Counterfeit Hero

People were either dazed or agitated, letting out all sorts of exclamations.

The exclamations abruptly stopped!

The three battleships and one cruiser charging at the front, in different angles, swiftly collided with the nearly paralyzed Space Carrier.

Crazy, these ragged warships, they’ve all gone mad?!

It was a silent picture, sketched at a speed exceeding a hundred kilometers per second!

Under the first wave’s four ragged warships’ fierce ramming beaks, the carrier’s thick hull cracked open terrifying gaps in an instant, outer armor quickly twisted and shattered, becoming pieces large and small, flying into endless void. Large chunks of debris detached from the warship, rolling flames gushed out from inside the hull, while the ship’s cracks kept twisting and expanding.

Before warriors from both sides could react, several dark shadows flashed past amidst the light of Energy Cannon and explosions!

The second wave included a total of six warships. With a more frenzied and fierce posture than the first wave, they collided with the carrier! Two waves of attacks, ten warships, like ten harpoons driven into the body of a shark!

After the harpoons struck successfully, they quickly withdrew, their menacing ramming beaks tearing at the carrier’s cracks!

The massive body of the Feiyu Aircraft Carrier shivered helplessly in the void. Already riddled with holes from the bandit army’s main cannon salvo, how could it withstand such incredible butchery?

At this moment, its side propulsion wings and giant tail wing started to break apart. A nearly hundred-meter-long crack on its belly rapidly spread. Countless bodies, instruments, and fragments were thrown into the air. Large chunks of the hull ruptured with electric sparks. Flames inside the hull rolled in the leaking air, like lava, cracked from the already solidified volcanic rock of the shell.

Douglas’s eyes twitched: ”Hanfrey... Already turned to slag, huh?”

*******************************************************************************************

”Who is he?!”

In the core defense cabin of the Feiyu Aircraft Carrier, Hanfrey stared in a daze at the surveillance cameras covering the entire ship, transmitting bloody images to the defense cabin’s control console screen. He couldn’t believe everything in front of him. If it weren’t for the Imperial Power class carrier having this escape pod made entirely of Super Alloy specifically for Advanced Commanders, he too would be wailing in despair like the officers and soldiers outside.

Hanfrey was not someone who easily lost control of his emotions. The rigorous noble upbringing from childhood had long etched composure and grace into his bones. In his view, a true noble should not lose their poise even with a gun at their head.

However, he overrated his own tolerance and nerves.

This battle, victory was originally within his grasp. Yet unexpectedly, in this area most unlikely to be ambushed, just when victory was within reach, an invisible hand turned everything upside down!

Hanfrey could not accept such an outcome.

For him, this was a disgrace! Many years ago, a battle with Douglas had already become a thorn in his heart. Originally, this thorn could be easily removed in this destined duel, but someone had calculated against him. Not only did they drive this thorn deeper but also planted another one beside it.

He knew it wouldn’t be the Feiyang people’s fleet.

He had heard about the events at Mars Free Port and also knew that this Star Domain once was controlled by this ragged fleet for a while. He was even aware of many details of the battle where Suss’s transport fleet and the A1A2 fleet were annihilated. Initially, he didn’t take this seriously. But today, he realized this fleet was a more dangerous looming problem than Douglas. For himself and the entire Binart Empire, it was the same.

The danger lay in their stealth methods. If three hundred aircraft could still possibly escape fleet detection, then those dozens of warships absolutely couldn’t be hidden with ordinary stealth methods.

Appearing silently two hundred kilometers from his carrier fleet couldn’t be explained except that they possess stealth technology which even Binart’s technology couldn’t detect. This isn’t an empty Jump Channel, attempting to jump amidst so many asteroids is a suicide mission. Nor is this the pitch-black depths of a nebula. The small planetary belt, scant gases and dust can’t conceal so many warships.

Thus it’s conceivable, once such stealth technology is widely used in the Fei Alliance Fleet, what harm it could cause to the Western Alliance forces.

The screen flickered, the intense vibrations continuously shaking the defense cabin.

Hanfrey’s face alternated between light and shadow from the screen’s illumination.

Stealth technology is not the most terrifying thing. After all, the military technological prowess of Binart Empire is also not something the Feiyang Republic understands. As long as a single enemy ship could be captured, this technology can be deciphered. There are many tactical ways to mitigate risks as well. Besides, that’s a distant concern. The real threat is the commander of this ragged fleet right in front of him! It’s an imminent deadly threat.

What matters now is to escape from here safely!

Since graduating from the Military Academy, this was the first time Hanfrey felt his confidence start to waver.

Recalling the entire campaign. In the first four stages, Douglas had been forced back step by step by him. But in this fifth stage of the campaign, everything seemed reversed.
