”My lord, the Gathering Point of Death Gods has already been arranged, but it’s still not the time to build the Hero’s Mansion.”

After Gu Xi sent out the battle banners on both sides, Luna rushed back to report.

After the battle with the Lightning Eye Corps ended, Luna and Eldest Princess Anna had been handling the situation on the battlefield.

Eldest Princess Anna was there reorganizing the newly converted Undead Corps, tallying the results of this battle.

Luna, meanwhile, transported all the corpses back to Yalidu City at the first possible moment.

Most of the corpses above Level 15 were all soaked in Evil Wood Lake, using the lake’s water to nourish these bodies.

Dietrich’s corpse was naturally among them.

It was just that, compared to the Dietrich who had been converted into an Undead, this corpse was clearly in much worse condition.

The head of the corpse in front of him was simply gone, and two large holes had appeared on the chest and slightly lower at the abdomen; clearly this was the effect left by the previous Internal Organ Explosion.

Still, no matter how damaged this corpse was, it was a Level 20 corpse.

Although Gu Xi already had a large number of Soldiers above Level 20 under him, he only had one Leader at Level 20.

If he could handle this properly, Gu Xi would naturally gain another powerful Leader-level Hero under his command.

However, from Dietrich, Gu Xi had more or less learned about the Great Monarch’s situation.

Even if he used Undead Transformation to handle the corpse, the connection inside this body to the Great Monarch had to be cleaned up and cut off once more.

At the very least, he had to alter this corpse beyond recognition, not allowing the Great Monarch to recognize a single bit of information related to Dietrich.

Otherwise his Yalidov would be exposed before the Great Monarch’s eyes, and by then, even if the Great Monarch didn’t attack, he could forget about developing peacefully.

So Gu Xi simply soaked this corpse in Evil Wood Lake first, letting Evil Wood Lake wash and nourish it, and would wait until he found a proper method of handling it.

Those corpses above Level 15 thrown in there for nourishment together with it were, of course, mainly those corpses of Foot Knights that Gu Xi paid special attention to.

Most of the other corpses were those with good ”appearance,” corpses that felt like they would be very useful.

As for those in poor condition, as well as the corpses of Heroes, they were all placed outside and became Gu Xi’s experimental subjects for Undead Transformation.

After all, Gu Xi’s Undead Transformation also needed Experience; he couldn’t let his Soul Summoning Skill Level rise while his Undead Transformation stayed at Level 1.

Hearing what Luna said, Gu Xi was somewhat tempted.

”That works out, I happen to need some time to settle down. I won’t go out during this period; I’ll focus on handling these corpses.

When Di Mi returns, remind me.”

Once Luna heard this she agreed, and she did not forget to ask, ”My lord, do you need those corpses above Level 10 brought over for Undead Transformation?”

”Forget it. Undead Transformation is about research and manipulation of corpses; not every corpse is suitable to use.

Stack those around Level 10 under the Soul Summoning Tower, and we’ll directly use Summoning when the time comes; there’s no need to waste time deliberately doing Undead Transformation on them.

Doing that doesn’t help much with improving my Undead Transformation level.”

After hearing Gu Xi’s words, Luna didn’t object. ”In that case, I’ll transport all these corpses beneath the Soul Summoning Tower.”

”Fine, I’ll leave the next part to you. Right, tell Eldest Princess Anna to draft a cleaning plan for Yalidu City, and deal with the Yalidov of the Plantagenet Dynasty period last.”

Luna didn’t ask why and directly agreed.

In the period that followed, Gu Xi really did stay at Evil Wood Lake the whole time.

Since he had no intention of rushing the work, all arrangements for Undead Transformation were handled personally by Gu Xi.

Even when multiple people were needed to act together, Gu Xi would summon Necromancers himself, without letting others get involved.

Under such circumstances, Gu Xi ran into many problems.

The biggest among them was the mismatch between the diversity of corpses and the materials in Gu Xi’s hands.

This was the biggest hurdle in Undead Transformation.

Gu Xi spent more of his time not on the process of transforming Undead, but on repairing corpses and using materials.

In fact, there was a shortcut in Undead Transformation, which was using Mercury as the main material.

As long as Mercury was used, it could replace most of the other materials.

However, after using large amounts of Mercury, the quality of the Undead transformed would more or less decline, unlike those Undead transformed with special materials added according to the corpse’s quality and direction; those not only could maintain their Level, but sometimes even gain a boost.

Gu Xi was currently treating Undead as a research project, and unexpectedly this fit perfectly with the logic of Undead Transformation.

As corpses were transformed into Undead one by one by Gu Xi, his Undead Transformation Level also rose.

At the same time, various auxiliary Skills and passive abilities such as Undead Knowledge and Undead Research improved as well.

Gradually, Gu Xi’s speed at transforming Undead got faster and faster, and the Undead he produced grew closer and closer to the original Level of the corpses.

While Gu Xi was handling these corpses, Di Mi had already rushed back from Yellow Springs Road.

With her came the troops she led and the three Heroes who followed her.

After returning to Yalidu City, Di Mi didn’t go to rest immediately. When she handed over to Dietrich, Di Mi already understood Gu Xi’s intentions.

This was to transfer her back to fight for the new-era Yalidu City once again.

This was the opportunity Di Mi had always pursued.

She wanted to stand up again where she had once fallen.

After returning to Yalidu City, Di Mi went to see Gu Xi.

At that time Gu Xi was busy with Undead Transformation, and he hadn’t slept properly for several days, his body covered in Corpse Qi.

When he saw Di Mi, Gu Xi’s eyes could barely stay open, but he still forced himself to perk up a bit and said to Di Mi, ”I’ll assign fifteen Heroes to you; this time, you’ll be the one to make the move again.

Show me the results of your hard work during this time.

You saw Dietrich earlier as well; if he weren’t unsuited for the fighting here in Yalidov, you wouldn’t have had the chance to return.”

Di Mi also knew she had to rise from where she fell.

So Di Mi said with a serious face, ”Please rest assured, my lord. I will definitely take Yalidu City in the shortest time.”

”Mm.” Gu Xi glanced at Di Mi. ”Fight well, don’t waste such a good opportunity. Amirka is mainly unsuited for street fighting; otherwise he’d also want to join this battle.”
