Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 397, Aggressive Confrontation

Therefore, even though they rudely barged into the Ye Family, Ye Wuxian could not act on her temper alone. Being able to stop them here was already Ye Wuxian doing her best.

At this time, after more than a month of recovery, Loong Xing’s injuries from his fight with Lu Fan and Andrei had already healed.

However, his hatred for Lu Fan had not diminished in the slightest.

And this hatred naturally extended to Ye Wuxian.

Loong Xing knew he was not actually a match for Ye Wuxian, but today with his Second Uncle backing him up, he was completely fearless.

Even though before coming, Loong Erhu had mentioned that Ye Wuxian might potentially become one of his Aunts in the future, and he should not be attacked carelessly, Loong Xing still had the authority to give her a hard time.

A cold smile appeared on Loong Xing’s handsome face as he sarcastically mocked, “The Ye Family’s hospitality is truly lacking. We’ve been seated here at the Ye Family residence for so long without even being served hot tea.”

An expression of greater impatience appeared on Ye Wuxian’s face. She did not speak, but a Third Profession guard standing beside her coldly snorted. “Did you consider hospitality when you forcefully barged into our home? If this was the Ye Family of the past, you would have already been beaten and thrown out as disrespectful thugs!”

This guard was completely loyal to the Ye Family, otherwise he would not have returned to face difficulties with the Ye Family at this time.

He was extremely angry at the Loong Family’s actions, but his words only invited laughter from the other party.

A follower behind Loong Xing laughed without restraint. “The Ye Family of the past? Do you still think you’re the Ye Family of the past now? Right now, even if I took a piss at your front gate, would anyone in your Ye Family dare to make a sound!?”

“Hahaha…” Everyone burst into laughter.

Mere servants daring to be so aggressive showed that the Loong Family truly did not take the Ye Family seriously at all.

Not just Ye Wuxian, but even some of the Ye Family members behind her were finding it hard to tolerate this and wanted to take out their weapons to teach them a lesson.

How could Ye Wuxian feel any different? But right now, the whole Ye Family was counting on her to manage the situation, and she knew she could not act rashly.

“Miss Ye, why don’t we…” The subordinate who spoke earlier gritted his teeth and leaned forward, seeking Ye Wuxian’s opinion.

Ye Wuxian shook her head. “Don’t be impulsive, they won’t be jumping around for much longer.”

Previously, Ye Wuxian had acted impulsively and gotten into a big fight with the Huang Family, resulting in heavy losses for the Ye Family.

This time, not directly confronting the Loong Family was not because Ye Wuxian was afraid.

On the contrary, it was because Ye Wuxian was confident that the more arrogant they acted now, the harder they would fall later!

“Alright, everyone be quiet!” Seeing Ye Wuxian swallowing her anger, Loong Erhu believed it was because their Loong Family’s pressure on this visit was great enough.

At this point, he should also step forward to play the role of a lifeline, while putting down Ye Wuxian.

Loong Erhu silenced his followers, then smiled and said. “Never mind about the tea, we didn’t come here to drink tea anyway.”

“Miss Ye, your Ye Family summoned out the Truce Scroll for two whole months, putting aside the resource disputes between your Ye Family and our Loong Family, now that the Truce Scroll has been taken down, shouldn’t we settle both old and new grievances together?”

Speaking thus far, Loong Erhu crossed his legs and confidently continued. “First, your Ye Family once gifted our Loong Family twelve Map Resources, and later when our Loong Family rose to prominence, we returned these twelve Map Resources to your Ye Family. We Loong Family now need to take back these Map Resources to cultivate our younger generation. Since these Map Resources were gifted to our Loong Family by your Ye Family, theoretically we Loong Family were also once the owners of these Map Resources. Naturally, we have the right to request them back!”

At these words, Ye Wuxian’s eyes narrowed.

Due to the history between the Ye Family and Loong Family, Ye Wuxian understood clearly. Back then when the Loong Family was declining, her Grandfather had lent twelve Map Resources to the Loong Family, allowing them to cultivate many of their own Players.

Later when the Loong Family’s strength recovered and they firmly held their position as a Third Tier Ancient Noble Family, the Ye Family Patriarch took back these Map Resources.

From beginning to end, the Ye Family had never said they would gift these Map Resources to the Loong Family.

Yet, the Loong Family was now twisting the facts, using their previous temporary possession of these Map Resources to claim they should own them. It was utterly shameless.

However, Ye Wuxian had actually heard such arguments many times before.

After all, both the previous visits of the Huang Family and Loong Family had been like this, always finding various reasons to take Map Resources from the Ye Family’s hands.

Rather than calling it requesting, it was more like forceful seizure.

After Loong Erhu listed several more Ye Family Map Resources that should belong to their Loong Family, he smiled again and said. “The Loong Family had already expressed these things before you left the Western Border. Whether to continue holding these Map Resources or obediently return them to our Loong Family, I believe you must have thought things through, right? If you hadn’t thought things through, you wouldn’t have returned, right?”

After a pause, Loong Erhu gradually revealed his true nature and continued: “Besides these matters, there’s another thing that I believe your Ye Family owes our Loong Family an explanation for. That is, my Nephew Loong Xing. He traveled far to Dragon Capital to find you, kindly helping your Ye Family plan an exit strategy, allowing your Ye Family to retain the Map Resources in your hands, and even gain our Loong Family’s protection.”

“But what happened?”

“You allowed others to beat up and injure my Nephew! Regarding this matter, my Older Brother and the Patriarch are livid, saying your Ye Family must definitely pay the price! But, I’m rather soft. I feel this matter doesn’t need to be blown out of proportion. I do not want this to hurt the relationship of our two Families.”

“I believe it has just been a misunderstanding, and I’ve thought of a perfect solution these past few days that should work.” At this point, Loong Erhu licked his lips and said. “I hear you have no marriage arrangement and are now of marriageable age. Why don’t you marry me? That way, even Loong Xing’s Father can no longer complain.”

“At the same time, our Loong and Ye Families would be joined in marriage, and what I mentioned before about the Ye Family submitting to our Loong Family could be settled. With our Loong Family present, the Huang Family would not dare harbor any ill intentions toward the Ye Family’s Map Resources. Wouldn’t this be a win-win outcome for both our Families?”

At these words, even though Ye Wuxian had told herself to treat whatever they said as nonsense and just watch them, knowing Lu Fan would definitely deal with them, she could not hold back anymore!
