Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 983: Chapter 981: The Completion of the Last Village (Bonus Chapter)

After leaving Yalidu City, Gu Xi’s thoughts had already shifted to this final village.

Thomson, who was guarding here, had long since received the news brought by the troops Gu Xi sent out.

He’d prepared everything here ahead of time.

Seeing Gu Xi come out from the Garrison Gate, he didn’t ask much at all, just very honestly followed behind Gu Xi.

After Gu Xi walked a circuit around the place, he found there were still some traces of battle outside this temporary encampment.

That made Gu Xi chuckle a little; he could tell Thomson had deliberately left these traces alone as a way of taking credit.

It was to show Gu Xi how important this temporary encampment was in his eyes.

Looks like Thomson already knows a few things and has made his choice.

With Thomson having this sort of idea, Gu Xi naturally wouldn’t object; in any case, arranging some other Hero is still arranging, leaving Thomson here is also arranging—keeping someone who’s personally willing is even better.

So Gu Xi didn’t drag it out or hold anything back.

He quickly walked another circle around the camp in front of him, asked Thomson a question about the situation in the area over this period, then put away the Garrison Gate and the City Wall and the rest.

With the Garrison Gate vanishing, the trees that had been fused with the City Wall suddenly lost their support and all toppled to the ground.

Thomson reacted fast, immediately ordering his men to drag those trees off to the side.

In Thomson’s view, all of that was material for farming.

Even though a batch of supplies had just been shipped in along with Gu Xi’s troops.

Still, having more supplies is always a good thing, right.

So while Gu Xi picked out a spot, dug a pit, and got ready to bury the Energy Core’s Architectural Design Plan, Thomson was busy directing his men to work.

For a Hero like that, even if he’s just a tool, Gu Xi is satisfied.

Because of that, Gu Xi even waited for Thomson, letting him finish what he was doing before Gu Xi finally buried the Energy Core.

[You are building a village. Please name this village.]

”Victory Front.”

[Assembly Hall successfully constructed. Victory Front is now Level 1. You may appoint one stationed Hero.]

”Thomson, get over here directly.”

At Gu Xi’s command, Thomson entered the newly built Assembly Hall at once.

The moment he stepped inside, Gu Xi saw the large number of nearby trees rapidly vanish, as if some great force had dragged them down underground.

That point made Gu Xi quite satisfied.

This is the style the Undead ought to have when they’re in a forest.

Back at Ghost Realm Jungle, that style was eerie, not Undead.

This here is Undead Wind: a graveyard style amid the woods, an open patch inside the forest where the ground has no trees yet sunlight still can’t reach.

Part of the buildings are underground, part of them stand above ground.

This kind of style is what an Undead village should look like.

Still, after a glance, Gu Xi found that although the style was different, the layout of Victory Front was quite similar to Ghost Realm Jungle.

Its function leaned toward Defense; the main units inside were Zombies, in charge of protecting the route leading toward Jiaolong Blood Castle from this side.

At the same time, unlike Ghost Realm Jungle, there was no Holy Stone Ore here—only some very ordinary veins, with not many Resources, just barely enough to maintain the village’s balance.

After checking Victory Front’s Attributes, Gu Xi turned to Thomson and said,

”I won’t be assigning you a City Gate here. This area will be relatively safer, and I trust the way you handle things.

Having you guard this place is actually more about having you protect the supplies coming out of Dark Swamp.

Those supplies are key to Jiaolong Blood Castle’s development.

Over the coming period, Jiaolong Blood Castle will operate mainly off the nearby Resources; Yalidu City’s Resources aren’t going to keep flowing in forever.

So this spot is a critical front-line route.

If this place falls, then developing Jiaolong Blood Castle will become very difficult, so you must keep a tight watch here.”

”My lord, rest assured—I will definitely hold Victory Front.”

Having become the stationed Hero of Victory Front, Thomson’s expression changed.

It was obvious he was quite satisfied with his current status and work.

At the same time, he was equally pleased with how Gu Xi had arranged things for him.

As for always holding the line here at Victory Front, Thomson had absolutely no objections.

For an Undead, staying put in one spot is basically the same as picking a good place to be buried in.

That kind of thing is something he’s very used to doing.

Seeing that all three villages had been dealt with, Gu Xi finally nodded, satisfied.

And just then, an Owl flew to Gu Xi’s side, circled once above his head, then landed directly.

When he saw the Owl land in front of him, Gu Xi was briefly taken aback.

This Owl was, of course, one of the Owls under Gu Xi’s command used for sending messages.

But at this timing, who would be looking for him?

If it were someone from Chaoyang Radiance Guild contacting Gu Xi, they should be using a crow.

So what was going on?

With a hint of doubt, Gu Xi caught the Owl, and then discovered it had flown here from the direction of Ghost Realm Jungle.

Bone Chain Shot had written a special letter to Gu Xi.

”My lord, there is a man named Wang Yongshou waiting outside Ghost Realm Jungle, saying he has urgent business with you. Wang Yongshou has not tried to force his way into Ghost Realm Jungle, and we have not attacked him.

As for how to handle this, we await your clear instructions.”

The letter was just that one short sentence; for Bone Chain Shot to write that much was probably already quite an effort.

Gu Xi thought about the situation when Wang Yongshou had left, his brows furrowing slightly.

What exactly does this Wang Yongshou want to do?

He’d already given up on looking at that White Bone Obelisk.

What else is he trying to do?

After thinking it through, Gu Xi decided he still needed to go meet Wang Yongshou. After all, this person counted as part of Bailian City’s administrative system, one way or another.

People like that might not be reliable at getting things done right, but if it’s about wrecking something, there’s a fair chance they can manage it.

Gu Xi had no intention of offending anyone at such a critical moment.

What Gu Xi wanted was to steadily finish this quest, reach Level 10, and register to take part in Creation.

At a time like this, he didn’t want to casually offend people.

Thinking it over, he took another look at the situation in Victory Front.

He found there was nothing here that actually required him to sit in person.

So Gu Xi promptly hopped onto the Holy Silver Evil Coffin and headed toward Ghost Realm Jungle.

This time, Gu Xi didn’t pass through Yalidu City.

Instead, he planned to use this chance to personally run the route from Victory Front to Ghost Realm Jungle.

To see whether there were any other problems along the road.

As for Wang Yongshou over there—since there was no rush right now, there was no need to be overly anxious.
