Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 952: Chapter 950: Soulless Blood Corpse

As the explosion sounded, the Netherworld Dragon Robe Carrier immediately stationed himself in front of Gu Xi, blocking the flying rocks for him.

At the same time, the Vanguard Power - Array-Breaking Armor User stepped forward and executed a Charge Slash.

Among the exploding rocks, the slash cut into a blood-red figure.

Only after this sword flashed did Gu Xi notice that what was sliced by the Vanguard Power - Array-Breaking Armor User was a dry corpse shrouded in red gauze.

This corpse had already shriveled to the point where the skin clung to the bones, the gray-black skin making it impossible to discern his original appearance.

The slash across his chest also tore through the skin, revealing the bones beneath.

After being slashed away, the dry corpse rolled on the ground, attempting to struggle up again, but he seemed to have lost his energy and couldn’t even make a move.

At this moment, Gu Xi stepped forward, and the Titan Slayer appeared in his hand.

Although Gu Xi was not accustomed to using this weapon, he could still wield it like an ordinary long spear.

As the dry corpse fell, Gu Xi thrust the Titan Slayer forward, a seven-meter-long spear stabbing into the corpse’s body, with seven different types of lightning continuously infusing into the corpse’s body.

The dry corpse’s hand reached up, trying to hold on to the Titan Slayer, but due to the lack of energy, he barely moved before falling still again.

Subsequently, Gu Xi let go of the handle, pinning the dry corpse dead on the ground with the Titan Slayer.

At this moment, Gu Xi did not proceed further.

He glanced at the Netherworld Dragon Robe Carrier.

The Netherworld Dragon Robe Carrier looked around, finally shaking his head at Gu Xi.

This was to prove to Gu Xi that there was no other threat nearby.

Only then did Gu Xi nod and cautiously head towards the throne’s former position.

At this moment, Gu Xi discovered that beneath the blasted throne, there was a pit deep enough to lie down in, scattered with several syringe-like things.

Gu Xi picked up these syringes, finding that they contained some residual bright red liquid.

It was evident this was Screaming Castle’s last source of energy, and the dry corpse relied on this energy to survive and make his final move.

This implies that Screaming Castle’s downfall was likely due to energy shortage.

With this thought, a doubt flashed across Gu Xi’s mind.

Clearly, the Energy Well at Screaming Castle was usable, how could it be abandoned due to energy deficiency?

Thinking of this, Gu Xi couldn’t help but turn his head towards the dry corpse not far away.

Maybe this dry corpse could be a suitable source of information.

Thus, Gu Xi moved to the dry corpse’s side, reaching out to press on the corpse’s body.

At this time, the sky’s Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon descended along with Death Incarnation-Titan.

Death Incarnation - Bone Dragon’s giant eyes were staring intently at the dry corpse’s every move.

Gu Xi did not immediately act but carefully examined the information in his hand.

[You killed the Soulless Blood Corpse (Level 11), you gained 339 experience points (overflow stored 339 points).]

From this information, it is clear that the dry corpse in front of him is already dead, yet somehow, Gu Xi always felt that this dry corpse was still alive.

Thinking for a moment, Gu Xi extended his hand, and the ”Blood Feast Book” appeared in his hand.

At this time, the ”Blood Nether Book” also showed corresponding information to the Soulless Blood Corpse.

[Soulless Blood Corpse (Level 9, Summoned Corps): Experience (0/8000), Attack 16 (22), Defense 10 (20), Life 95 (150), Skills: Undead Creatures, Soul Detachment, Bloodthirsty Aura...]

Soulless Blood Corpses start at Level 9, making them a fairly rare type among Vampires.

Unlike Vampires, they cannot absorb blood during combat. Instead, they need to consume blood during battles. By injecting blood into their bodies, they transform into a red soul body to attack, much like ghosts.

When they become souls, their attack, defense, and life are greatly enhanced.

The stronger ones can even influence the nearby environment through their souls.

The red carpet and red gauze that Gu Xi sensed before were actually transformations of the soul.

These soul transformations also carry significant lethality, appearing ghost-like, not easily affected by physical attacks.

If Gu Xi hadn’t immediately deployed his three Armor Users, suppressing the soul changes with the Netherworld Dragon Robe and igniting the enemy’s soul with the Spirit Lamp.

Perhaps it wouldn’t have been possible to find the Soulless Blood Corpse hidden beneath the throne.

After understanding the previous situation through the information at hand, Gu Xi’s actions paused a moment.

The Soulless Blood Corpse before him is Level 11, not the Level 9 starting point recorded in the ”Blood Feast Book.”

What was his role at this throne?

A Hero? A warrior? Or the last line of defense for Screaming Castle?

Gu Xi extended his hand to lift the corpse’s head still pinned to the ground, intending to perform a Soul Summoning Skill, when he noticed something embedded at the corpse’s brow.

If not looking closely, most wouldn’t have noticed this.

Gu Xi thought for a moment, ultimately decided to connect with Luna through the special mirror.

”Luna, check the city to see if there are any newly converted Soulless Blood Corpses. If there are, arrange for them to come by.”

After speaking, Gu Xi exerted force in his hand, crushing the pinned dry corpse’s head.

In the already desiccated brain, Gu Xi found a disassembled piece of metal.

Picking up this fragment, Gu Xi scrutinized it. The system lacked any prompts, but Gu Xi could clearly see this was a fragment of equipment.

Yet, Gu Xi was unsure of its state, what the equipment looked like originally, how many fragments it was split into, and where the other pieces were.

Gu Xi had no clue.

Reflecting on this, Gu Xi set the fragment aside, raised his hand ready to retract the Titan Slayer.

Just then, Gu Xi realized there were clearly more situations on the dry corpse’s body.

Gu Xi reached out at the corpse’s chest, forcefully opening where the Titan Slayer had pierced.

Sure enough, embedded at the corpse’s heart was a thumb-sized red gem, identical to the piece retrieved from the brain, belonging to the same set of equipment fragments.

This discovery stirred Gu Xi, his gaze returning to the corpse before him.
