His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2288: Chapter 662: Sinister, Too Sinister

Chengcheng sat on the steps, still holding his cheeks, a bit helpless. He always thought that their mom and dad should be very affectionate, but now, somehow, he just felt... He couldn’t come up with the word ”estranged,” but in his eyes, that’s the idea he had—they were too distant.

”Dummy, of course, I know they’re watching TV. I mean, how come they’re being so well-behaved? How long has it been since you’ve seen Mom and Dad kiss?”

Huanhuan, anxious, spoke while sitting over as well, glancing downstairs while asking her brother.

Chengcheng blinked, Mom and Dad kissing? Oh, right! It’s been a really long time since they’ve seen that!

”Sigh! How did Dad become so out of shape? He used to always hold Mom and want to kiss and hug and lift her up high.”

Huanhuan sighed again, brimming with longing, like life was void of meaning, her little lips pouting, looking cute and mischievous.

Chengcheng turned his head to glance at his sister, his long eyelashes fluttering, asking in a soft voice, ”Mu Chenghuan, what are you talking about?”

Huanhuan...

”You’re still a little girl! Have some shame!”

Chengcheng dismissed her with disdain.

”I’m shameless?”

Huanhuan instantly got unhappy, springing up.

The two downstairs watching TV heard the noise, looked up at the staircase, one calmly, the other with surprise and doubt.

Qin Mu stood up, passing by his leg sideways, muttering, ”What are they up to?”

Mu Yichen slightly moved his legs to let her pass, his eyes coolly glancing upstairs again, his gaze deep and perceptive.

”What are you two doing here?”

Qin Mu walked over, then stepped up the stairs.

It was only then that the siblings realized they had been speaking too loudly, tensed for a moment, then immediately craftily said to her, ”Nothing, nothing, we’re going to sleep now, goodnight, Mom, goodnight, Dad!”

Huanhuan said while patting Chengcheng on the shoulder, Chengcheng received the signal, and followed her, sprinting away.

Qin Mu stood in the middle of the stairs, smiling helplessly, a bit flustered, yet a bit helpless. Those siblings were mature beyond words.

Qin Mu turned her head to look downstairs again, opening her mouth, looking at the man who was seriously staring at the TV, suddenly unsure of what to say.

She wanted to say she was going to bed.

But saying it out loud, somehow felt like an invitation to him.

Last night, she was forced to sleep with him, but what about tonight?

Qin Mu thought of what Helian Hao said to her that afternoon, feeling a bit depressed, opened her mouth again and finally managed to say the words, ”I’m going to wash up!”

Mu Yichen slightly raised his eyes, ”Okay!”

His response was probably only audible to himself.

But Qin Mu could tell his meaning, greeted him and then turned to go upstairs.

Mu Yichen sat there motionless, staring at the TV for nearly two minutes, barely blinking, then lightly placed his hand on the remote beside him, picked it up with ease, and turned off the TV.

The living room suddenly quieted down, but his expression remained unchanged, as indifferent as ever. When he got up, his hands casually slipped into his pockets, circled the sofa and went upstairs.

Qin Mu was in the bathroom taking a shower when Mu Yichen entered the room, quietly closed the door, glanced at the bathroom, then walked over to the coffee table, bent down to open the drawer under the coffee table, took out a cigarette from the inside package, and lit it.

The sound of running water in the bathroom slowly entered his ears, and he stood in front of the French windows, gazing at the night view outside, quietly smoking, relaxed.

When Qin Mu came out of the bathroom, drying her hair, she looked up and saw the figure in front of the windows, tall and imposing, making one feel captivated.

...

Qin Mu thought back and forth, averted her gaze to look elsewhere, gently drying her strands of long hair with the towel, then sat at the edge of the bed.

Mu Yichen saw her sitting at the foot of the bed in the reflection of the window, his eyes gradually half-closing, brought the cigarette in his hand back to his lips, and took a strong drag.

Those predatory eyes, filled with desire for intimacy, were unmistakably clear in his mischievous eyes.

Qin Mu unintentionally glanced at the reflection in the window, and without knowing why, her throat tightened, and the next moment, the action of drying her hair halted, her eyes slightly cast down, after a moment, she got up and walked back to the bathroom.

Once in the bathroom, Qin Mu hurriedly unwrapped the tangled cord of the hairdryer, but her gaze kept dodging. For some reason, she felt a bit flustered, imagining what would happen if she willingly slept on the bed tonight...
