Counterfeit Hero

”Collide?”

Margaret looked at Fatty in astonishment, wondering if she had misheard.

However, the subsequent actions of the bandit army’s officers and soldiers completely dispelled her doubts about her hearing.

After a furious order from Fatty, the entire command room erupted into chaos. The sound of commands and calls was incessant. Margaret saw with her own eyes a staff officer responsible for fleet coordination jumping up and giving orders: ”Collide, Magic, ram it!”

Except for the aircraft carrier which still maintained invisibility without movement, all the other battleships around fully opened their thruster nozzles. After just two seconds of stillness, they shot straight toward Hanfrey’s flagship.

The course, the angle, the speed... if not preparing for a collision, then what?

Margaret covered her forehead and moaned. She didn’t know how many secrets this strange fleet held, but now she finally understood that the ramming beaks on the bows of these ragged warships were definitely not just for show!

These guys are a bunch of lunatics!

The universe, desolate and profound!

No matter up, down, left, or right, all you see is boundless darkness.

The gaze dives into the Longbow Star System, like a bowl of silver sand. Amidst brilliant stars, an orange-red constant star quietly emits light and heat in all directions.

However, compared to the vast universe, this star belonging to the Longbow Star System’s Pyramid constellation is far from enough to pierce the eternal black curtain. Most light that ventures into the distance eventually vanishes into the endless void. Only a specially fortunate portion falls onto the planets orbiting the star, lands on the gas and dust of the nebula, turning into a beautiful gown of dusk.

A trace of gold silently flows over slowly rotating rocks.

Without an atmosphere to envelop and refract light, there is no azure sky. It is merely a tiny asteroid belt composed of diffused gas dust and countless small planets.

In the eternal black void, the asteroid belt glows with a streak of golden light, graceful in form.

A flash of white light, and a battleship’s main cannon streaks through the void, grazes the edge of a tumbling brown rock, and hits another battleship changing course to evade. The intense explosion illuminates the starry sky, lighting up countless floating rocks and the countless interwoven battleships between them.

Both fleets, as if drawn into the smoke of a magic lamp, quickly contracted toward the center.

No one expected that two Elephant-class Royal Fleets, reputed to be the pinnacle force of the Binart Empire, despite having absolute electronic and informational superiority, failed to detect the bandit army fleet hiding in this asteroid belt visible to the naked eye.

The attack occurred too quickly, from when those ragged battleships appeared to the end of the attack, the surrounding Feiyang people and Binart people didn’t even have time to blink.

Now, the cheers of Feiyang Soldiers and the gasps of Binart Soldiers had ceased.

Everything already surpassed the limits of their imagination. As if in a play reaching a climax, when all actors poured themselves in, tears streaming and cries rising, suddenly a person in a beggar’s outfit jumped out, laughing aloud, and slapped the leading lady. The entire stage froze in shock. Time, at this moment, stood still.

Though everyone frantically rushed towards the center of the stage, all understood the protagonist of this battlefield was no longer them.

The person in the beggar’s outfit became the protagonist, standing there. Less than two hundred kilometers from him, the battered and smoking Feiyu Aircraft Carrier, like the leading lady in the play, awaited in shock for the drama to continue.

How would the altered, unrecognizable plot develop further? What’s the next line?

The Feiyu Fleet’s fighters will arrive in less than a minute. Yet the bandit army fleet, having conducted a joint volley, requires at least two to three minutes of charging time. During this period, solely relying on turrets and entangled fighters, how could they possibly destroy the aircraft carrier guarded by two battleships, with extraordinary defense? Must they watch helplessly as time and victory slip through their grasp?

In the silence, the stage lights began to spin again, the music started to play.

Dozens of ragged warships raced to increase their speed, shooting like arrows at the slow-moving aircraft carrier.

”Where did these warships come from?!” a Binart Captain crazily tugged at his few, lifeline-like strands of hair.

No one answered him.

”What are they trying to do?” a Feiyang ship captain leaned forward, at a loss for words.

Again, no one answered him.

All officers and soldiers stared dumbfounded at this ragged fleet rushing towards Hanfrey’s flagship with mad determination. Even breathing paused at this moment; no one could hear the ship captain’s questions.

A distance of two hundred kilometers, which might take four or five hours to cover in ground warfare, is merely a blink of an eye in this void.

”Oh, my God.”

A mechanic’s wrench clattered to the deck.

A beautiful female medic covered her mouth with her hand.

A communications officer, like a wooden statue, stared at the screen, while frantic calls continued to emerge from his headphones...
