Squeak!

As Gu Xi approached the small plain, his Ghosts and the indefinable monsters in the sky clashed.

Only when Gu Xi got closer did he see what these monsters looked like.

The monsters were about half the height of a person, with slender arms, bat-like heads, and wings like mosquitoes, making a buzzing sound as they flew.

When hit by a Ghost, they let out squeaking screams.

They held no weapons, and their legs seemed weak from constant flying; their main means of Attack were in their hands.

Their slender hands bore sharp Bone Spikes, which, at a glance, could easily pierce a normal human skull.

However, they were up against the Ghost Corps.

With similar Levels, they truly couldn’t match the Ghosts.

The monsters exchanged a few blows with the Ghosts in the sky until Gu Xi heard the messages when they were killed.

[Ghost (Summoned Creature) killed Twisted Blood Slave (Level 8), you gained 1 Experience point (overflow stored 1 point), Summoned Creature gained 66 Experience points.]

[...]

Seeing this information, Gu Xi breathed a sigh of relief. Though the enemy’s strength was greater, it wasn’t absurdly overpowering.

Judging by the number, Gu Xi’s forces could handle it.

It seemed that Screaming Castle wasn’t an insurmountable challenge; if it came to a fight, rushing in wouldn’t be a problem.

However, Gu Xi soon noticed something was off.

”Blood Slaves?”

Does this mean Vampires follow behind the Screaming Castle?

Gu Xi’s heart stirred, which might just be perfect.

Among Gu Xi’s forces, the biggest concern was the Vampire issue.

Skeletons, Zombies, and Ghosts could be transformed normally, but Vampires needed the Blood Feast Book combined with the Soul Summoning Skill for processing.

However, there were many transformation books compatible with the Soul Summoning Skill, and Vampires were mostly held tightly by Di Mi, so Gu Xi seldom performed the transformation and had few Vampires under his command.

Yet, given the current situation, there was no need to overthink; transforming them into Vampires directly was fine.

Even the Twisted Blood Slaves that were killed, if transformed through Double Death, could directly become Vampires, offering Di Mi a chance to supplement her troops.

With this in mind, Gu Xi decisively raised his left hand and said to the special Mirror: ”Luna, if Undead appear in Yalidu City later, if they are Vampires, let Di Mi handle it. Let her fill up her forces first.”

After saying this, Gu Xi glanced at the situation in the sky and released the Bone Locust and Bloodthirsty Mosquito Swarm that had followed him all the way here.

At this time, the Ghosts were already fighting the Twisted Blood Slaves. By themselves, they were weaker than the enhanced Ghosts, and without weapons or equipment, their main attack methods were also restrained by the Ghosts.

The fight was already quite frustrating for them.

Now, with a large group of Insect Swarm troops rushing out, it only added to their chaos.

These Insect Swarms, be it locusts or mosquitoes, or even the Corpse Poison Fly that Gu Xi initially acquired, all came in large numbers.

A swarm of six hundred Corpse Poison Flies, the locusts now in a group of a thousand, and the newly joined Bloodthirsty Mosquitoes amounted to a group of fifteen hundred.

When they took flight, they descended on the Twisted Blood Slaves like a black cloud.

No matter how strong the Twisted Blood Slaves were, they could only crush a bug at a time. When the bugs swarmed at them, a simple dispersion would dodge their attacks.

Once their strength was spent, the Insect Swarm would swarm them again, biting or sucking blood, quickly killing a batch of Twisted Blood Slaves.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Gu Xi led his forces onto the small plain he had his sights on.

Gu Xi immediately deployed the Steel City Gate and the corresponding City Wall.

Unlike the Garrison Gate, the Steel City Gate’s walls were more for the placement of archers.

As soon as the City Wall emerged, it was filled with Skeleton Shooters.

The Black Dragon Camp appeared directly before the Steel City Gate, and Blaise, commanding the Black Dragon Camp, was ready. Upon seeing the situation in the sky, he immediately raised his Longbow.

”Follow me in shooting.”

This was Blaise’s expertise.

As a Shooter Type Hero, he always joined the battle at the first moment.

Under his leadership, all the Skeleton Shooters understood how to act and didn’t lose their targets when attacking.

Most of the Skeleton Shooters under Gu Xi were willing to listen to Blaise, and under his command, they could shoot further.

The same applied this time, as under Blaise’s command, all the Skeleton Shooters simultaneously released their arrows.

The arrows flew a certain distance and accurately hit the Twisted Blood Slaves in the sky.

If previously the Ghosts and Insect Swarms were merely unafraid of the Twisted Blood Slaves’ attacks, then the Skeleton Shooters were delivering fatal blows.

Often, seven or eight arrows were enough to kill a Twisted Blood Slave.

The number of various Skeleton Shooters under Gu Xi had long surpassed ten thousand, and there were over five thousand positioned at the Steel City Gate.

A wave of Rain of Arrows resulted in nearly a thousand Twisted Blood Slaves being killed.

The Twisted Blood Slaves flying out of Screaming Castle weren’t many, only around five or six thousand.

A single Rain of Arrows eliminated roughly one-fifth of them.

This struck fear into the Twisted Blood Slaves.

They squeaked in the sky and shockingly turned toward the Steel City Gate, clearly pained by the previous strike.

But even if they pinpointed the source of trouble, reaching it was another story.

The Ghosts and Insect Swarms in the sky weren’t foolish enough to let them maneuver around; seeing the Twisted Blood Slaves go berserk, the Ghosts engaged immediately, while numerous Insect Swarms approached from all directions, continually attacking and halting their advance.

Under such circumstances, the Twisted Blood Slaves couldn’t push forward, let alone approach the Skeleton Shooters.

Glancing at the battlefield, Gu Xi promptly deployed his Soul Summoning Tower behind the Steel City Gate.

Even before Gu Xi stepped onto the Soul Summoning Tower, the Blood Nether Book materialized at his side.

It was evident that the Blood Nether Book sensed the abundance of suitable corpses outside; this was no time for modesty, and without transforming a batch of Vampires, it would miss a prime opportunity.

Seeing the Blood Nether Book hovering around, Gu Xi smiled, summoning a Necromancer while stepping onto the Soul Summoning Tower, using its Power for a wave of Summoning!
