Upon hearing Dietrich’s words, Gu Xi nodded, wanting to ask something else when he suddenly felt something was off.

He paused silently before asking somewhat uncertainly.

”Is there something wrong with the apple? Earlier in your words, there seemed to be something else hinted at; even though I’m not sure if I fully understood, I feel like your meaning wasn’t that.”

Dietrich fell silent upon hearing this and didn’t respond to Gu Xi’s question.

Gu Xi understood; this was Dietrich’s way of indicating that there was indeed a problem within.

However, such matters were not convenient to explain in this place.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi ceased to inquire further and stood atop the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, staring at the battlefield ahead, contemplating future matters.

The battlefield ahead was still a distance away from Yalidu City.

But Gu Xi had already confirmed that the enemies in the main city district likely came from this direction.

If possible, it would be best to set a defensive line here or something.

There’s no need to drag the army here every time.

Seeing Gu Xi say nothing more, Dietrich also diverted his attention, engaging his subordinates in battle.

At this moment, Gu Xi noticed that during the fight with these peculiar subordinates, Dietrich focused his attacks on a hero.

That hero was somewhat similar to Arroyo, both commanding lancer-type units; given the state of the battle now, only he could maintain the integrity of the troops and still have considerable combat power.

Dietrich evidently knew the situation of this hero, so no matter how weak the surrounding enemies were, he only focused on this hero ahead.

This made Gu Xi’s heart move; he took note of this hero.

He planned to summon this hero first after the battle ended.

No matter the hero’s characteristics, being remembered by someone like Dietrich, a Level 20 leader, indicated his skills.

If Dietrich promised to walk with a hero, then it wouldn’t be too much for Gu Xi to summon a soul.

As Dietrich plunged wholeheartedly into the battle, there was nothing more to watch in the war.

About an hour later, the last enemy fell, and the battle here finally ended.

After the battle ended, Dietrich wasn’t idle, as he was quite aware of the subordinates he had brought.

He proactively found Gu Xi.

”Master, please give me some troops to clear the battlefield and account for the spoils this time.”

”What, are you afraid someone’s playing dead? That shouldn’t be possible.”

Gu Xi also understood; Dietrich wasn’t trying to steal other heroes’ achievements but was ensuring that his transformation into an Undead by Gu Xi wasn’t discovered by the Great Monarch.

As a former subordinate of the Great Monarch, Dietrich was most aware of the Great Monarch’s strength and personality.

If the Great Monarch found out his subordinates became the enemy’s, Gu Xi might not just die; he definitely wouldn’t die a painless death.

So, he couldn’t allow the Great Monarch to find out he turned into an Undead.

This was Dietrich’s thought.

And Gu Xi had figured this out from Dietrich’s behavior.

Thus, when Dietrich wanted to clean the battlefield, Gu Xi didn’t intend to stop him. On the contrary, Gu Xi dispatched his most professional battlefield cleaning team, the Ghost Squad.

Allowing them to spread out, searching for every corpse, cleaning the battlefield inch by inch, even underground possibilities were not missed.

Dietrich didn’t plan to steal other heroes’ spoils either.

He only checked if all his subordinates had died and dragged the corpses aside to pile them up, without touching the weapons, equipment, or supplies belonging to the troop.

These items were promised by Gu Xi before; whoever killed the hero would own them.

Dietrich did kill some enemies, but he left no spoils for himself, placing everything aside for other heroes to split.

Precisely because of this, the attitude of Gu Xi’s hero subordinates towards Dietrich improved significantly.

In their view, Dietrich was someone who knew how to conduct himself.

While Dietrich cleaned the battlefield, Gu Xi took the opportunity to gather all the heroes together.

To check their relevant information.

This time, Gu Xi had promised everyone that the one with the highest battle record could directly take the Black Dragon Camp’s battle banner.

These heroes gave their all, now that the battle was over, Gu Xi naturally needed to check the situation.

He at least needed to know among so many heroes, which one contributed the most this battle.

After assessing all the heroes, Gu Xi found that his team had unknowingly gained ten new heroes.

They were previously Dietrich’s subordinates, though one was immediately taken by Dietrich when he appeared.

The rest gathered nearby, evidently unsure of how to integrate into Gu Xi’s hero team now.

Regarding this situation, Gu Xi didn’t meddle much.

In Gu Xi’s view, such cliquey behavior is trivial.

No matter how cliquey, can they be more tightly knit than heroes emerging from the same corpse?

If it hasn’t reached that level, don’t worry about breaking them up; assigning some tasks later and sending them to particular places to fight a few battles would suffice.

Rather than engaging with them over this matter now, it would be better to handle current undertakings.

After a circuit of inspecting each of their battle records among these heroes,

Gu Xi quickly identified the hero with the strongest battle record in this instance.

Gu Xi was somewhat surprised when this hero was singled out.

The hero wasn’t initially Lewis, bursting with ambition, nor was it the best suited for wilderness battles, Arroyo, nor was it Brave Fight who participated from the beginning to the end.

Nor was it the duo of Kaga and Die Bone who worked as one.

Interestingly, the strongest battle record belonged to a newly joined hero under Gu Xi.

He was called Blaise, a hero Gu Xi summoned from the dungeon.

[Blaise (Level 9, Summoned Creatures, Undead Hero): Experience (0/7500), Attack 11, Defense 5, Life 110, Mana 60, Talent: Archery (Ranged Attack +1 per level), Skills: Archery, Precise Shooting, Enchanted Arrow, Arrow Rain Guide, Leader (capable of commanding 1200 soldiers + 7 bosses’ units).]

He had a counterpart transformed from the same corpse named Aifan, although during Aifan’s transformation, some of Blaise’s traits were dissolved.

Thus, the two didn’t have the collaborative potential like Kaga and Die Bone.

This Blaise previously hailed from an organization in Britain known as Jungle Ranger Robinson; as the leader, naturally, he possessed considerable shooting expertise.

Considered a Shooter Type hero, he led five thousand Skeleton Shooters in this battle, firing ferociously, focusing fire, enchanting magic; in his presence, no enemy survived beyond a glance.
