapse, something no one wants to see. If Longbow Star System can hold on for some time, the Supreme Command can still mobilize reserve forces to invest in the Resk battle. If the Douglas Fleet is annihilated, then facing the Western Alliance’s two-pronged assault, the Resk battle will become even harder.

”General Leefer. Didn’t expect you’d be invited too...” Seeing Leefer, Admiral Leon Yulis of the Ryan Republic came up to shake his hand, sighing, ”It seems the Alliance Council and the Supreme Command Department are really anxious.”

Yulis, as a senior military officer of the Ryans, the ally most closely associated with Feiyang, has collaborated many times with Leefer in joint military exercises and regional actions, hence they are very familiar with each other and speak with little formality.

”What’s the use of rushing?” Leefer concentrated on the electronic sandbox, letting out a cold snort expressionlessly, turning to look at several combat staff nearby: ”What’s the situation on Leifeng Star? Has Douglas made contact?”

Before the staff could respond, Yulis had already waved at them, personally explaining: ”The situation at Leifeng Star hasn’t been affected yet. Six Suss armored divisions and nine fully mechanized infantry divisions have been suppressed east of the Nobis Plain by our allied army. However, as the forward base on Canglang Star has fallen, frontline supplies and air support will be affected as time goes by. At present, the Western Alliance Fleet is attacking everywhere, raiding all Fei Alliance vessels on the Resk Channel. Their main force is also seeking an opportunity to attack Leifeng Star. Judging from both sides’ combat strength comparison, they will likely land on Leifeng Star within a week.”
