Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 999: Chapter 997: Gu Xi’s Self-Preservation Ability

”Luna, find a way to deploy the troops and prevent the enemy from using mirror-like methods to monitor me.”

Before making his move, Gu Xi immediately notified his Contracted Undead.

At this moment, Gu Xi had no regrets about placing his troops in Yalidu City.

The greatest role of Death City for him was not to store troops and deploy them during battle.

Rather, it was to serve as a city that could provide Gu Xi with sufficient support later.

Now that the gate deployment function is gone, just switch to another method of deploying troops.

It’s not possible that without opening the gate, he couldn’t control the troops in his own city.

This was something that Eldest Princess Anna and Luna had reminded Gu Xi of before.

Eldest Princess Anna’s opinion was to quickly upgrade Yalidu City to level 13, directly deploying battle-use castles outward, thus converting the battlefield to the main battle area.

Luna’s opinion, however, was exactly the opposite, thinking that Yalidu cannot upgrade rapidly in a short time, as that would damage Yalidu’s future development opportunities.

If the city gate can’t be used for deployment, then deploy troops through other means.

For instance, using methods like mirror transfer or the Teleportation Gate.

In fact, Yalidu City already had such methods, like the Carriage Station or the Stove Stone Cottage, etc.

Therefore, it’s quite normal to add some quick deployment methods now.

Besides being an Elf of Yalidu City, Luna also possesses strange mirror image abilities.

One must not forget her skills just because Luna has always been staying in Yalidu City without taking action.

Upon discovering his ambush, Gu Xi immediately contacted Luna and briefly explained the situation here.

Afterwards, Gu Xi’s heart eased by half.

What he needed to do now was ensure his own survival, locate the enemy, and prepare a counter-attack when the main forces arrive.

This time, no matter who it is, Gu Xi had no intention of letting them survive.

While Gu Xi was contacting Luna and arranging other troops.

Several ambushers also appeared above the lake surface.

Three men dressed as Daoists, holding different weapons, rushed towards Gu Xi on flying swords from three directions.

Seeing the flying posture of these three men, Gu Xi knew they were the Dragon Slaying Immortals mentioned earlier by the Elder of the Undead.

If it was before encountering the ambush, seeing these three fly out, Gu Xi might have been a bit pleased, because the enemy’s situation was different from what he initially guessed.

These so-called immortals were not as strong as he imagined, at most around a level 10 game character.

Gu Xi didn’t even know how many of these small characters he’d already cleared.

He didn’t even need to do it himself, any of the Bone Dragons flying in the sky could easily suppress them. The Bone Dragons and Ghost Dragons already out here could slaughter these three Daoists several times over.

”Kill them!”

Gu Xi had just issued the order when suddenly a voice echoed from the sky.

”By the curse of the white bone, all Bone Dragon type units are disabled!”

As this voice sounded, the originally clear sky instantly dimmed a bit.

Numerous iron chains covered in white bone appeared in the sky, precisely falling onto each Bone Dragon.

No matter if it was the weakest level 8 Bone Dragon under Gu Xi or the strongest level 26 Ghost Dragon.

No matter if it was a normal Bone Dragon, Ghost Dragon, or those just affected by Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon, turning into Death Incarnations, even Gu Xi’s Death Incarnation was affected by the chains.

Once entangled by these chains, all Bone Dragons were pulled into the lake, and now before Gu Xi, there were no more methods available to block the three Daoists.

The three Daoists, upon seeing this, were also delighted.

They initially didn’t want to believe Guo Yuanxin.

After all, Guo Yuanxin’s strength was too weak, yet he always carried an arrogant demeanor, as if by asking them to do something, he was granting them a favor.

The most important thing was, Guo Yuanxin appeared very suddenly, directly holding a token ordering them to act once he appeared.

This made them quite displeased.

But now, it seems Guo Yuanxin truly had abilities.

He said he could seal Gu Xi’s Gate of the Underworld, and he indeed accomplished trapping all of Gu Xi’s Bone Dragons.

Now, Gu Xi had no subordinates in front of him.

Having reached this point, if they still failed to kill Gu Xi, they would truly be useless.

Thus, the three Daoists, stepping on flying swords, turned in the sky and charged towards Gu Xi’s direction.

At this time, without thinking, Gu Xi immediately raised the Illusion Magic Wand.

”Death Incarnation!”

Gu Xi was quite decisive in his actions.

Death Incarnation was immediately released on the spot.

Since the Bone Dragons were unusable, Gu Xi naturally used the other two Death Incarnations right away.

Death Incarnation - Titan and Death Incarnation - Death God, they appeared and stood upon the lake surface.

Seeing that they were about to sink, at this moment, a city gate wrapped in white bone and iron chains appeared on the lake surface.

As for Gu Xi’s actions, a trace of disdain crossed Guo Yuanxin’s face while he watched everything from afar through the Water Mirror.

Did you really think the White Bone Obelisk was fake?

Sealing your abilities means a comprehensive seal, leaving you no chance to turn the tides.

Before the seal is lifted, you shouldn’t think about releasing any city gates.

But Guo Yuanxin never expected, when Gu Xi pulled out the city gates, what he intended to release was not the city gates, but the city wall that could appear alongside the gates.

On one hand, the city wall could provide his subordinates a place to stand, preventing them from struggling on the water surface.

On the other hand, since Death City surpassed level 9, everything near the city wall could be deployed together, such as the Arrow Tower, Moat, even some arrangements and troop units on the city wall.

For example, the Garrison Gate, where scarecrows stood atop the city wall, while outside lay the Tree Pit of the Dead, all possessing strong combat power.

Currently, the Bone Dragon and Ghost Dragon Corps couldn’t be used.

But it didn’t mean Gu Xi’s other troops were unusable.

This time Gu Xi released the Steel City Gate.

Although over half of the city gate was submerged in water upon appearance.

The nearby city wall successfully became the foothold for the two Death Incarnations.

Simultaneously, the Mysterious Ghost Realm of the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon activated, with numerous Undead resembling the Water Race appearing in the water, confronting one Daoist head-on alongside the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon.

The Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon did not belong to the Bone Dragon type, nor the city gates, hence Guo Yuanxin’s two curses did not bind him.

Moreover, with the two Death Incarnations under Gu Xi engaging, they indeed managed to fend off the three Daoists.
