His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2269: Chapter 658: One Year Later (35) Attacked? (3)

The Mu family was all sitting on the couch watching the evening show, eating and drinking, chatting away happily. But as soon as she sat down, Feng Fanghua’s face turned cold.

Qin Mu looked at her wristwatch, bowing her head, and realized it was already eleven o’clock.

Mu Yichen sat on the couch, having a cup of tea. The person in the bathroom hadn’t come out yet, so he looked down at his son, about to fall asleep beside his leg: ”Mu Chengyang, go see if your mom is ready. We need to leave!”

Chengcheng didn’t even lift his head, quickly got up, and ran to the bathroom, seemingly waiting for his father to say this.

Feng Fanghua sat beside him, her chest inexplicably felt like it had been cut by a knife. Although it seemed shallow, the blood slowly seeped out, more and more viscous, and the wound seemed to deepen gradually. She hadn’t expected that her beloved grandson would be waiting to leave her home.

”Brother, what time is it? Just stay the night at home today!”

Mu Qingxin didn’t look at her mother’s expression, only checked the time and thought it was already late – why go back to the apartment so late?

”No!”

Mu Yichen lifted his gaze and saw Feng Fanghua’s sulking expression, not adding any extra words.

”I’m going back to my room!”

Feng Fanghua suddenly said then got up and turned her head to leave.

Mu Zihao glanced back and then looked at Mu Yichen: ”Do you have to give your mom trouble at this time?”

Mu Yichen didn’t speak because he didn’t want to cause further trouble.

”Previously, you and your wife used to stay up here; looks like this year it will be Qingxin and Ayan.”

The old man murmured softly.

Chengcheng and Qin Mu came out, Chengcheng always held onto Qin Mu’s coat, then asked, ”Dad, are we leaving?”

”Hmm!”

Mu Yichen saw them coming out and stood up.

Jiang Yan and Mu Qingxin also stood up.

Huanhuan, still groggy with sleep, immediately held onto her dad’s hand. The plan to leave together was something she and her brother had long discussed.

Mu Zihao sighed: ”Forget it, if you want to go back, then go back. But tomorrow is New Year’s Day, you don’t have to come early, but you shouldn’t miss the necessary visits, understand?”

”Got it!”

Mu Yichen agreed, then looked at the old man, waiting for him to give the nod.

”Go ahead!”

The old man didn’t raise his eyes again.

Qin Mu actually didn’t want Mu Yichen and the children to leave with her, but saying anything now seemed inappropriate.

”Don’t overthink, my brother is willing to leave.”

Mu Qingxin whispered to Qin Mu as she escorted her away.

Qin Mu listened, and then helplessly looked at Mu Qingxin, in the end, Mu Qingxin stood by her side. After exchanging glances, the two women said their goodbyes.

Mu Yichen drove the siblings and Qin Mu away from the Mu family, on their way back to the apartment, the car was so quiet.

The children were sleepy, and the couple each had their own thoughts.

Back at the apartment’s parking lot, Qin Mu carried Chengcheng, and Mu Yichen carried Huanhuan into the elevator.

No one spoke inside the elevator since the little ones on their shoulders were already lightly asleep.

Returning home, after putting the kids down, the two had to face each other. Qin Mu wanted to ask him if they moved out of the mansion because of her but hesitated to ask again.

”I’m going to stay at the Qin Family house tonight.”

Standing at the stair entrance on the second floor for a long time, Qin Mu broke the silence.

Mu Yichen’s dark eyes stared at her for a while, then nodded: ”Okay!”

Qin Mu, surprised, lifted her gaze at him, then went downstairs, carrying her bag to leave.

Mu Yichen stood on the second floor, looking down at her departing figure.

She was always unwilling to stay.

The Qin Family, she had said in the afternoon she wanted to go, and now she finally went back.

What used to be her most detested place, now became her shelter.

Mu Yichen continued to stand there, only after several cigarettes he looked toward the master bedroom and slowly walked over.

Qin Mu drove to the Qin Family’s gate, waited there for a long time, not moving the car in, overwhelmed with emotion as the intermittent fireworks echoed behind her, her eyes moistened, tears uncontrollably flowed.

Once alone, New Year’s seemed to be the most painful time of the year.

Usually surrounded by so many people, but on New Year’s, only oneself remained, past memories, like an involuntary recollection or perhaps forewarned, surged swiftly in her mind.
