His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2263: Chapter 657: One Year Later (34) President Mu the Lone Wolf_2

”Are you not even calling her mom anymore?”

Mu Yichen asked her.

”You probably don’t know, but she doesn’t want me to keep calling her that. Of course, I feel the same. We’ve reached this point.”

Qin Mu said with a slight laugh.

”What point have we reached?”

In the dark, his voice seemed particularly steady and indisputable.

”The point of divorce! Have you had your lawyer draft the agreement? If it’s drafted, you can have him show me first. As for the assets, I have no objections. As for anything else, there shouldn’t be anything we can’t agree upon, right?”

Qin Mu thought for a moment and asked him in confusion.

After all, it was their first divorce, she was truly unfamiliar with the procedures and didn’t know how many steps they had to go through. Initially, she thought they just needed to take their household registration and marriage certificate to the civil affairs bureau to sign again, and then that would be it.

”Probably, let’s see the lawyer!”

Mu Yichen said cryptically.

Qin Mu heard his ”probably” and couldn’t help but smile, ”Honestly, you’re not worried I’m going to fight for your assets, are you? Rest assured, even though I don’t earn a lot, I live better than most people. I’m not about to fight for your wealth. The world you’ve built, you have the right to enjoy it alone.”

Enjoy it alone? The right?

Mu Yichen frowned, though in the darkness, Qin Mu couldn’t see it.

”I have a headache, maybe I’ve caught a cold. Can you massage it for me?”

He suddenly asked, placing the wineglass down and slowly lying down.

Huanhuan’s pillow was soft, but not as spacious or comfortable as theirs, yet he lay there quietly.

Qin Mu heard him complain about his headache, and seeing he had already lain down, instinctively put the wineglass down quietly, then crawled over to him, lowering her head to examine him closely, ”Is it from that time? Is that why you have a headache?”

”I don’t know, maybe it has something to do with it!”

Mu Yichen said with his eyes closed, his voice soft.

Qin Mu’s gentle hand was already on his forehead, applying moderate pressure as she massaged him.

”Does this feel okay? Do you need me to press harder?”

She asked him softly.

”It’s fine!”

He replied.

Qin Mu felt that his voice seemed to have become hoarse, and suddenly somewhat husky. She kept her hand moving, seeing his spirit wasn’t too good today. She hadn’t thought much about it, but now that he mentioned his headache, she became alert, realizing she’d overlooked it.

”If it gets really uncomfortable, I’ll find you some medicine to take. Sleep, and you should feel better tomorrow.”

”What if I’m not better?”

”How could you not be better? Even if you’re not better tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, soon enough you’ll be fine.”

”What if I have a terminal illness?”

He suddenly pressed his hand against hers on his forehead, asking her wearily.

Qin Mu’s heart trembled, but she quickly removed his hand and said softly, ”Nonsense! How can someone as bad as you have a terminal illness? Haven’t you heard that good people don’t live long, while mischief-makers live for thousands of years?”

In the darkness, Qin Mu heard him chuckle, and her heart softened considerably, ”Don’t let your young mind run wild. That’s not something for someone like Mu Yichen to worry about.”

”Then what should I be worrying about?”

”Hmm! Making money! Supporting the family! Having fun!”

Qin Mu thought for a moment and told him.

”The family’s gone, how am I supposed to support it?”

Mu Yichen asked her softly, without any anger.

Qin Mu felt uncomfortable in her heart, ”Why are you saying this again? If you tell me you won’t fall in love with someone else, I wouldn’t believe you. You were brave enough to try with that Miss Chen before; haven’t you heard that there’s always a second once there’s a first? After being apart for many years, naturally, you’ll start another relationship and another marriage!”

Qin Mu’s hand continued to press his forehead, speaking like she was an observer.

”Don’t give me that opportunity!”

He suddenly gripped her hand, this time holding it directly in his palm, placing it on his chest.

Qin Mu’s hand reflexively tried to pull away, but he held it tightly, leaving her awkwardly pressing against his chest, feeling his strong heartbeat, his burning body heat, and the fluctuation within her own heart.

Mu Yichen slowly opened his eyes, the deep black orbs showing a hint of weariness, ”I prefer being with someone whose body I’m already familiar with.”

”You’ll live a long life, a mere twenty-plus years with me is nothing. One day, you’ll have someone with you for forty or fifty years, they are the ones you’ll be familiar with.”
