Counterfeit Hero

”The aircraft carrier’s weakness!” Fatty scratched his belly.

”Mid-to-aft section, between the dual outlet steering propulsions and the main propulsion! That’s the weakest point in the Imperial Power-class aircraft carrier’s armor. Below that is the hangar!” Margaret’s eyes were filled with utter shock and utter confusion.

Fatty turned his head. On the other side, Carl was sweating profusely as he liaised with the reconnaissance ship.

”Enemy high-speed destroyer-cruiser formation has entered the first alert zone! In ten minutes, the enemy battleship main formation will enter the first alert zone! In twelve minutes, the enemy Feiyu aircraft carrier will enter the first alert!”

”Enemy high-speed destroyer-cruiser formation has entered the second alert zone! In three minutes, the enemy battleship main formation will enter the first alert zone! In five minutes, the enemy Feiyu aircraft carrier will enter the first alert zone!”

The liaison officer’s voice grew more and more anxious.

The bandit army’s officers and soldiers stared at each other, their faces turning exceptionally tense.

But Margaret heard nothing. At this moment, her mind was in chaos. Although Fatty did not directly answer her question, everything had become very clear. The only thought running through her mind was—falling out with Fatty over the Binart Mecha might have been the worst decision of her life!

”Enemy high-speed destroyer-cruiser formation has crossed the ambush line! In six minutes, the enemy battleship main formation will enter the second alert zone! In eight minutes, the enemy Feiyu aircraft carrier will enter the second alert zone, and in six minutes, the enemy Feiling aircraft carrier will enter the first alert zone!”

”Feiyang 19th Group Fleet’s [Kaz] battleship has been destroyed, [Fayenne] cruiser has been destroyed, [Kilimanjaro] battleship has been destroyed...Fleet 12A1 has been intercepted! Hanfrey’s destroyer-cruiser formation has circled in front of them!”

All eyes were on Carl. The clock on the wall seemed to be ticking faster!

The bandit army has only one chance to attack the opponent’s aircraft carrier. If they cannot identify the flagship when the aircraft carrier enters the ambush zone, then...... Fatty’s heartbeat accelerated. He hadn’t imagined that with the bandit army’s electronic capabilities, they would be unable to identify the opponent’s flagship. After all, the electronic reconnaissance ships carry the latest technological achievements from a bunch of the bandit army’s tech geeks.

In previous tests, the electronic reconnaissance ship had completely suppressed the electronic system of that picked-up Feiyang Unicorn-class battleship in less than ten minutes.

And now, three electronic reconnaissance ships were merely capturing and analyzing signals from the enemy, yet they couldn’t break through the enemy’s electronic defenses. This was an unexpected change, which might lead the bandit army to target the wrong ship!

”Enemy battleship group has entered the ambush line, in two minutes and thirty seconds, the enemy Feiyu aircraft carrier will enter the ambush zone!”

The liaison officer clutched the communicator tightly, watching unblinkingly at the transparent operation room on the right side of the central command platform.

Fatty and Fang Xiang stood up almost simultaneously!

”Two minutes!”

”The jets are in attack position, waiting for the attack command!”

”One minute and thirty seconds!”

”One minute!”

”The Feiyu’s fighter group has entangled the Feiyang [Mermaid] battleship! God, [Mermaid] can’t hold on!”

”Claudia sister!” Margaret, who had been silent, suddenly called out.

”Forty-five seconds! The enemy’s fighter group entered the ambush zone early! [Mermaid] ship can’t retreat!”

”Thirty....”

The liaison officer’s shouting suddenly stopped.

With all eyes on him, Carl raised his head and wiped the sweat off his face.

”Flagship, Feiyu!”

. I feel like the story I’m writing places me in a dried-up river valley filled with jagged rocks, facing massive stones, unsure of which path to take. Meanwhile, the readers stand on the high banks, using their vision to find the route. I still hope that, regardless of highs and lows, everyone can follow my steps to find the bright moments after overcoming a big rock.

. I’m really not dragging the plot!
