As he stepped from the Gate of the Underworld to the surface of the lake, Gu Xi immediately felt a profound malice pervading the waters.

Initially, Gu Xi didn’t pay it much mind, thinking that it was the Immortals targeting the Demon Dragon within the lake.

But in the next moment, Gu Xi realized something was off.

”Spirit Lamp!”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Spirit Lamp Carrier appeared before him.

Gu Xi placed his hand on the back of the Spirit Lamp Carrier. Utilizing the lamp’s sight, he saw malicious gazes coming from all around, some focusing on him and others on the Gate of the Underworld behind him.

Some were even locking on the carrier of the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe.

This experience of being watched from all directions was not new to Gu Xi.

Luna’s mirror surveillance method had a similar function.

Now within Yalidu City, it was filled with such surveillance methods.

Upon returning to Yalidu City, if he unleashed his Perception, he could clearly sense similar gazes.

Meaning, someone was using mirror-like methods to keep an eye on him.

Gu Xi was somewhat curious.

What was the nature of their gaze?

Watching him and the Gate of the Underworld was understandable.

But what was it about the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe that drew their attention?

Could it be that there’s something peculiar about the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe?

While Gu Xi was speculating internally, the Ghost Dragon and Bone Dragon army started flying out from the Gate of the Underworld.

As each powerful Ghost Dragon and Bone Dragon appeared, all the eyes on Gu Xi and the gate shifted to them.

Only the gaze on the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe remained constant.

This situation made Gu Xi more certain that someone knew about his Yellow Springs Dragon Robe and had intentions toward it.

Gu Xi’s mind stirred, and he reached out, pushing the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe to move outward proactively.

Meanwhile, the Level 26 Ghost Dragon flew straight up toward the sky, preparing to lock onto the position of the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe from above.

As for Gu Xi himself, he immediately activated the Psychic Barrier to hide himself.

While Gu Xi concealed himself, he suddenly felt a bad premonition.

”In the name of White Bone to curse, forbid the opening of the Death City’s gate.”

A voice suddenly echoed in the sky.

Simultaneously, the Gate of the Underworld behind Gu Xi closed with a boom, while an iron chain emitting orange light shot up from underwater and wrapped around the gate.

This iron chain, apart from a layer of orange glow on the surface, was covered in rust with white bones caught within the rust.

When the chain wrapped around the Gate of the Underworld, white bone threads grew from the bones, tightly embedding into the gate.

At this moment, a ding sound echoed in Gu Xi’s ear.

[You are affected by the curse of the White Bone Obelisk (Deputy, Temporary), depriving you of one skill (Temporary). For the next 15 minutes, you will be unable to use the gate deployment function of Death City.]

”White Bone Obelisk?”

When the Gate of the Underworld was attacked, Gu Xi felt it immediately, but he couldn’t have imagined it was White Bone Obelisk, one of the three orange-grade artifacts of Bailian City, that struck him.

Gu Xi couldn’t understand what he might have done to offend Bailian City?

They would use an orange-grade artifact against him.

Actually, Gu Xi didn’t know that the attack was not Bailian City’s decision; it was the idea from the current holders of White Bone Obelisk at the Guo Family.

Last time, when Mr. Guo, the Guo Family’s holder, saw Gu Xi, he sensed something amiss, considering anyone capable of killing the Third Elder of the Fusion Association in-game must not be simple.

At that time, his suspicion was either Gu Xi had powerful backing, or he possessed unrecorded orange-grade artifacts.

Thus, Mr. Guo delayed Gu Xi’s rewards and used Ancient Tree Spirit Remains to probe Gu Xi.

Wang Yongshou didn’t cause any issues, but Elder Bone Dragon Zhou was merely used as a pawn by Mr. Guo.

Through various actions, they assessed Gu Xi’s strength and equipment.

They concluded that Gu Xi’s Yellow Springs Dragon Robe was an orange-grade artifact.

This Yellow Springs Dragon Robe could wield the power of Underworld Yellow Springs and summon Intermediate Yin Soldiers and Ghosts.

Gu Xi’s six to seven thousand strong White Impermanence army served as evidence.

Moreover, this orange-grade artifact seemed to belong to someone else who had lent it to Gu Xi.

As seen by how Gu Xi could only direct the Yellow Springs Dragon Robe but couldn’t wear it.

Thus, they prepared to seize the orange-grade artifact immediately.

Originally, they laid out everything perfectly to lure Gu Xi into a predetermined Promotion Ground for an ambush.

In that Promotion Ground, they had prepared many things.

Unexpectedly, Gu Xi defied their script, ignored their psychic suggestions, and leapt into a Promotion Ground not chosen by them.

Fortunately, this Promotion Ground offered significant rewards and was marked for sale to high-ranking or noble family members.

This allowed the Guo Family to respond swiftly.

Had Gu Xi advanced to Level 10 before they found his direction, it would have been like finding a needle in a haystack.

Indeed, Promotion Grounds don’t allow non-advancing players entry.

For the Guo Family to murder and rob, they too had to send advancing players.

Guo Yuanxin was the leader this time.

To target Gu Xi’s orange-grade artifacts and Death Three Divine Skills, Guo Yuanxin specifically brought the White Bone Obelisk.

Controlled by Mr. Guo, the genuine White Bone Obelisk couldn’t be taken in. He carried a Deputy that could be used five times only.

This Deputy could only be used temporarily to ensure recovery if Guo Yuanxin encountered trouble.

Whether Gu Xi would hold any bad conceptions toward Bailian City after winning didn’t even cross Mr. Guo’s mind.

In his plan, the White Bone Obelisk ambushes, sealing off Gu Xi’s Death Three Divine Skills and the effects of the orange-grade artifact.

Without the Undead Mage, there would be no turning the tide.

Guo Yuanxin needed only to unleash half the combat power of the Death Knight to kill Gu Xi.

As for the possible blame from Bailian City, there was nothing terrifying.

Once they seized the orange-grade artifact, the Guo Family could thrive in any city, becoming an even stronger orange-grade artifact noble family.

However, Gu Xi remained unaware of this. As the White Bone Obelisk activated, he immediately thought it was Bailian City’s decision.

At this moment, a thick killing intent surged within Gu Xi’s heart.

Time to fight for one’s life!
