Counterfeit Hero

Currently, the ”Oracle” Space Carrier is situated in the shadow of a grayish-brown asteroid with a diameter of nearly six kilometers, located slightly to the left within the asteroid belt. Next to ”Oracle” are the ”Holy Sword” Battleship and the ”Holy Light” Battleship. Positioned approximately two hundred kilometers around ”Oracle” are five other battleships, including the recently retrofitted ”Pars” Unicorn-class Battleship of Feiyang.

Together, these warships and the carrier form an attack formation resembling a spider web.

On both wings of the main formation, twenty ”Fierce Bandit”-class Armed Merchant Ships, twenty-six ”Group Fight” Heavy Assault Ships, and ten ”Ghost”-class Destroyers are arranged in a simplified Luu Zecheng Formation pattern, arrayed in an arc straight line. The eleven most powerful ”Magic”-class cruisers, led by ”Magic Cube” and ”Magic”, are split into two teams, pressed at the ends of the formation, surrounding the main formation to create two satellite attack groups.

The entire ambush formation is arranged according to the terrain of the asteroid belt. No matter which direction the enemy ships enter from, when the warships pass through the tail of the droplet-shaped asteroid belt, they will inevitably enter the ambush zone of the bandit army! Besides, Douglas’s battle plan also specifies the retreat fleet’s route. He doesn’t believe Hanfrey won’t take the bait!

Carl’s report continued: ”However... the reconnaissance ship has preliminarily determined that Hanfrey’s flagship should be either the ”Feiling” carrier from the Feiling Fleet or the ”Feiyu” carrier from the Feiyu Fleet!”

”One of them?! Can you confirm it?!”

”Although interference cannot yet be completely ruled out, and complete command signals are not captured, the reconnaissance ship found that the carrier’s active signal characteristics are most obvious, which matches the Binart Empire’s Royal Fleet’s practice of using carriers as flagships, as well as the positions and surrounding escorts of enemy fleet carriers in previous battles.”

Fatty was filled with indignation. That pretty boy named Hanfrey is so damn annoying!

Not only is he good-looking, but he’s an Admiral and a Duke; what’s most infuriating is that he actually chose a carrier as his flagship!

If it were a battleship, once inside the ambush circle, it would basically be dead. However, if it’s a carrier, the battle becomes much more complex. With the bandit army fleet’s current strength, it’s impossible to instantly destroy a giant carrier. That implies a dangerous battle—damn it, why doesn’t this guy get the hint? We could establish some mutual understanding, have me poke a few holes in you quickly, and call it a day for tea, wouldn’t that be nice?

”Any data on this kind of carrier...?” Fatty rubbed his chin.

”Very little!” Fang Xiang, seated by the white conference table, replied helplessly: ”The Imperial Power-class carrier has always been a high secret of the Binart Empire. Other than its size and roughly estimated combat performance, we know nothing else.”

As Fang Xiang’s words fell, the automatic door opened and Margaret walked into the operations room.

”I know the weakness of the Imperial Power-class carrier!” Margaret walked straight up to Fatty: ”But I want to see your battle plan!”

”Battle plan?” Fatty looked bewildered: ”You already know, don’t you?”

”Not the one for Douglas,” Margaret said plainly, gazing into Fatty’s eyes: ”I want to see your action details!”

”Why should I?!” Fatty jumped up: ”I’m helping you fight this war!”

Margaret remained unmoved. Throughout, she had been a spectator in this battle. Now, it was the crucial moment, yet all doubts in her mind remained unresolved... The bandit army fleet’s current position seemed less like an ambush and more like serving themselves up for Hanfrey. No matter how you look at it, this was a plan that seemed completely impossible to execute successfully.

However, this Fatty before her, Saleria Major General Fang Xiang, and everyone on this entire fleet weren’t idiots. Their actions indicated a key factor they understood that she did not!

After glancing Margaret up and down, Fatty’s gaze finally lost the battle against her prominent chest. In fact, things had reached the point where the mystery was about to be revealed. Regardless, Margaret would eventually learn the bandit army’s secret. However, she wouldn’t have too many chances for deft manipulation. After this battle, once the Hidden Blade Fleet converged, the bandit army would no longer be a pliable target!

Fatty raised his eyebrows, turned to Fang Xiang, and said: ”Show her!”

Then, Fatty turned to Carl and said: ”Order the reconnaissance ship, no matter what, find a way to identify the enemy flagship!”

When Fang Xiang brought up the battle plan on the tactical computer, Margaret almost buried herself in it. The conference room fell into a dead silence.

Time was passing by, second by second.

In the starry sky, the tail formation of the 19th Group Fleet had fully entered the asteroid belt. The vanguard of the Hanfrey Fleet also entered the center of the asteroid belt while pursuing. Intertwined, both sides were quickly navigating through the Chaotic Stone Zone, opening fire; the scene was extremely chaotic.

”Feiling’s coordinates: 19167.85722.16445.4, distance: 23,000 kilometers. Feiyu’s coordinates: 18056.80224.20115.4, distance: 12,000 kilometers.”

From the command system of the operations room came the voice of the intelligence liaison officer.

Margaret lifted her head from the tactical computer and stared blankly at Fatty: ”Your warships can cloak?!”
