Chapter 379, Rich Opportune Mission Rewards

Translator: Silavin

Opportune Mission: Save the Shadow Isle
Mission Requirements: Kill the Shadow Dragon Human King, obtain the Shadow Dragon King’s scale, destroy the Shadow Spring Water, and restore the Shadow Isle back to become Heaven Blessed Isle.

Mission Reward: Ownership of Heaven Blessed Isle.

Note: Heaven Blessed Isle’s ownership can only be held by one person. The final holder of the Shadow Dragon King’s scale will be considered to have Completed the Mission and receive the Mission Reward. Others will Fail the Mission and receive no Rewards.

Lu Fan was shocked. [The reward for this Opportune Mission is the entire Heaven Blessed Isle!?]

This was astonishing, as Missions that directly rewarded an entire area were extremely rare. While studying at Dragon Capital University, Lu Fan had heard of such Opportune Rewards, but worldwide, recorded instances of this were in the single digits.

Furthermore, most of these Missions would Reward Dungeon Instance. If someone obtained a Dungeon Instance through an Opportune Mission, they would own that Dungeon Instance, could enter freely, and could set entry fees for others. Without their permission, no one could enter.

But this Mission Reward was not a Dungeon Instance but an entire area! It was part of the world!

Though Shadow Isle was not particularly large, if one could truly acquire ownership of it, its significance would far exceed that of a Dungeon Instance. After all, Dungeon Instances existed outside this world. Though world areas were connected to it, it was still not actually part of this world. In fact, by owning the rights to Shadow Isle, it meant that one could establish independence and create a small country of their own!

Lu Fan was not entirely sure what benefits would come with owning Shadow Isle. After all, there was too little information about what an Area Owner could do after obtaining it through an Opportune Mission. However, one thing was certain – getting ownership of Heaven Blessed Isle would be as significant as obtaining a Mythical Grade item!

Not just Andrei and the others, even Lu Fan, with all his experience, was tempted.

Though Andrei and his companions were tempted, they knew this Mission Reward had nothing to do with them. Unless Lu Fan was mentally ill, he would certainly claim this Mission Reward for himself. After all, if it were not for Lu Fan, Andrei and the others would not even have made it here, let alone complete this Mission.

If they dared to covet this Opportune Mission Reward, it would be too shameless of them. Therefore, Andrei did not even consider discussing it, and directly said with an envious tone. “Looks like Shadow Isle will soon be yours, Brother Lu.”

“To be honest, this is my first time encountering a Mission that directly Rewards a whole area. Even our Family has no records of such a thing. We also don’t know what kind of authority one gets after owning an area. So, after you own Shadow Isle, could you let me see what kinds of abilities an Area Owner possesses?”

Lu Fan smiled, tacitly accepting that the area would be his, and said. “We’ve only just received this Mission, isn’t it a bit too early to discuss about what happens after I become the Shadow Isle’s owner?”

“Haha, how is it too early? With your Combat Power, Completing the Mission should not be difficult!”

Lu Fan made no comment, casually pointing at the Shadow Spring Core ahead. “Whether we can complete it or not depends on what this thing has to say.”

Everyone was startled, then looked in the direction Lu Fan was pointing.

They saw a figure slowly emerging from the bubbling spring water.

It was a giant about five metres tall, completely shrouded in black shadow mist.

Through the shadow mist, they could see this Monster had similarities and differences compared to other Monsters on Shadow Isle.

The similarity was that it was also an Undead Type Monster. Its body was not solid, likely a Ghost Type Monster. This meant it probably had a Passive that granted 70% Physical Resistance, making it troublesome to deal with.

The difference was that while other Shadow Isle Monsters were clearly Souls transformed from dead Humans, this Monster’s appearance was far from an ordinary Human. Its form was between a Human and a Dragon, having both Human-like elongated limbs and many Dragon features, such as Dragon Scales, Dragon Claw, and a Dragon Head.

Even without using Appraisal, they knew this was Shadow Isle’s Final Boss and the Opportune Mission’s target – the Shadow Dragon Human King.

Notably, above the Shadow Dragon Human King’s head was an ancient crown. The crown was made of special materials, and was heavily tainted by Black Shadow Matter, constantly emitting black light. It was clearly no ordinary item.

In his right hand was a giant sword.

Calling it a giant sword was not quite accurate, as its design was uniquely crude. It resembled a scale, black as jade, with extremely sharp edges that could split the air with just a casual swing.

Moreover, this black scale sword seemed to have merged with the Shadow Dragon Human King, becoming part of his body. His entire right hand had fused with the giant sword, and his transformation into a Dragon Human was likely influenced by this scale, which had assimilated him.

After appearing, the Shadow Dragon Human King stood suspended above the Shadow Spring Source. Even without moving, he continuously emanated sharp energy that split the dark spring water below, making none dare approach him.

Though not particularly large, this Monster’s pressure was no less than the Divine Bone Clone.

Lu Fan’s expression grew solemn as he used Appraisal.

Sure enough, this Monster was the Shadow Dragon Human King, a Level 95 Epic Grade Boss (Nightmare), even stronger than the Divine Bone Clone!

From its description, Lu Fan learned of its history.

Description:
This Shadow Dragon Human King was once the monarch of Heaven Blessed Country. As the owner of the Fortune Glowing Spring, he was actually the strongest in all of Heaven Blessed Country.

Later, when the Shadow Dragon King descended upon Heaven Blessed Country’s Capital, just its aura alone was enough to tear apart the entire country. From then on, the Capital ceased to exist.

However, the monarch did not die at that time. He was trapped in the increasingly corrupted Fortune Glowing Spring, gradually being corrupted by Black Shadow Matter. That was not all, a scale that fell from the Shadow Dragon King landed beside him, which he firmly grasped.

After a year of constantly getting corrupted, the Dragon Scale completely fused with the monarch, granting him some of the Shadow Dragon King’s Bloodline Power. This caused the monarch to become somewhat like a Dragon Blood Warrior, his body transforming and becoming even more powerful, resulting in his current appearance.

It was clear the giant sword in his right hand was the Shadow Dragon King’s scale needed for the Opportune Mission. Killing him and possessing this scale would grant ownership of Shadow Isle.

Additionally, the crown on his head, the symbol of Heaven Blessed Country’s Royal Authority, was made of special materials. After being soaked in Black Shadow Matter, it was now called Shadow Crown.
