Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 940: Chapter 938: The Enhanced Titan Slayer

After arranging everything, Gu Xi did not linger any longer. Even though he knew something was wrong with the enemy, the support from his subordinates would take a few days to arrive.

But Gu Xi had no intention of waiting for their support.

He still needed to hurry, after all, the mission was there. Arriving a day earlier meant starting the settlement a day earlier.

As for the enemies on the road ahead, Gu Xi was not too worried.

Although the enemies were certainly above Level 20, it wasn’t like Gu Xi was without means to counter them.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi looked at the Hellhounds following beside him.

Wasn’t it just because he didn’t have troops above Level 20?

He had them too.

When hitting the road again, Gu Xi raised his hand, and a long spear with lightning appeared in his hand.

This was the [Titan Slayer] that Gu Xi had obtained earlier.

However, this was meant for desperate times, and none of Gu Xi’s Heroes or Contracted Undead were willing to use it.

After all, the last strike was directly risking one’s life.

Was it just unleashing some thunder? Gu Xi’s subordinates, which one wasn’t capable? He really didn’t need to do such a thing.

As for Gu Xi’s two pieces of Orange Armor being able to counter the negative effects, there was no need to use them for this.

So this item had always been kept by Gu Xi.

At the moment, Gu Xi couldn’t worry about that.

A phantom-like Level 20, without a one-hit kill ability, what if the other party suddenly reached out a hand like they did with the Double-headed Bone Dragon before? Wouldn’t Gu Xi be directly crushed by him?

So upon discovering the function of the [Frozen Death God’s Finger Bone], Gu Xi immediately thought of the [Titan Slayer].

Of course, besides the [Titan Slayer], Gu Xi actually had another option, [Alexander’s Spine].

However, the [Alexander’s Spine] was a control-type weapon with no one-hit kill effect.

After pondering for a moment, Gu Xi eventually chose the [Titan Slayer].

Holding the [Frozen Death God’s Finger Bone] in his hand, Gu Xi pressed it hard onto the [Titan Slayer].

In the next instant, a layer of ice appeared on the surface of the Titan Slayer, followed by the lightning originally gathered on it flashing to life.

At this moment, a message flashed through Gu Xi’s mind.

[Please select a skill to enhance.]

Gu Xi was familiar with the skills of the [Titan Slayer]; otherwise, he wouldn’t have chosen this weapon for enhancement.

The [Titan Slayer] had a total of three skills. The Titan Slayer skill was to boost attributes against Titans; no matter how many times it was strengthened, it remained the same, at most helping Gu Xi a bit in one-on-one battles with Giants or Titans.

But if Gu Xi truly needed to one-on-one a Titan, he was on the path to ruin anyway; enhancing this wouldn’t help.

Then there’s the Grip of Thunder, an attack method carrying seven types of lightning effects. After enhancement, the lightning effects didn’t increase; only the power of the lightning would rise.

Although it could be increased several dozen times, Gu Xi wasn’t sure how powerful that would be.

Instead, it was the last skill, Titan’s Thunder, that Gu Xi wanted to enhance.

This was a skill for desperate moments, originally using this spear and the wielder’s full power in a full-power strike.

Such a strike would inherently be more powerful than the Grip of Thunder since it’s a do-or-die strike.

Now, combined with the effect of the [Death God Finger Bone], increasing the power twentyfold, if placed in the hands of a strong Hero, it should be no problem to kill enemies above Level 20.

So when the information popped up, Gu Xi didn’t hesitate much and directly chose to enhance the power of Titan’s Thunder.

When Gu Xi made his choice, the [Titan Slayer] began to change gradually; the metal long spear, originally about five meters, unexpectedly turned into a seven-meter ice spear.

This left Gu Xi speechless.

A weapon of this length, besides a large Titan, who else could wield it?

But the trouble was, no matter the Titan variety, even Gu Xi’s White Bone Titan was extremely averse to the [Titan Slayer]; they would rather die than use this weapon.

In this way, Gu Xi would probably have to use this weapon himself.

Picking up the newly transformed [Titan Slayer], Gu Xi raised his hand and found, somewhat helplessly, that his power and agility allowed him to equip a spear over seven meters long like the one before him.

But the problem was the balance; even spreading his hands as far apart as possible, he could only hold it about a meter from the back. From a leverage perspective, this was only about one-seventh of the [Titan Slayer].

Just leveling the [Titan Slayer] horizontally required a considerable amount of force, let alone using this weapon in combat.

As for fully throwing the [Titan Slayer], that was even less convenient.

Gu Xi’s throwing skills were still decent; although he hadn’t thrown personally for some time, his skill remained.

But throwing the [Titan Slayer] like a javelin was a headache of a problem.

No matter how Gu Xi grabbed the back of the [Titan Slayer], when throwing, he held it about a meter from the end.

And at such times, the end of the [Titan Slayer] was still on the ground.

After several attempts, Gu Xi found he could throw the [Titan Slayer] out but not far; this thing was best left for a bigger subordinate to wield.

Thinking it over, Gu Xi considered letting the Level 19 Zombie use the [Titan Slayer].

At that time, with Level 19 combat power along with Titan’s Thunder’s twentyfold power increase effect, it might ensure a one-hit kill on the enemy.

As Gu Xi was studying the newly reinforced [Titan Slayer], his troops continued proceeding forward.

Due to having encountered major troubles before, coupled with the Bone Dragon returning to Yalidov for recovery, Gu Xi’s progression noticeably slowed along the way.

After nearly six hours of travel, they finally reached their destination.

Screaming Castle.

When the Ghost Scout mentioned they might have located the target this time, Gu Xi put away the [Titan Slayer].

”Are we sure we’re here?”

After jumping off the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, Gu Xi followed the returning Ghost Scout a few steps forward.

Emerging from the woods, Gu Xi immediately understood the Ghost Scout’s idea.

No wonder the Ghost Scout was so sure, here was indeed the Screaming Castle Gu Xi sought, a massive castle completely buried under dirt and vegetation outside the forest.

The wind blowing over the castle made the plants sway, occasionally emitting a painful wailing sound.
