Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 955: Chapter 953: Everything Piled Up at Once

When Dietrich arrived, Gu Xi’s subordinates also brought the latest news.

The Screaming Castle’s Great Library had been found, and the Undead had dug out a huge number of books about Vampires and the Blood Race from inside.

Among them was exactly what Gu Xi wanted most—the Blood Crown Book.

Hearing this, Gu Xi immediately contacted Eve.

This kind of thing was something Gu Xi needed a helper for.

At the same time, these books needed sorting.

And right at that moment, new intel came from Di Mi’s side as well: the fact that Gu Xi’s group had taken Screaming Castle had already attracted the attention of some nearby Player villages.

Some Players were already sending proper troops this way, and although Amirka had taken his Cavalry unit out to intercept,

this was still something Gu Xi needed to be aware of.

With these messages arriving one after another, Gu Xi’s head was starting to hurt.

”Seriously? Either nobody shows up, or they all pile on at once.”

Gu Xi muttered under his breath, then hurried off to deal with what was in front of him.

Dietrich and Eve would need time to get here, and the enemies outside were blocked by Amirka for the moment. Gu Xi’s focus right now was on those books in the Great Library.

The first book delivered into Gu Xi’s hands was the Blood Crown Book the Soulless Blood Corpse had mentioned.

This Blood Crown Book looked a bit similar to the Blood Feast Book Gu Xi already had, but it was clearly much thicker.

As he held it, a corresponding system prompt popped up.

[Blood Crown Book (Purple): This is a book that records how to create a special piece of equipment. This special equipment’s Quality can break through Purple Quality, but it can only be used within the area covered by the ritual.]

[Note: This ritual requires mastery of Magic Ceremony abilities, control over the surrounding area, and sacrifices strong enough to complete it successfully. Anyone who uses this equipment will be affected by the ritual and unable to leave the ritual’s area.]

As soon as he opened the Blood Crown Book, Gu Xi immediately felt a torrent of chaotic text, carrying a bloody stench, pour into his mind. His eyes turned scarlet, and blood began to trickle from his nose and ears.

He could even taste rust flooding into his mouth.

That meant just looking at the book had already put his blood under its control.

Fortunately, though reading this book was troublesome, its contents were very real.

Inside were the casting methods for the component parts needed to perform this Blood Crown ritual.

And the steps for assembling those parts.

Then came the steps of the Magic Ceremony—but the moment Gu Xi reached that part, he spat out a mouthful of blood.

It wasn’t that Gu Xi couldn’t keep reading; it was that the incoming information contained far too much about Vampires—details and knowledge.

Gu Xi’s level in Undead Knowledge was decent, but right now, it wasn’t enough.

Because the Vampire-related information seemed to be laid out on a separate page by itself.

Gu Xi could understand some of the meanings there, but once they were combined, all it did was make his brain feel like it was going to explode.

Right now Gu Xi felt he’d made the right choice—at least he had called Eve over.

After putting the Blood Crown Book down, Gu Xi closed his eyes and rested for quite a while before he finally managed to quiet his still-buzzing mind.

He turned to look again at the throne in the pool that had been blasted to pieces, silently weighing something in his heart.

Maybe he should just borrow the Duke of Wailing’s setup, reinforce the Energy a bit, and cobble it together as-is.

There really was no need to lay out a whole new Ritual Array.

Just then, Dietrich and Eve hurriedly arrived.

Hearing their voices, Gu Xi finally opened his eyes.

”Eve, take a look at this book first. All the components are over there. If there’s anything about Vampires you’re still unclear on, we’ve found every book about Vampires in the Library—you can go through them.”

The moment he saw Eve, Gu Xi handed the Blood Crown Book straight to her. He himself couldn’t withstand that kind of pressure.

He still hadn’t fully recovered.

Eve’s level was much higher than Gu Xi’s. After she took the Blood Crown Book, she just skimmed it, glanced around at the surroundings, then said seriously, ”My lord, what is your current plan?

If we’re only reactivating the previous setup, we can start on it right now.”

”I’m planning to use a stronger Energy to activate it.”

Gu Xi revealed the Netherworld aura and the special Negative Energy.

”Then we’ll need to make some adjustments. There’s far too much Vampire-related stuff woven into this book. A lot of it I can’t fully decipher yet. If possible, I’ll need to consult some of those Vampire books.

At the very least I have to figure out whether some of these later ritual steps can be substituted.

But from what I can see so far, their setup here has already been modified.

You first messaged me saying the thing produced was called the Blood Dragon Crown.

But this book is the Blood Crown Book. There’s a clear discrepancy.

I’ll see if there’s anything we can tweak.”

”Go ahead.” Gu Xi felt that what Eve said was clear and structured—it seemed she really understood what was going on in there.

Unlike him, who’d only grasped half of it and had no way to do any ’modding.’

Seeing Gu Xi agree, Eve was quite pleased. She liked this kind of work—and she’d already noticed that the Blood Crown Book was fascinating: it used the Power of the city and its Soldiers to process equipment, raising its Level.

Although the resulting equipment could only be used while defending the city, its Quality could potentially reach Orange Quality.

Even if it was an Orange Armor that only worked inside one city, it was still Orange Armor.

No one would claim Orange Armor was inferior to Purple Armor. Even a damaged or counterfeit Orange Armor was, in Players’ eyes, better than Purple Armor.

And with the design logic behind the Blood Crown Book, you weren’t limited to crafting just one piece of Orange Armor. If Eve could fully digest it, she’d be able to produce a considerable number of Orange Armor pieces.

For Gu Xi, that wouldn’t just be a minor boost in Power—it would be a whole different level of reinforcement.

Once Eve withdrew with the Blood Crown Book in hand, Gu Xi turned to look at Dietrich.

”Dietrich, dragging you over on short notice really is a hassle for you.”

”It’s no hassle. If you need something, my lord, just give the order.”

”Here’s the situation: on my way here earlier, I ran into an enemy who wiped out my Bone Dragon Corps in one shot. The Level 19 Double-headed Bone Dragon didn’t even get a clear look at him.”

Gu Xi laid out in detail what the Bone Dragon Corps had encountered.

When Gu Xi mentioned that the enemy had struck from within black mist, only extended an arm, and that arm carried an Aura, Dietrich said,

”My lord, that enemy is likely past Level 30.”
