Counterfeit Hero

Fatty heard the praise and grinned with a sly delight.

Margaret, tired of dealing with the petty, vengeful Fatty who had been cross with her since the tournament began, turned away and said to Fang Xiang, ”I believe, General Douglas is most likely to choose the 3rd Airspace.”

”Oh?” Fang Xiang glanced at the thoughtful Fatty without leaving a trace and asked, ”Why?”

”General Douglas is meticulous and cautious in combat and would never choose the Second Airspace. Although Kouxian Star is the second-largest immigration planet in the Longbow Star System and has a natural interstellar defensive position, he wouldn’t put himself in danger, and certainly wouldn’t burn his bridges. This can be ruled out. As for the First Airspace, although it has over a dozen obstacle zones in a row and engages with the Western Alliance Fleet, and is very close to Blue Stone Star, it’s not conducive for four A-class fleets to move simultaneously. And the proximity to Blue Stone Star is a double-edged sword. If the Western Alliance gains control of Blue Stone Star, it becomes a base for exterminating the Nineteen Group Fleet.”

Margaret stood in front of the interstellar map, moving her finger along it, and analyzed meticulously, ”Therefore, the best choice is the Second Airspace. Besides having the Jump Channel and obstacle zone for strategic maneuvering, more importantly, General Douglas, who excels in defense, can leverage this small planet and its surrounding complex environment to engage in a positional battle with the Western Alliance. This way, there’s more leeway in achieving the strategic goals set by the United Command.”

Fatty perked up his ears, listening to Margaret’s analysis while examining the interstellar map in front of him. As soon as Margaret finished speaking, he pointed to a marked obstacle zone adjacent to Torreclais Star and asked Fang Xiang, ”What is this place?”

Fang Xiang glanced at the spot Fatty pointed to and replied, ”This is the Chaotic Stone Barrier Zone. It’s an asteroid belt on the route from Torreclais to Resource Planet No. 1, often referred to as the Chaotic Stone Zone by passing mining ships, and the name stuck. This obstacle zone isn’t large, and if a warship travels at full speed, it only takes a minute or two to pass through. You can’t hide in here. Besides, it’s filled with asteroids less than a kilometer in diameter, which can’t serve as a defensive position.”

”Oh?” Fatty zoomed in on the interstellar map, intently studying this area filled with floating rocks of all sizes without rest.

”If the Western Alliance passes through here, perhaps..... we could set up an ambush here.” Fatty lightly dragged his finger across the virtual screen, further enlarging the interstellar map, revealing several brownish-yellow stones slowly rotating on the screen.

Fang Xiang’s eyes followed Fatty’s finger, and when the likely route and formation of a Western Alliance Fleet crossing this obstacle zone appeared before them, she couldn’t help but exclaim in shock, ”Are you saying........Center Bloom Strategy?!”

”Capture the leader to capture the band....” Fatty gritted his teeth.

The Hidden Blade Fleet can’t pin all their hopes on the Feiyang Fleet, and they absolutely can’t wait for the Jiepeng Fleet to flood the Longbow Star System. The only hope lies in taking advantage of the gap between the Binart Empire Fleet and Jiepeng Fleet to complete a breakthrough.

This is a risky move. Given the current situation in Bermuda, the Hidden Blade Fleet has a detection probability of over ninety percent. Meaning, once the Hidden Blade Fleet breaches the Bermuda Jump Point, they will be under enemy pursuit. At this time, if the Binart Empire Fleet returns to block the jump point of the Longbow Star System, it would mean the nearly depleted Hidden Blade Fleet has no escape route.

To create a lifeline for the Hidden Blade Fleet, the Binart Empire Fleet must be prevented from blocking the jump point. In other words, the Feiyang Fleet must either engage them or defeat them!

It sounds easier to engage them than defeat them, but for the bandit army, that’s not the case. Fatty doesn’t expect the defensive or mobile Feiyang Fleet to actively engage the Binart Fleet, as it might drag them into a decisive battle. General Douglas wouldn’t risk that. So, they can only rely on themselves!

Given the current size and strength of the bandit army fleet, hoping to engage the Binart Empire Fleet is simply wishful thinking.

Thus, after seeing the asteroid belt, Fatty had only one thought left — destroy their flagship!

This was a crazy decision. Fang Xiang saw Fatty gritting his teeth, thinking he was ready to strike ruthlessly, unaware that this Federation Hero was always a coward, but now pushed to the brink, ready to risk everything.

The gritting teeth were merely to hide the trembling muscles on his face.

”Contact General Douglas.......we need their assistance.” Fatty gave the order almost with his eyes closed.

”Hey....” A cold laugh came from the side.

Fatty opened his eyes, just in time to see Margaret pulling her gaze from the interstellar map and looking at him as though he were an idiot, saying, ”Center Bloom Strategy? ....... Do you think your warships are invisible?”

”General Douglas, the armored units have boarded the ships. Fleet 19A2 and 19A3 have left the port, and all personnel in Fleet 19A1 and 19A4 have boarded. An hour remains until the material loading is complete.”

A lieutenant colonel’s report interrupted Douglas’s contemplation at the simulation table. He straightened, about to speak, when he saw his chief of staff, Pang Mingjian, striding rapidly towards him.
