His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2280: Chapter 660: One Year Later (37)_3

The siblings gently closed the door and then went downstairs with Mu Yichen. Huanshuan curiously asked, ”Dad, how did you open the door?”

”Dad must be a thief; only thieves can open doors without keys.”

Chengcheng thought about it; thieves on TV could easily open other people’s doors.

Mu Yichen disagreed with his son’s idea, frowned at him, thinking that maybe when you have a woman you like in the future, you might also learn this skill.

”Did you wash up?”

Mu Yichen didn’t dwell on that question, just asked them something else.

The siblings looked at each other, their large, round eyes seemed to say that wearing clothes was good enough. When Mu Yichen turned to go to the kitchen, he left a sentence: ”Go wash up, and then call mom to get up for breakfast.”

”Why not call mom to get up first and then wash up?”

Huanhuan asked.

Mu Yichen did not answer, just chuckled, and walked to the kitchen.

”Dad really cares about mom, doesn’t he?”

Huanhuan turned to Chengcheng and asked.

”But they still argue. Sigh! Dad still doesn’t know how to coax women!”

Chengcheng shook his head, looking like a little adult.

”You say that as if you know how!”

Huanhuan teased him.

”I don’t, I’m still a kid, but grandpa knows how. Grandpa can always make grandma happy.”

Chengcheng couldn’t help but think of his grandparents. Grandma is so fierce, yet grandpa still spoils her without limits.

Breakfast was steamed dumplings and millet porridge, with two plates of fresh pickles. The two little ones added sugar to their porridge. They loved steamed dumplings, so they had a good appetite. But Qin Mu ate less, and Mu Yichen frowned at her lack of appetite.

”Didn’t you say you wanted steamed dumplings last night? Why aren’t you eating?”

Mu Yichen asked softly.

Qin Mu looked up at him, a bit confused, remembering his question about breakfast the night before. She helplessly sighed, ”I wanted them last night, but suddenly have no appetite this morning.”

After saying this, Qin Mu lowered her gaze, ate a dumpling, and continued drinking porridge, spoonful by spoonful.

She remembered how he didn’t disturb her last night and felt she saw Mu differently.

Today is the second day of the New Year. Qin Mu thought, when does the Civil Affairs Bureau start working? The sixth?

And his thing with the lawyer, is he serious about it? Qin Mu felt he lacked sincerity. Even last night, he couldn’t talk to her properly about the main topic.

If he’s just saying things casually, then her return...

Qin Mu unconsciously looked up, saw her son and daughter eating dumplings heartily, then put down the spoon and pushed the dish of small steamed buns towards them, thinking, well, at least she returned to spend the New Year with the kids; it’s a fortunate thing.

However, considering that, she probably should go back.

When she realized Mu Yichen was watching her, he had been looking for a while. Qin Mu felt guilty, quickly lowered her head, and drank the porridge.

Why does she feel transparent in front of him?

Qin Mu doesn’t understand when she started caring so much about his gaze, but later, that’s how it was.

Being together for so long, it’s not as easy as before.

Last night, he even said she hadn’t become softer with age...

Qin Mu sighed dejectedly, wondering why she remembered this now.

After breakfast, there was a knock on the door. When Qin Mu opened it, she saw Mu Qingxin and curiously glanced at her, ”So early?”

”I brought Zifeng to play with the siblings so you and your husband can have some time alone. Appreciate me, okay?”

Qin Mu quickly blocked the doorframe with her hand, ”No need!”

Alone time?

With Mu?

Better not. She realized being alone with him wouldn’t end well. Mu doesn’t truly want a divorce; she’d rather spend a few days quietly with the kids and then return to Paris to work.

”What? Not letting me in?”

Mu Qingxin was stunned, unbelievingly looking at her.

”You better leave, just leave Zifeng with me.”

Qin Mu said, lowering her eyes, pulling Zifeng inside.

Zifeng was a bit confused, but he was still willing to follow his aunt quietly. Mu Qingxin laughed angrily, hands on her hips, tilting her head, not quite understanding as she looked at Qin Mu, ”Hey! I mean, you’re going over the top, I’m being kind here. Jiang Yan is still waiting downstairs.”
