Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 935: Chapter 933: Departure (213/213)

After adjusting the entire army, Gu Xi swiftly left the Dark Swamp with his subordinates and headed towards the Rotten Forest.

Before leaving, Gu Xi specially bought some food from Liu Yingguang to supplement the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

After all, he is still a player and cannot go without eating for long. It’s uncertain whether he can replenish good food in the places he’s heading to, so it’s best to buy as much as possible now.

As for the various supplies for his undead subordinates, there’s no need to mention it—it’s unheard of that the undead need to eat.

Once out of the Dark Swamp, things began to change as Gu Xi journeyed along the road.

The originally black mud gradually disappeared, and the roadside vegetation increased.

Along the way, Gu Xi occasionally saw some newly erected small villages.

Since they were established using the power of Bailian City, the unified construction method involved first building an Origin Energy Core and then establishing the village.

As a result, most villages would display a layer of blue or green light on the surface.

Even if the style of the villages differed, this kind of light was always present.

Under such circumstances, Gu Xi could easily distinguish between villages built by players afterwards and the buildings originally belonging to this world.

Upon seeing villages constructed by players, Gu Xi initially thought of reaching out to them.

But he found that these villages were quite wary of visits from other players.

Or perhaps they inherently disliked large battalions approaching, fearing some conflict might occur.

Often, before Gu Xi could approach the village, warnings would come from within.

If it was before encountering such situations, Gu Xi would certainly confront them.

But the current state of this world was different.

The goal of this world was to target the black players and the cultists behind the Fusion Association.

The existence of these villages in Gu Xi’s view was to prevent black players and cultists from escaping through an available exit route.

They were considered allies, and Gu Xi didn’t want to accidentally take them down due to a momentary impulse.

So, after encountering two headstrong players, Gu Xi decided to avoid any player villages he came across, without further attempts to interact.

However, when it came to non-player enemies, Gu Xi had no intention of letting them go.

Along the way, Gu Xi did the equivalent of eliminating any obstacles that came his way.

Any creature appearing within a kilometer of him was regarded as a challenger and was killed by Gu Xi.

The crucial point was that, despite clearing his path through battle, Gu Xi didn’t waste a moment.

He didn’t even mobilize the Bone Dragons flying overhead; instead, he allowed the Bone Locusts and Bloodthirsty Mosquitoes to advance unstoppably.

Even the ghosts following along temporarily became laborers, collecting all visible herbs and minerals along the way.

If not for the swamp terrain, Gu Xi might have paved a road across the area.

After advancing in this manner for about a day and a half,

Gu Xi finally led his troops out of the swamp zone.

Stepping onto relatively solid ground.

At that moment, Gu Xi raised his head slightly and glanced at the condition of his troops.

Even during this journey, Gu Xi didn’t stop fighting.

Some injured soldiers were still in the ranks following along.

Although the undead don’t have to worry about supply issues,

the undead can still die.

The army that Gu Xi led was not invincible, and the situation with his subordinates was somewhat chaotic at this time.

”Fine, let’s set up camp here, rest for three hours, and have the severely injured units retreat to Yalidu City for recovery, bringing out the main army,” Gu Xi ordered.

Under Gu Xi’s command, the troops quickly set up camp.

Since most of them were insect-like troops, the moment they stopped, they fell to the ground; in the blink of an eye, a thick layer of insect shells covered the ground.

From a distance, it looked almost like a layer of snow had fallen.

As for the Bone Dragons, they continued to circle in the air without any intention of landing.

However, as Gu Xi opened the Steel City Gate and issued orders, his newest main forces began emerging from behind the Steel City Gate.

The first to emerge were a hundred or so Witch Demons.

While they were all equipped with standardized Witch Demon sets, including robes, crowns, spellbooks, longswords, skull staffs, and so on,

their appearances were completely distinct. Even though they had skeletal faces with just a layer of skin remaining, each exhibited a unique presence.

These were precisely the undead mages from the black players that Gu Xi had slain.

Though the apparent level of the black players might not surpass Level 5, they wielded powers above Level 15 at the time of their deaths.

Thus, after undergoing transformation through Double Death, they turned into Level 15 Witch Demons.

Considering their player background and game character identity from when they were alive, they clearly surpassed ordinary soldier standards.

Among these 100 Witch Demons, two were of Heroic Level, 31 were of Elite Level, and the rest all belonged to Warrior Level, with not a single ordinary soldier among them.

Initially, Gu Xi hadn’t planned to use them as the main troops, thinking instead to integrate them with other Witch Demons or Corpse Witches, similar to how Bone Dragons were organized into a mage corps of some kind.

But after gaining insights about black players from Liu Yingguang, Gu Xi came up with new ideas.

These Witch Demons, along with the Death Knights, were individually selected by Gu Xi to form a specialized unit to serve as his personal guards.

To this end, Gu Xi specifically had Luna and Eldest Princess Anna prepare exclusive equipment for these Witch Demons.

They were fully armed in a short amount of time and sent out.

However, the situation with the Death Knights was different; their equipment required more time, and they needed some transformations, which could be completed by the time Gu Xi reached Screaming Castle, hopefully.

If slower, they might not participate in this battle altogether.

For now, Gu Xi’s goal was to leverage these Witch Demons and Bone Dragons effectively.

After these Witch Demons emerged, they did not surround Gu Xi like other undead but dispersed, appearing unconcerned about Gu Xi’s safety.

However, they soon returned.

Around him, a batch of skeletons or ghosts rapidly appeared.

This was the skill of the current batch of Witch Demons; they retained some of their former undead mage abilities, summoning autonomously like undead mage players or undead heroes.

Although the numbers weren’t as large as those of undead heroes or undead mage players.

They managed, at most, to carry three to five undead as their personal guards.

With their emergence, Gu Xi’s ranks rapidly expanded.

Soon after, the Bone Titan led Gu Xi’s Converted Undead Combat Squad out from the Steel City Gate.

The Bone Titan glanced at the Bone Dragons circling in the sky, shrugged, and led these combat squads to stand behind Gu Xi.
