Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 930: Chapter 928: Guild Quests (210/213)

The subscription skyrocketed during the New Year, reaching a peak of 2136. Now it’s starting to normalize. I’ll repay the owed updates first, and I request a subscription to boost the average. Let’s see if there’s a chance to achieve excellence.

————————

Seeing the situation in front of him, Gu Xi felt a bit curious. He thought for a moment and followed along to take a look and see what these tasks were about.

After all, he had left the Chaoyang Radiance Guild for several months, and he wasn’t quite clear on the current circumstances.

The player who spoke to him earlier just explained the basic situation.

But he did not elaborate on the specifics.

Gu Xi had to find someone who knew the situation to ask.

Also, a new graduation season had come, and with new players joining the guild, it marked Gu Xi’s second year officially joining the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

He was obligated to complete a guild task.

Previously, Li Xinghui mentioned that the Promotion Ground for Level 10 required waiting in line.

Gu Xi intended to apply first. If the wait time was short, he would advance to Level 10; if the wait was long, he would complete the guild task for the year first.

These two things were the most important tasks he needed to handle at present.

As for other matters, they would be addressed once these two were settled.

After a bit of wandering, Gu Xi quickly arrived at the place where guild tasks were published.

At this moment, the place was quite chaotic, with guild staff constantly relaying various newly received tasks.

”Here’s an important task requiring participation from a Level 5 player. Is there anyone willing to accept the task? The reward: 20 guild points, no deduction!”

”Emergency task, emergency task! Requires a Level 5 squad, any volunteers? The guild ensures squad membership!”

”Big task needing Level 10 players—is there any available Level 10 player around? Newly promoted ones are welcome too!”

”Important task—Level 9 players can apply, but it’s better to have strength at Level 10...”

Gu Xi glanced around and finally approached a staff member who wasn’t too busy, saying, ”Hello, I’d like to apply for the Promotion Ground for advancing to Level 10.”

”Applying for the Promotion Ground isn’t handled here. Buddy, can’t you see I’m busy here? Don’t cause trouble, okay?”

”Help me apply for it and simultaneously check the wait time. If it’s long, I’ll pick a task that I can do now to complete.

Rest assured, although I’m Level 9 now, I can tackle tasks above Level 10 too.

If the time is short, schedule a task that requires Level 10 or above, and I’ll finish it once the promotion is done.”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s idea, the staff’s eyes lit up.

”That’s right, those in line to be promoted can also be utilized. You’re spot on, let me check for you.

If you sign up now, there are thirty-nine players ahead preparing for Level 10 promotion. Each Promotion Ground session lasts two days, so you’ll have to wait about two and a half months.

Perfect timing to complete a new task. Allow me to select a short-term task for you.”

”Sure, then choose a short-term task that lasts approximately two months.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi smiled. That fits perfectly with the timeline.

”Thank you very much.”

The staff quickly processed the request, and soon handed Gu Xi a piece that’s as white as paper.

”Here’s your task—key task, requiring Level 10 to accept. I see you’re just one step away from promotion, so even if you’re not Level 10, you can take this task.

Take a look, and I have also submitted your application for the Promotion Ground.

The Promotion Ground staff will send a notice seven days in advance for you to prepare and return.

There’s an opportunity to jump the queue, but not too frequently, so manage your time well.”

Gu Xi looked at the paper and found the target information for this task recorded on it.

”Newly emerged game world battle task, requiring an Undead Mage of Level 10 or above with an Undead Corps of over two thousand. Upon entering the game, you must establish a village at the designated location and then defend against a monster siege attack!”

”What kind of task is this? I say, buddy, is this reliable?”

”Don’t worry, buddy. This task is an entry task post-Level 10, and completing it offers certain benefits.

If you hadn’t helped me earlier, I wouldn’t have thought about giving this task to you.”

The staff said earnestly.

”What kind of benefits?”

Gu Xi asked, feeling somewhat curious.

”Can’t you see? It’s a city-building task. As per the unwritten rules, upon completing the task, you can claim half of the benefits from the built city.

You can replenish troops in this city, with half of the new troops produced weekly automatically sent to you.

Furthermore, all Architectural Design Plans used for building the city become yours after the task.

When this game ends, the players involved in city-building have the priority to purchase the city’s Land Title.

Even if you don’t use the Land Title, you can sell it; it’s quite valuable.”

At this point, there’s really no need for further explanation.

Most players with any sense will understand the benefits of this task.

Especially someone like Gu Xi who started with a Death City.

Building a new city, even at village level, holds significant importance for Gu Xi.

Starting with city-building experience, and then there are the Architectural Design Plans.

Troop types and the Land Title are secondary concerns.

Gu Xi is currently not worried about troop issues.

However, Gu Xi believes that the right to recruit troops here will eventually grant one or two heroes.

This counts as a minor supplement for Gu Xi.

So, Gu Xi tucked that piece of paper away.

”Alright, I’ll take this task.”

As Gu Xi finished speaking, the coordinates for this game appeared on the paper.

Meanwhile, the staff also told Gu Xi, ”By the way, for this type of task, the guild supports some troops. You can take this task slip to recruit five hundred soldiers over there.

However, the soldiers’ level is low, only Level 5, and the troop types aren’t selectable.

If you want to upgrade to higher tier troop types, you’ll have to spend more.”

Gu Xi couldn’t help but ask another question.

”If I want some of the guild’s unique troop types, like the Withered, what then?”

”Those are available too. The Withered aren’t priced high; you can inquire over there. If needed, you can mobilize a batch of such troops.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi laughed.

He really wasn’t lacking main battle troops but rather auxiliary Undead Corps.

If he could take this chance to swap some troops from the guild, that’s certainly favorable for Gu Xi.
