Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 995: Chapter 993: The Second Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon

Although Gu Xi wasn’t sure where the current location was, he still called out immediately.

A dense Yin Qi, barren earth, and a sky unseen by sunlight—all of these were indicators to Gu Xi that this place had nothing to do with the human world.

But what surprised Gu Xi the most was his feeling of familiarity with the surroundings.

It was like a wanderer returning home.

This was a sensation Gu Xi had never experienced before.

Faced with this feeling, Gu Xi’s expression turned somewhat entranced.

But he quickly came back to his senses.

He clearly remembered why he had come here this time.

Complete the task, promote to Level 10.

As for what this environment held, that was a matter for later.

Suppressing some thoughts in his heart, Gu Xi glanced around.

Then he identified a direction and headed that way.

Meanwhile, the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon that accompanied Gu Xi down also flew beside him.

At this moment, Gu Xi lifted his head, somewhat amazed to see the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon, because he found that not one, but two identical beings appeared.

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi was clearly stunned for a moment, taking quite a while to understand what had happened.

Because he had descended in a rush earlier, Gu Xi released the Death Incarnation without much thought.

He only released the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon, but the effect of the Hand of Death was also activated, yet without Gu Xi choosing, his other two Death Incarnations remained unaware of who should appear, thus remaining stalled.

In the end, it turned into the current scenario where the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon was still there, but another Death Incarnation did not appear.

Without making a choice, the Hand of Death automatically triggered an effect Gu Xi had never used before.

Incarnation Lord—randomly summon an Undead of the same type as the Death Incarnation, temporarily granting it the traits of the Death Incarnation.

Hence, a Level 8 Bone Dragon was summoned and was temporarily transformed into the appearance of the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon.

Seeing the two Bone Dragons circling in the sky, Gu Xi felt like he had missed something.

Turns out there were so many treasures within himself yet to be discovered.

Just as Gu Xi was pondering about going back and examining all his equipment, the two Bone Dragons in the sky suddenly began to circle relentlessly.

Meanwhile, a large amount of black aura gushed out beside the Bone Dragons.

The effects carried by these two Death Incarnation - Bone Dragons also began to distinctly differentiate.

One carried the Starfire Nightmare Shadow, while the other carried the opposing Extreme Cold Snow Layer.

Both Death Incarnation - Bone Dragons were equipped with Death Dragon Breath, only one had added the Melting Light, while the other strengthened its skeletal parts.

After a while circling in the air, Gu Xi could tell which one was the original Death Incarnation, and which one was temporarily transformed from the Bone Dragon.

As the two Death Incarnation - Bone Dragons took to the sky, they immediately caught the attention of some people nearby.

Just after releasing the Holy Silver Evil Coffin to inspect the surroundings, Gu Xi felt a slight trembling on the ground.

This snapped Gu Xi’s attention back from thinking about reviewing his equipment.

Only then did he remember another issue—he was at the Promotion Ground, but what about the task?

Being at the Promotion Ground, wouldn’t there be no tasks at all?

Why would an Undead Mage need a Bone Dragon at the Promotion Ground?

While the Bone Dragon partially serves to protect the Undead Mage, allowing them to smoothly enter the Promotion Ground.

Is there another side to this, at least isn’t the promotion task initiated by the Bone Dragon?

As Gu Xi contemplated these things, some Undead started appearing on the nearby wasteland.

These were not powerful Undead Corps, just some ordinary Undead.

They resembled desiccated corpses, their clothes ragged and holding weapons like hoes and pitchforks; some were even holding just wooden sticks and whistles.

If not for their corpse-like faces, Gu Xi might have mistaken them for local farmers.

As he watched these Undead advance towards him, Gu Xi did not initiate an attack.

The Death Lord’s power made Gu Xi see nothing but a green light in the eyes of these Undead.

These were neutral Undead, capable of being subdued by Gu Xi.

In such a case, Gu Xi naturally wouldn’t reject these Undead approaching him; he even wanted to ask what was really happening here.

Thus, Gu Xi motioned to the sky with a hand signal, indicating the Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon to first descend.

Then, Gu Xi stood in front of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, waiting for the Undead to gather around.

Before the Undead got too close, one of them shouted towards Gu Xi.

”What are you doing here? Hurry and escape!”

Escape?

Gu Xi was a bit puzzled as to why he should escape.

Finding himself somewhat perplexed by the situation, Gu Xi didn’t bother to maintain a facade.

He quickly leaped down from the Holy Silver Evil Coffin and came in the middle of the Undead.

”What’s happening?”

Upon entering the group of Undead, Gu Xi discovered some of them were carrying or pushing luggage or provisions, creating a scene resembling both relocation and fleeing.

”You don’t know?”

The Undead, upon hearing Gu Xi’s inquiry, looked at him in disbelief.

”How could you not know?”

”Yeah, they’re coming for you, and you still won’t run?”

”Indeed, those people are too wicked.”

”...”

The Undead uttered chaotically, without clear points.

”Stop, stop, stop, I can’t understand what’s happening from your words; can someone explain the situation in detail?”

After being called upon by Gu Xi, an Undead with some whiskers hanging under his chin finally spoke.

”We are all residents of Longhu Horn, born and buried there.

However, a few Immortals came from outside, claiming there’s a Demon Dragon beneath Longhu Horn, refining Inner Cores for both ice and fire Celestial Calamities.

If the Inner Cores succeed, there will be nine years of snow and nine years of drought around here.

Hence, they plan to exterminate the demon before the cores succeed.”

The Undead narrated as he glanced at the just-landed Death Incarnation - Bone Dragons.

After landing, one was adorned with flame, the other with ice, precisely fitting the Immortals’ words.

”We all know our good life at Longhu Horn relies on the Dragon King’s protection. If the Dragon King is gone, who would care for us?

Therefore, before those Immortals take action, we intended to relocate.

We old folks still have some strength to carve out a new blessed land for our offspring, so they won’t be without ancestral grounds after death.”
