Counterfeit Hero

Behind the console is an elliptical half-height platform, where the Combat Staff Department is located. The combat staff, who are frowning and whispering in front of the electronic interstellar map and simulation platform, hold the lowest rank of Lieutenant. Compared to the regular officers in front of the console, their uniforms are more splendid, and there’s a greater sense of pride in their expressions.

Above the Combat Department is the Central Command Platform.

This is the core hub of the entire fleet, with the control seats of the intelligence, combat, and logistics liaison officers arranged in a reverse triangle, tightly surrounding the central command seat.

The central command seat is horseshoe-shaped, protruding forward, situated at the very center of the command room. Standing on the central command seat offers a panoramic view of the entire command room, evoking a sense of everything being under control.

On the front of the creamy white metal console, three virtual light screens suspended in mid-air are changing light and casting shadows on Douglas’s face, making it alternately bright and dark.

Douglas gently tapped twice on the virtual keyboard on the side of his armrest, switching one of the screens. Instantly, the fleet formation map appeared before him.

The ship cursors, each carrying its respective number, had entered the designated grid spaces on the formation map. When the last grid space at the bottom-right corner of the formation was filled by a cruiser, Douglas felt the obvious tremor of the Athena Space Carrier.

From the chair speakers, came the command voice of the fleet coordinator and the responses from various ships. Douglas looked out through the massive window, where hundreds of warships surrounding the carrier had all activated their rear thrusters. Hundreds of blue ion streams clustered together like a constellation, shining brightly.

Four Gods-class carriers, thirty-two Unicorn A-level battleships, eighty Frenzied Shark-class heavy cruisers, one hundred and twenty Young Lion-class destroyers, and more than thirty non-combat vessels!

This is the power in his hand, unrestrained across the Southeast Star Domain!

The low roar of the counterforce devices grew increasingly sullen, a force pulling at the body. Douglas closed his eyes; this phenomenon occurring when the ships accelerate is something he has experienced countless times, yet each time brings a sense of an out-of-body experience.

He drifted into a deep sleep. Before this, he hadn’t slept for more than thirty hours. He knew what responsibilities he bore, constantly treading carefully.

Time slipped by silently. When Douglas opened his eyes again under the call of his strictly conditioned biological clock, a blue planet had already appeared in the optical long-range viewer of the battleship.

The hurriedly activating Jiepeng fleet in the spaceport, patrol ships attempting to close in and intercept at the periphery, and even the Jiepeng soldiers running on the docks were clearly visible.

Douglas looked outside the window. In the starry sky, the Feiyang Battleships, with their power systems fully activated, roared like lions staring at their prey, struggling to break free from their ropes.

”Attack!” He uttered the word he had buried deep in his heart for a long time.

The massive body of the Vast Carrier turned in the air, with six secondary cannons already aligned towards the enemy ships from the bow, simultaneously firing out six straight trajectories of light clusters. The furiously rotating turret shed thousands of energy cannon lights in the silent universe. In the light of the cannon fire, a dozen agile fighter planes bit down hard on enemy aircraft rushing into the fleet’s main formation, firing desperately.

In the starry sky of the Rose Star System, countless flashes flickered one after another. The entire universe was illuminated by the glow of the energy cannons. The flashing cannon fire resembled a silent string of electric fireworks ignited in the night.

”What’s the damage?!”

In the noisy and chaotic command room, Zhang Pengcheng had to shout loudly for the staff officer almost hitting his nose to hear his question clearly.

”Boom!”

An energy cannon hit the left side of the Vast’s hull. The huge battleship suddenly shook, and Zhang Pengcheng almost dug his fingers into the hard metal armrest of the command seat to barely keep himself from falling. The staff officer beside him had already been thrown out, hitting his forehead on the railing of the command platform, with blood streaming.

The lights in the command room quickly flickered once.

”Damn it!” Zhang Pengcheng knew this was a signal of damage to the carrier’s power system.

”Our battle fleet currently has two battleships, two cruisers, and four destroyers destroyed, one cruiser incapacitated,” reported the bloodied staff officer as he struggled to stand.

”What about Dragon Spear and Curved Blade?!” Zhang Pengcheng shouted loudly.

”Still unable to contact them!” The staff officer’s head was dripping with blood onto the deck in large drops.

Outside the window, countless clusters of energy cannon lights crisscrossed in the void.

On September 4, 2063, the Alliance forces of Fei Alliance’s Eastern Theater were assembled, and Chuckna Republic promptly launched a major counter-offensive aimed at thoroughly eradicating Suss’s foothold on Leifeng Star, the second immigration star in the Resk Star System. On the same day, the Suss Empire completed its sixth reinforcement of the Resk Star System. The focus of the contest between the two sides in Resk shifted from space to the ground.

On September 5, 2063, the Feiyang 19th Group Fleet successfully launched a surprise attack on the Western Alliance’s base at Saleria Blue Stone Star.

On the same day, two Royal Elephant-class fleets of the Binart Empire and the Desic Empire’s 5th Group Fleet quietly arrived at Leray Central Star System.

Also on this day, the Suss fleet attacking Mars Free Port, under Gershkov’s command, suddenly abandoned their week-long chase with Chuckna’s 12th Fleet, which had been lured into the Rose Star System, and rushed at full speed towards the Jump Point in Ernst Star System.

Unaware, the Chuckna Fleet, to maintain the threat against the Suss fleet, was forced to retreat. Unexpectedly, during the retreat, the Suss fleet used an ambush of electronic ships to seize the electronic control zone first, with the main force suddenly turning back in the Christmas Tree Nebula to launch an attack on the Chuckna fleet, while two previously missing Suss A-level fleets emerged behind the Chuckna 12th Group Fleet.

The Chuckna 12th Group Fleet’s maneuvering space was closed off, forcing an all-out battle, dragged into a decisive engagement by the Suss fleet.

Electric storms and thunder rumbled across the Southeast Star Domain!

In the early morning of September 6, 2063, the bandit army fleet entered the Longbow Star System, traveling along the Vine Nebula towards the Jump Point in the Bermuda Star System.

. Thought and reconsidered, ultimately decided to gather to write. My skills weren’t enough, and the more I struggled, the worse it became. I really wanted to write these spread-out parts in more detail, but concerning readers’ opinions on this aspect, I remain conflicted. Now, I am closing my eyes and returning to the old path, hoping to control these types of situations better in the future.
