”We’ve arrived. This is the place. Why are you still dawdling? I’ve brought the person here. Aren’t you going to bring out the items?”

Wang Yongshou turned back and glared at the Bone Dragons, his expression clearly saying, what do you mean by this? Can’t you see we’re busy?

However, these Bone Dragons had no regard for this at all. No matter how much Wang Yongshou glared at them, they remained unresponsive.

It wasn’t until Gu Xi and Wang Yongshou reached the front of the platform that one Bone Dragon took its own initiative and flew up.

The Bone Dragon opened its mouth and spoke in fluent common language.

”Isn’t this Million Wang? How much did you earn this time?”

”No, nothing like that. Don’t say such things.”

Wang Yongshou waved his hands repeatedly, sneaking a glance at Gu Xi.

Upon seeing that Gu Xi didn’t pay attention to his actions, Wang Yongshou spoke, ”You better hurry up, or I’m taking him away.”

The Bone Dragon chuckled after hearing this and gave Gu Xi a scrutinizing glance.

”Wait here.”

All the Bone Dragons then flew up and headed towards the distance.

After the Bone Dragons had flown away, Wang Yongshou awkwardly laughed, ”These guys guard the number four training ground. They often rely on their jobs to dismiss people. These creatures...”

Wang Yongshou kept on mumbling incessantly.

At this moment, Gu Xi raised his head.

He noticed that the sky had turned considerably darker.

The Bone Dragon that had left earlier was now returning with many more Bone Dragons.

Suspended beneath the Bone Dragons were a vast number of corpses.

These were all different shapes and types of dinosaurs.

Among them were massive Thunder Dragons, along with Tyrannosaurus and Brachiosaurus-esque creatures.

While hung beneath the Bone Dragons, Gu Xi noticed blood dripping off these dinosaurs.

As the Bone Dragons flew over, they didn’t provide any further explanation, merely dropping the dinosaurs onto the platform before flying off.

Watching this unfold before him, Gu Xi was a bit puzzled. He turned his head towards Wang Yongshou, his expression clearly asking Wang Yongshou: What is this?

Wang Yongshou was also unsure of the situation in front of him; this wasn’t as planned.

Just then, the ground suddenly shook.

A body, as large as a small mountain, descended from the sky, crashing atop the dinosaurs.

Upon seeing this body, Gu Xi was startled.

When Wang Yongshou was introducing earlier, he had speculated what kind of creature could gather thousands of players to attack in Bailian City.

Typically, if you couldn’t win, you’d just bypass it.

Why risk life and limb?

But seeing the body before him, Gu Xi understood. The higher-ups in Bailian City weren’t crazy. If it were him, he would have made the same decision.

The dragged-in body was a large tree trunk. All the branches and leaves had been chopped off. Even the bark was gone, part of the heartwood was excavated, and the roots suffered the same fate, with most of them severed.

The only thing indicating it as a creature was the tree burl on the trunk that resembled a human face.

Tree Spirit type of creature.

With just a glance, Gu Xi made this determination in his mind.

This was a type of creature Gu Xi was familiar with.

They were either slow-moving or could not move at all.

Their attacks were primarily close combat, sometimes using roots or vines to control enemies.

However, in any case, they were weak against fire, having a clear weakness to long-range attacks.

A capable Skeleton Shooter could wear them out from a distance with the fiery Rocket, as long as they don’t get too close.

Defeating such a creature would not only yield a significant amount of experience but also various materials.

Such as branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits from the tree, as well as bark, roots, and heartwood.

These were either the best materials for making Magic Wands or Armor or premium medicinal materials.

These are things that players need the most.

And hunting these creatures wasn’t too difficult either.

As long as you clear the area first and then engage in full-range attacks.

If your attack power exceeds the recovery speed of the Tree Spirit, the possibility of wearing it down to death was quite high.

Faced with such a cost-effective creature, it was impossible not to confront them if encountered.

Of course, these Tree Spirit type creatures also possessed defensive abilities.

For example, a large number of Tree Spirits gathered together to form a forest, or by raising minions like Flower Spirits and Tree Demons to protect themselves.

This was precisely why Bailian City required over six thousand players to clear the field.

Gu Xi now had some insight.

Just witnessing the descent of this body, Gu Xi could already discern some of the situation inside.

Regarding the reward before him, Gu Xi had developed some acknowledgment.

At that moment, Gu Xi noticed a crackling sound coming from the tree trunk thrown on the dinosaur corpses.

Curious, Gu Xi looked towards the tree trunk and discovered that those human-faced burls attached to the tree trunk were detaching, only tethered by what seemed like black filaments, rapidly crawling over the dinosaur flesh and blood, continuously gnawing and sucking.

Under the suction of the burls, the flesh and blood on the dinosaur corpses visibly dwindled.

However, Gu Xi noticed one fact: the burls were absorbing blood, but the tree trunk itself gained nothing.

It was evident that this tree trunk was already dead.

No matter how much the burls replenished flesh and blood, this tree was beyond salvation.

Observing Gu Xi’s demeanor, Wang Yongshou remarked from the side, ”So, do you want to go up and inspect it?”

Considering it, Gu Xi eventually nodded.

But he didn’t step forward immediately.

Instead, he stood at a distance, only moving forward after all the dinosaur flesh and blood were completely absorbed and the burls returned to the tree trunk.

While circumventing the dinosaur corpses, Gu Xi discovered that all the dinosaurs had turned into mummies, bodies that would become dust with just a touch.

The essence of the dinosaur’s flesh and blood had been entirely drained.

As an Undead Mage, Gu Xi had witnessed such things often enough, but achieving to this extent, there were indeed very few.

This made Gu Xi’s gaze turn somewhat grave.

Though outwardly appearing indifferent, Gu Xi had already prepared to rapidly utilize the Orange Armor and Purple Armor in his hands.

Approaching the tree trunk, Gu Xi pressed a hand on it, and two prompts popped up before him.

[Discovered remains of Ancient Tree Spirit - Cecilia Gustav (Level 29).]

[Discovered special sealed burl node (Purple).]

These prompts elicited a slight exclamation from Gu Xi.

He wasn’t surprised about the Ancient Tree Spirit being merely a remnant; what surprised him was that the burls were not innate to the Ancient Tree Spirit but were special seals used to seal Cecilia Gustav.
