Counterfeit Hero

Countless battleships squeezed past each other from outside the Chaotic Stone Zone, passing through it. Equally countless battleships were forced to change course, blocking the suddenly narrowed channel, intercepting the enemy.

The command room of the Athena was silent. At this moment, there was no need for command anymore. Except for the ejection channel still desperately releasing and recovering fighters, still trying to offer a shred of hope to the slaughtered ally ships, the entire battleship was like a silent tomb. Every warrior was stifled by immense sorrow.

After over a hundred hours of relentless fighting, the end was finally nearing.

Everyone understood that the 19th Group Fleet was at the brink of collapse. Beyond this point, there were no positions left to utilize. Passing through the asteroid belt might offer a glimmer of hope, but those left behind, turning to face the enemy, would forever rest in this Domain. A command to turn was, in essence, a decision to die.

Before the enemy’s tremendous assault firepower, the rear-guard 12A1 fleet melted away like snow under the sun. One battleship after another turned into fireworks in the starry sky.

They were using their lives to cover the retreat of their comrades behind.

The communication screen twisted for a moment before presenting the image of a ship captain.

His battleship trembled violently, the control room behind him in disarray. Fierce Fire was devouring everything. From the screen’s audio, one could even hear the ship breaking apart.

”General Douglas...” The captain, unexpectedly able to connect despite losing most electronic equipment and power, laughed heartily, tears flowing from his eyes amidst the laughter: ”Remember to commend us. We destroyed two Destroyers...” Before he could finish his words, the screen was swallowed by a sudden eruption of flames.

As the fire roared up on the screen, a female lieutenant finally burst into tears. As the communications officer, she knew this was just one of many. There were many more ships that didn’t even have the chance to connect for a farewell.

”Long live the Feiyang Republic!” Another battleship disappeared from the radar. Their voices faintly echoed from the communication channel.

”Turn the rudder! Idiot, turn the rudder!” The main control pilot of the Athena gritted his teeth, staring at the screen.

On the screen of the optical long-range viewer, a battleship was fighting while retreating. It had reached the edge of the asteroid belt, with two other ships ahead of it. As long as it turned, it could break free from the battle.

As the main control pilot pleaded for the twentieth time for the colleague on the battleship to turn the rudder, the battleship charged straight into the swarm of enemy ships.

Despite being riddled with holes, it did not turn the rudder till the last moment. Its stubborn silhouette covered the retreat of two other battleships and a cruiser into the asteroid belt. When the light far brighter than a Constant Star suddenly shone in the black void, the main control pilot covered his face. He had never cried even when his father passed away, yet now his face was streaked with tears.

Douglas’s hand tightly grasped the railing of the command seat. His lips were pale, his eyes filled with uncontrollable pain.

In over a hundred hours, he remained unable to find Hanfrey’s weakness.

The two Royal Elephant-class Fleets were like two giant beasts, though bloodied by his attacks, they steadily cornered him. Sneak attacks, maneuvers, all methods that could allow the weak to defeat the strong, were rendered ineffective in the face of Hanfrey’s steady tactics.

Damn Tian Xingjian!

Where exactly are you?!

”Very resilient!” Hanfrey undid the regulation button of his uniform.

The fierce battle made it impossible for him to maintain his composure.

He hadn’t expected the Feiyang people to be so resilient.....After over a hundred hours against the Binart Fleet, whose combat strength almost tripled theirs, they continued to resist methodically, without collapsing.

Indeed, the combat power comparison between the Feiling and Feiyu Fleet against the Feiyang 19th Group Fleet was not merely estimated by the general public as double, but actually triple.

Few knew that a Royal Elephant-class Fleet wasn’t simply the sum of two Royal Lion-class Fleets or four Royal Eagle-class Fleets in terms of numbers. This was the Binart Empire’s most formidable power, crafted by a mind beyond human imagination, over ten years, consuming unimaginable monetary and human resources, to create a super force. Although from the battleship’s appearance, every ship seemed identical to those in the Lion-class Fleet. Nonetheless, only the individuals piloting these ships knew that Lion-class Fleet ships had less than a 30% chance of prevailing when facing these ships!

Take the Giant Wave-class battleship for example. The combat performance of a standard Giant Wave-class battleship is roughly comparable to Feiyang’s Unicorn battleship. The radar detection range diameter is two hundred thousand kilometers, with a precise detection range of fifty thousand kilometers, and an electronic interference strength rated at Sixth-level. The attack system’s combined rating for main cannon charge speed, strike precision, attack strength, and sustained combat capability is Level 5, defense system rated Level 4, battleship propulsion system Level 6, and power system Level 6.

However, the Giant Wave. Modified equipped with the Royal Elephant-class Fleet, despite looking identical to the standard Giant Wave on the outside, has entirely different internal structures.
