His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2259: Chapter 656: One Year Later (33) Refusing to Buy Clothes for Elders_3

Qin Mu smirked wryly, and Wang Li sighed, understanding Qin Mu’s temperament, and began to report to her.

Qin Mu couldn’t listen, lifted her eyes, and looked toward the sofa to find Mu Yichen looking at his phone very intently.

Mu Yichen was focused when suddenly a number came in, causing him to frown.

But when he looked up and saw Qin Mu watching him, his mood improved a bit: ”Come over here!”

”Hmm?”

Qin Mu was about to avoid his gaze and was then called, so she puzzledly stretched her neck and obediently went over to him.

”It’s Mu Qingxin’s call!”

”Should I answer?”

Qin Mu doubted, considering that she hadn’t talked to Mu Qingxin on the phone for a long time, and even rarely saw her on WeChat.

”You answer it!”

Mu Yichen indicated.

Qin Mu thought that she’d answer and see what Mu Qingxin would say when she heard her voice.

Wang Li stood aside without interrupting, quietly waiting for Qin Mu to make the call.

”Hello?”

”Brother, I’m back, you should treat my husband and me to dinner tonight. Oh, and after dinner, I want to go to JY to buy clothes for Jiang Yan, but money’s a bit tight!”

Qin Mu thought the girl didn’t hear her voice, perhaps too excited about exploiting her brother.

”Your brother didn’t want to take your call. This is Qin Mu!”

Qin Mu thought for a moment, deliberately responding this way to Mu Qingxin.

Mu Qingxin, hearing it was indeed Qin Mu’s voice, was startled, immediately covering the phone’s receiver, and looked at her husband on the sofa in panic, whispering: ”It’s Qin Mu answering the call!”

Jiang Yan looked up at her about to cry, unconsciously chuckling: ”So what if it’s Qin Mu, why are you so scared?”

”She is separated from my brother, and my mom dislikes her. I never stood up for her!”

It was guilt! Mu Qingxin said, biting her lip in apprehension.

”She won’t hold it against you; just invite her to dinner!”

Jiang Yan reminded Mu Qingxin after a moment’s thought.

”Invite her?”

Mu Qingxin thought to herself, how could I dare? What if she questions why I didn’t help her or why I haven’t contacted her in so long, how would I explain?

”Is there anything else you want me to convey, or I’ll hang up!”

Qin Mu said on the phone.

”No, no, wait! Oh, uh, you’re back, huh!”

”Yes, it’s something everyone in the circle of friends knows!”

”Uh! Well, uh, well, how about we have dinner together tonight? My husband and I invite you?”

Mu Qingxin instinctively tried to placate.

”Wasn’t Mu Yichen supposed to invite? Why are you suddenly inviting?”

Qin Mu raised her head, looking at the window as she asked.

”Uh! I asked my brother to invite because he’s my brother! Inviting you...”

”Because I’m an outsider, huh?”

Qin Mu asked lightly, holding her elbow.

”No, no, of course, you’re not an outsider, it’s just guilt on my part!”

Mu Qingxin had to quickly explain, her voice getting softer.

Qin Mu lowered her head a bit, then smiled and said: ”Better let your brother treat us! Your treat, keep it for another time!”

Mu Qingxin felt relieved hearing her words and quickly agreed.

After Qin Mu hung up, she handed the phone back to Mu Yichen: ”Your sister is back. She said she wants to have dinner with you outside tonight, you’re treating!”

The words ’you’re treating’ were said especially clearly.

Mu Yichen looked up at her and smiled slightly: ”As long as you’re happy!”

Qin Mu...

”Your sister and brother-in-law, how does that make me happy?”

Qin Mu asked him.

”Didn’t they want to invite you, but you refused? It doesn’t matter, I have a lot of money in your hands anyway.”

Mu Yichen explained patiently to her, Qin Mu...

Does that mean she has to pay?

Then the dinner, it must be on AM.

After Mu Qingxin hung up the phone, she patted her chest, taking a breath. Feng Fanghua came out of the kitchen, looking at her daughter as if scared, and asked: ”What’s wrong? Who frightened you?”

”Your daughter-in-law! I called my brother, but he asked her to answer!”

Mu Qingxin said casually.

”What daughter-in-law? Maybe they’ll be divorced in ten days or half a month!”

Feng Fanghua said as she sat down.

Mu Qingxin instinctively looked at Jiang Yan; Jiang Yan lowered his eyes. Regarding the Mu family’s affairs, he always maintained an attitude of not meddling much. He understood very well the figureheads between his mother-in-law and brother-in-law, but it depended on the occasion and crowd.

”Mom, she’s back, and my brother can’t bear to part with her, so why do you still say things like that!”

Mu Qingxin sat next to Feng Fanghua, hugging her arm and whispering.

”Hmph! What if your brother can’t bear to part with her? She’s dead set on breaking up with him.”
