His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2299: Chapter 664: One Year Later (41)_2

Qin Mu shivered, suddenly remembering the conversation with the siblings in the afternoon. Realizing it was now too late to return to the city if they headed to the seaside, she pretended not to notice their little actions in the back.

Mu Yichen glanced at the rearview mirror, seeing the siblings talking about something, though it was clear his daughter was schooling his son, with her big sister authority naturally showing.

Although Chengcheng wasn’t convinced, he didn’t resist.

After that, the siblings quietly settled back in, and Mu Yichen turned to look at the person beside him. Qin Mu was quiet, prompting Mu Yichen to wonder what good deeds they might be doing in secret when they mentioned Qin Mu earlier?

Could it have anything to do with him?

Once he started thinking that way, Mu Yichen felt a bit uneasy.

The car veered into the seaside mansion, where the waves repeatedly crashed and blew across the beach, heightening the chill of the night.

Qin Mu gazed at the ocean, hugged her arms automatically, perhaps because there weren’t even stars tonight.

The car finally arrived at their residence after winding through the property for a while.

Mu Yichen stopped the car, and the two little ones happily dashed inside, while Qin Mu stood by the car and looked around, reflexively saying, ”It’s quite eerie.”

Mu Yichen, standing beside her, asked, ”Even those siblings aren’t afraid, why should you be?”

Qin Mu glanced at him, donning her coat and walking inside, saying, ”They aren’t afraid because they aren’t cognizant yet.”

Mu Yichen stayed silent, instinctively placing his hand on her waist.

Qin Mu shifted slightly, glanced at him, and strode inside.

Mu Yichen chuckled softly, hands in pockets, walking briskly inside.

Mrs. Mu’s demeanor is indeed captivating!

As expected, it’s extremely cold.

Those two little ones fared alright; despite trembling in the cold, they found it amusing.

Qin Mu didn’t dare remove her jacket, instead tumbling on the bed with the kids, laughing under the covers while Mu Yichen turned on the central air conditioning.

The house was so large...

By the time the bedroom warmed up, the siblings had already fallen asleep on the large bed in the master bedroom.

The bed was ample enough for four, but after Mu Yichen finished his shower, he still moved the kids.

Qin Mu thought, she had initially planned to spend the night with the kids at the Qin Family, and for the upcoming days as well. But they stayed here instead, and judging by Mu Yichen’s intent, it seemed they would continue staying here tomorrow night. What should she do?

Everything was slipping out of her plans!

Later, Qin Mu watched as he got into bed, but she didn’t plan to shower; she just lay there looking at him.

Mu Yichen smiled slightly, mimicking her posture, lying on his side with one hand under his head, making eye contact with her.

”What are you thinking? Not going to shower?”

”I originally planned to stay at the Qin Family tonight.”

”Really? Then why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

Qin Mu said nothing, just looked at him with a gaze full of resentment and childishness.

Mu Yichen watched her for a moment, then lay down, sighing lightly, ”If you want to leave, go ahead, I won’t stop you!”

”Really?”

Qin Mu immediately sat up, her alluring ankles showing from her trouser cuffs.

”Only, tomorrow morning, when the kids wake up, they won’t be able to find their mom.”

Mu Yichen turned his back to her after tossing out those words, remaining silent.

”If they can’t find me, so be it. They’re not at the age of nursing anymore; haven’t they managed without seeing me for so long?”

Qin Mu considered for a moment, suddenly uttering those words, heartlessly, before getting off the bed.

Mu Yichen listened as she really got out of bed, only then did he sit up too: ”You’re already here, if you didn’t intend to stay, why didn’t you stop me from turning this way earlier?”

Qin Mu stopped in her tracks, momentarily unable to respond.

Indeed, she’s always been straightforward; if she didn’t want to come here, she could’ve told him earlier. Though the result might be unchanged, at least he wouldn’t have this leverage now.

But why didn’t she say anything?

Qin Mu herself found it puzzling.

Perhaps it was because the kids were too excited back then? She didn’t want to dampen their spirits?

Yes! That must be it!

”Come over and stay with me, will you?”

Mu Yichen watched her tangled expression, not caring why she ended up here, only wishing the cool night wouldn’t leave him alone in bed.

Qin Mu looked at him, and her heart was moved unconsciously.
