His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2271: Chapter 658: One Year Later (35) Attacked?_5

Qin Mu suddenly remembered them asking for red envelopes from her in the morning, and sighed helplessly, knowing full well that the kids don’t usually have such sweet mouths.

”I need to pay New Year’s visits later, you...”

Mu Yichen finally interrupted their conversation.

”Oh! I’ll be at home!”

Qin Mu immediately answered him.

Mu Yichen hadn’t planned for her to go with him.

”Lunch is booked at AM, all familiar friends. Do you know which private room?”

Mu Yichen shifted to another topic.

Qin Mu thought for a moment: ”Hmm!”

Mu Yichen nodded: ”Would you two stay here with mom or go with me?”

The two little ones were undecided, after all, they hadn’t gotten red envelopes from mom yet, but if they went out with dad for New Year’s visits, they’d sure receive big red envelopes.

Qin Mu looked at their hopeful eyes, thought for a moment, and softly said: ”I don’t have red envelopes here, but if you want, I’ll give each of you a bill.”

Qin Mu said as she pulled out two crisp RMB bills from her jeans pocket, each folded but still new.

The two little ones looked at the RMB bills she pushed over, pretending to be coy but quietly put their hands on the table, quickly slipping them into their pockets.

”Mom, you’re really stingy! But fine, just prepare more for us next time.”

Huanhuan remarked.

”Yeah, sis is right!”

Chengcheng agreed, then jumped off the chair, ready to leave with Mu Yichen.

Seeing them so sensible, Mu Yichen kindly reminded: ”Don’t blame me for not telling you, but every year’s red envelope is saved with your mom.”

The siblings looked at Qin Mu in disbelief.

Even last year’s, Feng Fanghua had given to Mu Yichen, and though Mu Yichen hadn’t told Qin Mu, he still deposited it into the account Qin Mu opened for the siblings. When Qin Mu received the money, she naturally knew its origin.

”Huh? Mom, so all our red envelopes are with you!”

Huanhuan appeared visibly upset.

Qin Mu raised her eyebrows: ”Yes, they are!”

Chengcheng remained silent, thinking that their envelopes surely wouldn’t get lost with mom.

”Fine, fine, as long as they’re with you. Then if you ever try to run away, we have an excuse to find you.”

Huanhuan waved nonchalantly.

”What excuse?”

Qin Mu asked curiously.

”Collect debt!”

Chengcheng suddenly responded.

Qin Mu...

Huanhuan laughed out loud, Chengcheng held back his laughter but was failing at seriousness.

Mu Yichen had a faint smile at the corner of his eye and subconsciously looked at Qin Mu, seeing her expressionless face, chuckled.

Qin Mu glanced at him: ”What are you laughing at?”

”Nothing, just thought those seeking debt from you are quite a few, seems good!”

Mu Yichen explained.

Qin Mu...

Seeing many people collecting debts from her, he’s happy?

Qin Mu thought to herself, don’t forget you’re planning to divorce me. If I can’t pay back the debts, we would split the assets 50/50 according to the law, and I wouldn’t need to work my entire life for those debts at all?

Standing at the door with hands on hips, Qin Mu watched the trio walk away until a ray of sunlight quietly crept up overhead.

She looked up and felt better, her nose itched, sneezed, then turned to run back inside.

Her throat felt a little uncomfortable, probably caught a chill last night.

Ugh, always getting chilled lately.

Qin Mu found some medicine for herself to take, then drove to the city center. The shop was still open on New Year’s Day, Wang Li was absent, and there were four staff on duty who were surprised to see her but rushed to greet her for New Year.

”Happy New Year to you too, here are your red envelopes, a little something wishing you a healthy body and to quickly find a partner in the new year!”

Qin Mu said cheerfully.

The four of them were single and from the city. Those who had boyfriends were usually out on dates at this time.

So when Qin Mu mentioned ’finding a partner,’ the four girls who were excited with the red envelopes suddenly became dejected.

”It’s easy to say but really hard to achieve!”

”Exactly! It’s not like we can find one just because we want to!”

”If men can be reliable, pigs could climb trees. I actually feel just fine without a boyfriend.”

”I agree with Qian Yu!”

Listening to them, Qin Mu found their points logical, ordered a cup of coffee, and sat down with a magazine in the break area.
