Through Liu Yingguang’s introduction, Gu Xi has gained a certain understanding of the Dark Swamp.

At the same time, he also understands the function of the Dark Swamp.

This place exists as a Player Newbie City, and also supplies and supports the player-built villages, controlling the entire game world through these villages.

Just as the explanation was nearing completion, Gu Xi and Liu Yingguang arrived at the highest point of the Dark Swamp.

This is a stone pavilion perched atop a large tree.

A pot of blue flame is ignited within the pavilion.

Entering the pavilion, Gu Xi distinctly felt a cold sensation rushing toward him.

”Rest assured, this is the contact point with Bailian City. You can directly communicate with the City Lord here, and it prevents outsiders from eavesdropping.”

Seeing Gu Xi’s hesitation, Liu Yingguang explained further.

At this moment, Gu Xi, unable to suppress his curiosity any longer, asked another question.

”Mr. Liu, when I entered this time, I was influenced by a strange power that caused a deviation in my landing point. I’ve encountered such a strange power before.

Moreover, their numbers are quite large. Can you tell me what’s going on?”

”You sensed it?”

Liu Yingguang thought for a moment, then began to explain to Gu Xi: ”I only know a little bit. What you encountered are Black Players who have turned themselves into game characters.

They are considered half-abandoned or have even actively abandoned their player status, merging themselves into a certain game world to resolve their lack of potential.

If it’s just Black Players, that’s fine—it is their choice.

Once they transform into game characters, even if their strength becomes formidable, they cannot leave the game world they’ve chosen.

It doesn’t affect us much.

They simply play themselves into the game and can never get out.

But behind these Black Players, there are other entities.

These are the ones gathered together, which is the most terrifying thing. They are all lunatics, influenced by becoming game characters, their thinking unlike normal humans.

Before you encountered the Black Players, the City Lord’s Mansion had already received news that during Creation’s opportunity to transfer a large number of staff, a group of self-proclaimed Cultists from the Fusion Association infiltrated Bailian City.

They plan to integrate ten to fifteen large-scale games into Bailian City, turning Bailian City into a game world.”

”Are they all mad?”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi exclaimed.

Gu Xi is well aware that since Ancestor City was tossed into the depths of the game, every player dreams of opening the path back to the real world.

All city-building has a clear direction, ensuring the city remains independent from the game, cannot be influenced by it, and cannot become part of the game.

This is known to everyone.

If a city becomes gamified, for players who have already become players, it’s not that bad—they can stay in other cities or live as players in their own city.

But the next generation will be different.

If there are no players, all newborns become game characters, what can they do?

Taking game characters out?

How, in the way of the Undead Mage, turning all their children into the Undead?

So anyone thinking of turning a city into a game world is entirely crazy.

Hearing Gu Xi say this, Liu Yingguang nodded.

”They are lunatics, so upon receiving this information, the City Lord’s Mansion has been searching for the game world targeted by the Fusion Association.

But the Fusion Association’s people are as hard to find as mice. If it weren’t for your good fortune encountering such a situation and finding a world targeted by them, we would struggle to pinpoint these worlds one by one.

Now what we need to do is seal these worlds off, preventing those mice from escaping.

Afterward, we’ll mobilize massive forces to eliminate these mice completely.

Your original task was to serve as a nail, securing critical gaps to prevent enemy departure.

But the Bone Dragon you brought has shown me new hope, so I brought you here hoping to borrow your power to seal the breach.

This decision is not mine to make; I must report your situation so that the City Lord’s Mansion can judge.

Therefore, I need to send out a message now. Please share any powers you have, describing them in detail, so as not to affect subsequent judgment.”

Gu Xi nodded, quickly calculating the troops he could deploy.

Above level 20 is needless to mention; the corpse of the Death Knight killed earlier hasn’t undergone Undead Transformation, so that portion doesn’t count. He’s affected by Double Death, increasing Gu Xi’s forces with three hundred level 15 Death Knight substitutes, a hundred Witch Demons or Corpse Witches.

All these are usable combat strengths.

Furthermore, Gu Xi’s Death City has reached level 8, allowing him to deploy City Walls and Moats.

It can be said that even if Gu Xi doesn’t construct a city, he alone can suppress one area.

Upon explaining the assets he has on hand, Liu Yingguang’s expression toward Gu Xi changed.

This is a treasure sent by the heavens.

Liu Yingguang swiftly recorded the details of Gu Xi’s situation.

Just as he was about to throw the notes into the fire pit, Gu Xi suddenly spoke up.

”Wait a moment, write one more thing—I only have two months, I’ve arranged for Promotion Ground to prepare for promotion to Level 10.”

”Forget it, handle these matters here. Bailian City will arrange for your promotion, ensure the best Promotion Ground.” Liu Yingguang responded directly.

”Rest assured, whatever your Guild has, the City Lord’s Mansion has. Whatever your Guild lacks, the City Lord’s Mansion also has.

Promotion to Level 10 is no issue.

The Promotion Ground in the City Lord’s Mansion is always ready to use.

Additionally, we will provide support in other aspects, just hope you can help stabilize the current world until this cleanup ends.”

Gu Xi glanced at Liu Yingguang, ”A written contract in black and white, I need assurance.”

”Of course, I will now have the City Lord’s Mansion arrange for a contract to be sent over, and any rewards will be counted as the most important rewards.”

As Liu Yingguang spoke, he quickly jotted down new information on the letter and showed the content to Gu Xi before placing it into the fire pit.

Approximately eight to nine minutes later, a new letter emerged from the fire pit and landed in Liu Yingguang’s hand.

Liu Yingguang opened it and smiled at Gu Xi.

”It’s done!”
