His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2251: Chapter 654: One Year Later (31) Your New Strategy Against Me?

”I’m going to check on Xiaomei, you keep an eye on him.”

Zhao Huai glanced at the woman who was getting along well with his male colleague, feeling a bit uneasy, and whispered to Xi Meng.

Xi Meng nodded, and after Zhao Huai left, she saw Qiao Yi walking in from the entrance. Her mood suddenly relaxed, and she walked up with a wine glass and her gown to greet him.

”Where’s Yichen?”

Qiao Yi asked softly after meeting Xi Meng.

”Over there!”

Xi Meng raised her chin, looking at a sparsely populated area where the sofa was wide and the table was clean enough to reflect a face, but the area felt cold due to Mu’s presence.

”I’ll go check on him!”

Qiao Yi whispered and was about to walk forward when Xi Meng pulled him back: ”Someone just poured him a few more drinks.”

”Call Qin Mu and tell her he’s had too much to drink and she should come get him.”

Qiao Yi thought Mu hadn’t had enough yet and gave Xi Meng a quick instruction before heading over to Mu Yichen. As he walked, a waiter passed by with drinks, and Qiao Yi casually picked up a glass of champagne.

Xi Meng thought that if Qin Mu wanted to come, she would have come by now!

But then again, success is up to the heavens, but effort is up to people!

Qiao Yi walked over and sat across from him. Mu Yichen’s dull gaze lifted in slight surprise: ”Here to pick up Xi Meng?”

”Just stopping by to check on you! I heard Xiaomei took the gown to the company, but Qin Mu didn’t agree to come over?”

Qiao Yi deliberately touched on his sore spot, and Mu Yichen glanced in another direction, letting out a cold laugh.

”Let’s have a drink first!”

Qiao Yi suggested, raising his glass to toast Mu Yichen, who then picked up his own glass. Although drinking to drown sorrows often deepens them, it was a momentary relief.

”How about we move somewhere else and continue drinking? Jing Feng seems to be downstairs.”

After finishing a glass, Qiao Yi reminded him.

Mu Yichen thought for a moment, then nodded: ”Give him a call!”

Receiving the instruction, Qiao Yi nodded, then took out his phone to call Jing Feng.

Outside the downstairs private room, Qiao Yi wrapped an arm around Jing Feng, standing at the doorway with an open bottle of red wine, and reassured the manager standing in the shadow: ”Don’t worry, if anything happens, we brothers will take the blame, it won’t involve you. Go take care of other things.”

”Alright!”

The manager seemed troubled but still nodded and walked away.

After the manager walked away, Jing Feng turned to Qiao Yi: ”If Yichen finds out and lays the blame, I won’t admit anything.”

”What are you talking about? How could you, the great Inspector Jing, do such shady things? It’s all my fault, Qiao Yi’s alone.”

Qiao Yi chuckled mischievously, hugging him as he spoke.

Jing Feng hesitated with doubt but then let Qiao Yi lead him into the private room, where Jiang Zhiyuan and Yang Bo were already present, even Gongzhi Ping’an was there drinking gloomily by himself.

Mu Yichen came downstairs deep in thought as soon as the elevator doors opened, seeing a woman in a purple dress, he started from the hem and looked up slowly.

”Young Master Chen!”

Chen Xiaoyi hadn’t expected to encounter him and couldn’t help but smile warmly, feeling excited.

”Still at the hotel so late?”

Mu Yichen let out a light laugh and asked her, as a form of greeting.

”Just gathering with some friends, we were just about to go up and sing.”

Chen Xiaoyi explained good-naturedly, and then heard some familiar faces jokingly coming her way.

Mu Yichen said nothing, nodded, and walked away.

Chen Xiaoyi reflexively followed his silhouette with her gaze, unable to come back to her senses for a long time, thinking of some of his words, feeling both pained and moved.

”Xiaoyi! Wasn’t that Young Master Chen?”

”Xiaoyi, you didn’t invite us here to sing to secretly meet Young Master Chen, did you?”

”I bet it’s quite possible! Using us to meet a lover, huh?”

”Oh come on, you guys are too much. How did you come out of that elevator?”

Xiaoyi couldn’t stand their teasing remarks and quickly changed the topic.

”And you talk about us? Do you even know what kind of people use this elevator you’re standing at? Looks like you were waiting here on purpose for Young Master Chen, weren’t you?”

Upon hearing her friends say this, she lifted her eyes and realized she was standing in the wrong place.

Every time she came here, it was either with her father or with Mu Yichen, or Mu Yichen’s mother, so she had gotten used to using this elevator, not realizing it wasn’t for just anyone’s use.

”I suppose I’d better be careful in the future!”

Chen Xiaoyi muttered to herself, and after being stared at with affectionate gazes for a long time by everyone, she finally snapped out of it: ”What are you looking at me for? Let’s go!”
