Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 363, Dare to Attack My Junior Brother? You Are Seeking Death!

It was a shadowy figure wearing broken armor. It had a muscular build, and wielded a black iron greatsword. However, its lower body was a mass of black mist without legs. It was clearly an Undead Type Monster.

Lu Fan used Appraisal on it and learned it was a Level 80 Elite Monster called Shadow Swordsman.

Its Attributes were considered outstanding among Level 80 Elite Monsters, and as Andrei had mentioned earlier, it had a Passive Skill that could reduce Physical Attack by 70% and could use Concealment in the shadow mist.

On Shadow Isle, these normal Monsters had Combat Power stronger than a normal Bronze Grade Boss (Bronze is easier than Easy Difficulty- Silver is Easy Difficult).

[No wonder killing just one such Monster would give Experience Points equivalent to a Bronze Grade Boss.]

Right now, only one Monster had appeared, and since the three Fourth Profession Players Andrei brought were at the front, naturally Lu Fan did not need to act.

The Demonic Feather’s arrow precisely struck the Shadow Swordsman’s chest, piercing through its broken armor. At the same time, the cold air from the arrow spread out, bursting on the Monster and freezing half its body.

In reaction, this Shadow Swordsman did not roar when attacked like normal Monsters. It remained completely silent from start to finish. After being attacked it just charged toward everyone to attack.

However, before Fourth Profession Players, a Level 80 Elite Monster clearly could not make much of an impact.

The Demonic Feather drew his bow again, and this time, his arrow was flowing with five-coloured light, clearly imbued with extremely powerful Elemental Power.

The Demonic Feather Profession was most skilled at Enchanting arrows to deal massive Damage to Monsters. So, although he had an Archer Type Profession, he could deal Magic Damage comparable to Mages. That would mean he was a great counter to the Monsters on Shadow Isle.

Although the Shadow Swordsman very quickly charged forward, it only made it halfway before an intense burst of cold air exploded in the sky.

The Frost Venerable, being one of the branches with the lowest Damage Output among Mage Type Fourth Professions, while lacking in Damage, possessed amazing Crowd Control Skills.

This cold air was his Third Profession Skill, Sheer Cold.

When his Skill was cast, it accurately hit the Shadow Swordsman, completely freezing it.

At this moment, the Demonic Feather’s charged arrow was also released, shooting out a trailing five-coloured light.

With a huge *Boom!*, the Shadow Swordsman was struck and forced back over ten metres, the ice layer on its body shattering.

However, it still was not dead. It could still drag its broken body toward everyone. Unfortunately, it had not even moved twenty metres before being easily finished off by the Frost Venerable’ Ice Spike.

Though only two acted, it was clear that these three Fourth Profession Players coordinated well. From start to finish, they first forced the Monster out of Concealment, then Crowd Controlled it and Dealt Damage, all in one smooth sequence.

Even the Destroyer who came along had already drawn his greatsword, preparing to engage in close combat with any approaching Monsters. It was just that he did not get a chance to act.

Still, when one thinks about it, these three were Fourth Profession Players, after all. If they could not even handle a Level 80 Elite Monster, they would not be supported by Andrei’s Family.

The defeated Shadow Swordsman’s body dispersed and gradually concentrated in one spot, forming a stone that emitted grey gas.

Seeing this, Andrei’s eyes lit up. After confirming there were no other Monsters around, he went forward to pick it up, then tossed it to Lu Fan with a smile. “Brother Lu, your luck is pretty good. To think our very first Monster had already dropped it.”

Lu Fan put the ‘freshly dropped’ Shadow Isle Essence into his bag and said with a smile: “Looks like it is a good start. Counting the three you gave me before, I still need 296 more. The road ahead is still very long…”

“You need that many Shadow Isle Essence?” Andrei scratched his head, but did not complain, “Then, it looks like we’ll need to farm quite a few of these Monsters to gather them all. The drop rate for Shadow Isle Essence is quite low. We’ll probably need to spend at least a week here.”

Lu Fan smiled and said. “A week is fine. This time, I brought plenty of food made by my Aunt, enough for us to eat for seven or eight days.”

Hearing this, Andrei’s eyes immediately lit up. “That’s great! With Sister Han’s food, I’d be willing to stay here for half my life!”

Lu Fan chuckled, about to speak when he suddenly sensed more Monsters approaching.

This time, they were also Shadow Swordsmans, but there were three of them.

This was still nothing for the three Fourth Profession Players.

The Demonic Feather shot three arrows in succession, forcing them out of Concealment, then the Destroyer and Frost Venerable coordinated to easily kill these three Monsters.

However, this time, none of the three Monsters dropped any Shadow Isle Essence. This showed that the material’s drop rate was indeed low.

The group continued advancing according to Andrei, encountering over ten waves of Monsters along the way.

The Monsters were mostly Shadow Swordsmans, or Shadow Spearmen with Higher Attributes. Even so, all of them were easily dealt with by the three Fourth Profession Players, providing Lu Fan with decent Experience Points and three Shadow Isle Essences.

Soon, they had been advancing for two hours.

As they went deeper, everyone except Lu Fan had their Attributes decreased by over 20%.

The frequency and number of Monster appearances also increased. Since only the Demonic Feather could notice Monsters in Concealment, if he could not immediately force them out of Concealment, the other two had no way to deal with these Monsters.

Thus, the group’s progress had clearly slowed down, and fighting the Monsters became more strenuous.

Seeing the three Fourth Profession Players could no longer instantly kill these Monsters, Lu Fan decided it was time to help out. After all, he came along not just to collect materials and benefit himself.

Just as Lu Fan decided to act, a hooked sickle suddenly shot out from the darkness ahead, dragging a long bronze chain, aiming straight for Lu Fan’s neck.

At this moment, the three Fourth Profession Players had just finished a battle and were far from Lu Fan. So, they could not immediately save him.

Lu Fan’s eyes narrowed. He originally planned on taking out his Flaming Meteor Sword to block this hooked chain, but Ye Wuxian was faster to react.

With a surge of flame, Ye Wuxian held Heaven Incinerator in one hand and easily deflected the hooked sickle.

The sickle clashed with Heaven Incinerator, spun around, and the chain wrapped around the tip of the spear.

Then the chain tightened, as if someone was forcefully pulling on it.

However, as a Battle Mage, Ye Wuxian’s Strength Attribute was extraordinary. Even with a more than 20% Reduction in her Attributes, it was still incredibly high.

The opponent made the chain creak and groan, but it was not able to move Ye Wuxian by a centimetre.

“Dare to attack my Junior Brother? You are seeking death!” Ye Wuxian stood, holding her spear with her hair flowing, looking valiant and peerless.
